seaoftime Posted September 1, 2020 Posted September 1, 2020 Hi folks, my village can be found at travel-5254 on Reunion: /macroimage Inherent_KnightsBastion Base "enterbasefrompasscode travel-5254" It is of course a work in progress but has a village setting with a train depot, village square, and residential areas as its main components. I've got NPCs sprinkled throughout such as ICON employees in the clothing shop, Nurses in the clinic, quartermasters and trainers several places, as well as a one stop workshop location. There is a meeting room for the supergroup and a nearby neighborhood that was destroyed by a Rikti invasion that can be visited. There is an sg marker in one of the shops, bonus points if you can locate it (it would be really cool if SG leaders could attach prizes to special SG location markers!). 8

ltzerge Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 So after a week or so of toiling away in the base this new area is basically done. You go through a portal entering a cave, that then leads above ground to a red river. At either end of the river are buildings, the north one being a small lodge and the south one being a larger home with a workshop. Overseers scattered through out monitor the player, and the larger home is guard by a golem. https://imgur.com/a/7SLzrGH 5

Arctique Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 This base has been my baby for about a year, and is still nowhere near done but hands down my proudest creation as a base builder. Allow me to introduce the home neighborhood of my main character Fighting Gold, and her Founders Falls Penthouse Screenshots giving a more in depth tour of the base to come soon! 11
Arctique Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 Starting of course, with the penthouse itself: Main entrance: A cafe: Inside the cafe: 4
Arctique Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 Heading up into the penthouse itself! Elevator up to the apartment: Hanging out corner! Don't mind the glowing skull: Out by the pool: Fancy decor: Home gym: Living room: Bedroom: Bathroom: Kitchen: 5
Arctique Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 Next up, directly across the canals: The beaches: Little bit of convenience and a little bit of history: HOT DOGS, GETCHA HOT DOGS: 9
ShardWarrior Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 Beautiful work @Arctique!! Definitely enter this one in the base building contest!
Arctique Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 I've thought about submitting it to base contests when those pop up, but it's still a very unfinished base despite what's on display here so far. Most of the other buildings are still just big slabs of brick wall without windows yet, and there's a BIG chunk of still completely empty real estate behind the main penthouse building. Just wouldn't feel right entering such a big WiP into a contest.
FoulVileTerror Posted September 15, 2020 Posted September 15, 2020 You have until the end of October to enter in to the official contest: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/22344-first-ever-homecoming-base-contest/ Do you imagine you would be able to finish it off before then without burning yourself out? If so, I'd like to encourage you to make the attempt!
Healix Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 Holy hell, Arc....you blew my mind and knocked my sock off at the same time! Forever grateful to be back in my city!
City Council Arcanum Posted September 23, 2020 City Council Posted September 23, 2020 Hey guys! I hope some of you are submitting these bases for our First Ever Base Contest! RebornRose Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 (edited) Wow, there are so many creative and helpful people in this community. I have learned so much since I built my first two bases back when I rejoined in February. I know that this is not the most sophisticated base in this thread (I only just figured out how to kind of, sort of build outside effectively-again thanks to all the amazing posters), but I am still super proud of it. If you happen by Reunion Shard, why not /enterbasefrompasscode SHED-3859 Presenting the secret lair of the Consortium of Grievous Resolve! (An organization for super powered antagonists) The centerpiece of the base is Slammy's Hideaway, a Bar/Nightclub/Fine Dining Establishment run by Slammy Davis, Jr (an immortal who really likes 1960s Vegas) Of course we have transport to anywhere in Paragon and the Rogue Isles. Either by air or underwater. One thing I have enjoyed is using the base to help tell the story of an ancient, shadowy organization. For instance, did you know that the Consortium dates back to the 2nd Century BCE? In fact, the current Sovereign, Alessandra Umbra, went ahead and stole the tomb of its founder, Antiochus Ephiphanes, and placed it in the base, so that current members can pay their respects. I also got a chance to develop some areas that are character specific. For example, my plant dominator's garden and hedge maze(the maze has two solutions and isn't that hard, but it was an early effort). Or my aquatic villain's aquarium(the power room was bugging me, because it was basically useless in terms of storytelling) I also wanted to have the base hold some secrets, first and foremost of which is the Sovereign's secret lair: You should be able to find it using the map, although many who have ventured in haven't made it out: Rumor has it that not only is there a secret teleporter that can take you straight to the Sovereign's sanctum, but you can also gain access to some of the more, shall we say, off limits sections of the base. I also added 8 exploration badges to help guide you through. Sadly they do not award (currently), but I went ahead and wrote the flavor text for you all: #1: Backstage Partier-Congrats, you've got IT, kid. You've gotten to hang out backstage at Slammy's. Hope you enjoyed the show! #2: Vindicating Scion: Armon of Lemuria demanded that he be granted a sumptuous pool, and this is the best the Sovereign could do? #3 Drill Sergeant: Operative Shanks' idea of a good time is anything that involves getting to shoot things. #4 Peace and Quiet: Sometimes Napalm Blossom needs a place to relax, where no one can find her. #5 Tomb Robber(Villains/Rouges)/Tomb Raider(Heroes/Vigilantes): You entered the tomb of Antiochus, summoner of the first Consortium. #6 Fury Road: In 1072, the town of Palyria in Asia Minor was mysteriously razed to the ground. What was left in its place stands before you. #7 The Long Way: Congratulations, darling! You found an entrance into Alessandra Umbra's secret sanctum #8 Sovereign's Secret: Well, look at who the clever one is. You've made it to the heart of Consortium's secret lair! Collect all the badges and you'd also get the badge, Don't Be a Stranger: You have explored the Consortium of Grievous Resolve's lair and uncovered its secrets. EmperorSteele Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 (edited) Everyone in this thread has made some really awesome stuff! From Alien worlds to modern cityscapes full of kitbashed yet recognizable staples! I'm in awe of the lot of you! I've scoured this thread and other resources looking for inspiration on how to do things. But there was one special feature, that one MAGICAL thing, that's eluded me thusfar. Maybe someone else already did this, and I missed it, in which case I'll be mad because I was tearing my hair out trying to make my concept work. I was going through each and every single item, trying to find the one thing that might make a suitable substitute for what I wanted to do. The editor actually has similar objects, but they were too bulky or fancy for what I had in mind. But then I found it! The one thing that will bring my concept to life and make me truly happy with my endeavor... That said, I am proud to present my humble contribution to the proceedings: I MADE A DOOR! (Two blank pegboards flipped around with a 5 lb barbell shoved into them. It's so simple now that I've done it, but getting there was rough!) I'll never forget years ago, back on live, a group of us were invited on a base tour. You could immediately sort the base builders from the casual tourists because while they were all oohing and aahing over the Fusion Generator (which, to be fair, took PVP rep to earn so most folks hadn't seen one) we builders were all fawning over the room's doors. EmperorSteele Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 I'm pretty sure having a swimming pool that close to a dance floor is a safety hazard, especially with alcohol involved! But if you don't care about that, then you should go crazy and have the pool SURROUNDING the dance floor, with the bar smack in the middle! Also, good work on the beds, they look great!
