/macro WH "powexec_location cursor Wormhole" Works really nicely
-
Yep, it's interesting. Even the "dead power picks" will take the Chance for Absorb proc in Injection and a -KB in Speed of Sound. I'd need Moar Purples to make up for the loss of some LOTG mules but overall it looks like an interesting choice. I like interesting choices.
-
And now you've sent me down the rabbit hole of wondering about Adrenal Booster on a Warshade. 33% uptime, 30% recharge, 50% +ToHit and 30% damage. Two "dead" powers to get to it (although on a WS the travel power isn't totally useless), but Khelds specialize in "dead power picks" anyway after level 38.
-
Fair enough. Personally I think Khelds are unfairly locked out of *some* Pool Powers and therefore Build Options if you decide to go multiform. Squids are great and all but not THAT great. Also there's a disconnect with how some pools work. I mean anything clickie (like Hasten or RoP) has no "form penalty" but toggles do. That's odd behaviour.
-
The new powexec_location cursor should work nicely with that (and Wormhole actually). Must try that out.
-
Those toggles should surpress. Leadership and other pool powers should be allowed to run while shifted.

Haven't forgotten this. I've added a summary of Drops to the parser now. I've also updated the index page very slightly to allow previous UUIDs to be passed in the URL. https://www.carnifax.org/?uuid=2b1dcadd-6b40-4de4-a7db-2a87d9798e1c For example

I've no idea. I know it's fun and I ended up with the purple confuse set.
-
Dunno about Almighty but here's a Plant/Stormie run I just did on an Asteroid. Just one map run. Quicker than yesterday because I purpled out Seeds & then realised I was sitting on 100 Emp Merits, 500 threads and only had Reactive at Tier 1... Creeper Vines are a total aggro magnet. No such thing as "aggro caps" for them, they suck the entire map into the middle, I confuse them and let Freezing Rain, Ice Storm and everything else do their thing while I spam the AOE Immob. https://www.carnifax.org : UUID : 56ff8533-57dc-4251-a4e2-9f09105eeef6

I've been running them as a Hoverfarm on my Plant/Storm, just for giggles. Not massively quick (5-6 mins a pop) but hilariously fun. Mostly it was to earn the extra 3 Purples she needed for a full set of Seeds Best Friend.
-
Also one simple tweak on your build. For some reason you're missing out on 5% Ranged Def because you've only taken 5 of the 6 purple Confuse procs in seeds. 6 slot it with Coersive (or, if like me you're cheap 6 Malaises). And for Creepers I did a few +0x8 Council parsed runs with the different proc types. Damage procs are best, then Trap of the Hunter, then Impeded Swiftness and finally the KB one. Hits by proc. Bombardment (Dam) : 161 + 57 = 218 Explosive Strike (KB) : 22 + 15 = 37 Impeded Swiftness (Slow) : 32 + 55 = 87 Javelin Volley (Dam) : 161 + 69 = 230 Posi's Blast (Dam) : 175 + 62 = 237 Trap of the Hunter (immob) : 132 + 0 = 132
-
As 5099 says you want your Procs in Creepers (I disagree with them on slotting up your AOE Immob for Procs too, on your build they have 13% to proc. Meh). Procced up creepers does A LOT of work. I mean "half of your overall damage on an ITF" damage. That's based on me running one yesterday and parsing the results : If you want to browse the ITF Combat Parse I ran yesterady go to https://www.carnifax.org and enter the UUID 40f01a0d-a7ce-4113-9c2f-3afa2414778f Then pick my last Lacewing entry : My Build is Ice Epic but here's a "palette swap" version with Mu instead.

issue 27 Patch Notes for April 20th, 2021 - Issue 27, Page 2
Carnifax replied to Jimmy's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
This. I was one of the people shouting at them that Sorcery was now poop and making it was a waste of Dev resources if it was being left in that state. And it got a rework. And I can only applaud that, even if I still don't agree with the original nerf. -
Yup, I like stone on any Controller which likes to be in close. Pity the Armour is so visible. But Faultline and Seismic are gold. If you've skipped Fighting Earths Embrace will take Resist sets so the two Resist +Def uniques can go in there (if you're taking Ice Frozen Armour can do the same job).
-
Resistance resists resistance debuffs. So if I hit someone with a 20% debuff and they have 50 percent smashing resist they'll end up at 40% So my 100 points of damage goes from doing 50 points to 60 (a 20% increase on what I would have done) If I hit them with another 20% from a different power it'll go to 30 (the original figure is always used to resist the debuff) And they can totally go below 0.
-
It does though. They work in multiplicity together, if you have lots of +dam already then some -resist is very attractive indeed. -resist applies to you and your team though which makes it very useful on teams (assuming your resist is aoe or everyone is beating up the same thing)
-
Base I don't think so. If nukes and Tier 9 Blaster secondary / Stalker / Scrapper powers (which are of course mostly single target) can't manage it nothing can I reckon. Judgements are silly things.

Debate: Softcap for non-melee/defensive ATs often not worth it
Carnifax replied to Zeraphia's topic in General Discussion
This is my take on it too. A lot of my choices are also based on the fact I don't bother much with Purples (other than procs) and Winters, so my builds tend to go for Def & Recharge from non-purple sets. With a few choice powers for proccing up. I don't sweat it too much if I drop a few % off softcaps though because I wanted some natty power instead of Fighting, or even an Epic pool. And I generally only worry about 1 thing to cap, depending on the character (except my Plant/Storm who hit S/L and ranged caps almost by accident somehow). -
Usual way. Talk to a Hero Corp rep or, beside your Chat (where you type) is a little Speech bubble icon. Click that and in the popmenu there are options for setting the relative levels of enemies and how many heroes you "count" as. So you can use those two to give yourself a diff suited to your character (Stalkers might prefer fewer, harder enemies, an AoE machine might like lots of easier enemies)
-
Don't like this as a solution because it prevents high recharge builds stacking patches against really tough opponents like AV fights. I mean if things are dying so quickly then you don't need that patch. I much prefer knowing that in an AV fight I'm layering down a decent amount of -res. It seems like a solution to something which isn't a problem

What to make now to take advantage of new changes?
Carnifax replied to Bionic_Flea's topic in General Discussion
I've an Ice/Traps with fold space, arcane bolt and nu-stealth ready to go. I debated on Enflame too but on beta the damage still didn't seem to be worth it. That was pre the NoFlee change though. -
Nope, the cap hits 1st, then the Purple Patch / Level modifiers kick in. So it doesn't matter if you've 45% Def or 95% Def, that +4 enemy will be hitting you more than 5% of the time (7.5% I think for +4 Minions). Incarnate content is different. They essentiallly have a 12.5% ToHit bonus welded in (ToHit directly opposed Def hence why the Incarnate cap is 57.5%). So you can overcap to battle Def Debuffs or ToHit buffs but overcapping has no effect on Level modifiers.
-
Some sets do, they're just old and showing their age. Empathy and Forcefield for sure. Probably Sonic and *maybe* Rad too. Doesn't have to be as extreme as the Trick Arrow changes but they do need modernisation IMO.
-
All toggles should supress rather than drop. That won't "solve" mez (which is fine) but it'll make recovering from it less painful for some sets (like Nature). As for self-buffs and the like I'd be in the "yes but" camp, where you examine each on a case-by-case basis. Empathy and Forcefield probably need some form of self-buff when you cast certain powers. Not full strenght but a percent of what they're doing normally. One way to make Support more useful in 45+ content would be to stop Incarnate powers working other than when you're in Incarnate content, and maybe one or two endgame TFs like Ms Lib (of course then Support will give out that their Clarion got taken away).
