Palehood Posted November 18 Posted November 18 (edited) If somebody whom you don't know used the /e slap action on you, is there usually a meaning attached? If there is a friendly meaning to it, I wouldn't want to misunderstand that it is meant to be hostile. Edited November 18 by Palehood
mistagoat Posted November 18 Posted November 18 As far as I know there is no universally understood deeper meaning to the slap emote. Maybe someone just learned of its existence and wanted to play with it or maybe it was RPer with an elaborate story playing out and you just happened to be nearby and got used as a prop.* Lots of possibilities but I doubt there was any deep meaning to it. *I don't RP so that might not even be a thing. 1 SPOON!
Scarlet Shocker Posted November 18 Posted November 18 It's just a flavour adding emote. There's no actual meaning to it and remember, it came out before Will Smith made it to Oscar night! 2 I learned early on that chemistry is just like cooking. From there I worked out that a mixture of Barium, Carbon and Nitrogen between two slices of bread gives you a delicious BaCoN sandwich

Skyhawke Posted November 18 Posted November 18 If someone does /e slap, just reply with /e getsome. 1 1 Sky-Hawke: MA/Psi Brute Alts galore. So...soooo many alts. Originally Pinnacle Server, then Indomitable and now Excelsior
cranebump Posted November 18 Posted November 18 I save the slap for certain contacts (Synapse being a favorite). Mainly because I can’t slap myself.:-) 2 I have done a TON of AE work, both long form and single arc. Just search the AE mish list for my sig @cranebump. ShardWarrior Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Both the Smack and Slap emotes are very much necessary. I need them to keep my pet Monkey in line.

stealthnight Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Its just the first step in the Slap>Feed>Flower emote chain; everyone knows this.

BlackSpectre Posted November 19 Posted November 19 I loved both /e slap and /e smack when it was first released. I was able to do 3 Stooges routines with my friends and it was super fun! We had a blast just slapping each other silly when as a greeting! Then someone complained that it bothered their widdle feelings and the devs nerfed it by slowing down the animations. That killed the 3 Stooges routine. Made the whole emote not fun anymore. Way to go complainers! Thanks a lot! 😞 After that, when we greeted each other we just said, "Hey." pause. "Hey" back. Then stood around bored waiting for the mission to start. So sad. I miss the fast slaps. BlackSpectre Posted November 19 Posted November 19 As far as what a slap means... it means they like you! Take it as a compliment and slap ''em back! If you like, think of it as a high five! Heck, if you have a choice of interpretation, why not choose the interpretation that is the most positive and make you feel the best? Even if it's not true, who cares? It's not like you're ever going to find out what they mean, or tell you. So be happy! 1 Black Spectre - A Dark Defender's Home on the Web • The Advanced Bind Guide • The Masters of BAF: A Guide for Leaders and Players • The Wiki List of Slash Commands
Palehood Posted November 19 Author Posted November 19 (edited) Disclaimer:To all the people who has /e slapped me and whoever I have /e slapped back in the game(if you manage to guess who I am ingame), please don't think that I am trying to blow up any issues by making this post to ask the question. I posted the question/message so I can get multiple opinions on what it is so I don't misinterpret it wrongly. Edited November 20 by Palehood
