  1. When ED was implemented they were planning the system they scrapped that IOs replaced. I don't think we ever had information enough on that system to say they were new enhancements. Edit: See the below. Pretty sure this was the sum total of what we were told.
  2. They likely didn't want to avoid perma because IOs weren't a big thing (or ... well, anything) when they were introduced. You got perma by (a) being on a team (b) with kinetics of someone else who could boost your recharge, so it'd encourage team play. (There were other little interactions between classes, too - I want to say extra damage if a Stalker AS'd a held target, for instance, but it's been a while.) Don't forget, inventions didn't exist until issue 9. The devs had been working on some *other* system which evolved into that. So they didn't design doms (or anything else) with the expectation players would be hitting perma-anything on their own. So, no, I don't think "you can permadom on your own" was what they were waiting for people to discover.
  3. At worst it looks (from a quick scan) that you'd break even on each by selling the superior (catalyzed) ones, at best, might make twice what you need for the regular versions. So, yeah, I'd agree - sell them and buy the non catalyzed versions you can use right away, then.
  4. Honestly, with the direction things seem to be going, my opinion right now is a depressed, cynical "hell with it, why not."
  5. Next up - all powers available from level 1, because it's still not fast enough. Including incarnates.
  6. No, you don't need to get Tough or Weave without any prerequisites.
  7. Section of a screenshot...
  8. Why do people hate powers that let you reposition enemies, especially ones that would otherwise be immob'd?
  9. Why? Why not. By a NoFX option, I mean it. No graphics at all for anything. You animate, enemies react. You have armor on... watch your buffs to see what you have on. Doesn't really affect weapons sets too much - you're still pulling out a weapon. Don't like (say) the Earth hold graphics? They don't show up on the enemy. They just stand there struggling. Yes, not original. it's been added piecemeal as people complain about not seeing their costumes. This is mostly just saying "expand it to absolutely everything." Why? Well, aside from the flexibility people seem to want with powers that are annoying to them for whatever reason, it leads to the other half of this - "DataFX." What is this? It's sort of a techy, targeting-system view. No power effects, just a line to your target (and if it can show a range readout, add that.) AOE? Circle around the target, whether targeted or placed. PBAOE buff or debuff? Circle of the appropriate area around you, potentially with a symbol showing what it is. Armor? Symbol next to or above you (probably the power icon.) Held enemy? Just has the held/immob/whatever above them. Why? *shrug* Why not. If it were available and someone didn't like it, they wouldn't have to use it.
  10. No they aren't. Nowhere near. You don't need to perma-anything or wait for incarnates for effective dominators. That's purely a playstyle choice (or crutch, depending.) Hell, I wish permadom weren't possible without teammate buffs, frankly. Same with most perma-whatevers.
  11. Group: - Mob is standing there. - Hit AOE immob. - Mob doesn't spread out from wandering, gets smashed with AOEs. Has nothing to do with DOTs, and all anyone needs to do is... pay attention to the way the mobs are set up. (Then again, you can push immob'd mobs together if you use hurricane or force bubble... OH WAIT THAT GOT GUTTED WITH THE NEW FFs.)
  12. My general thoughts / attitude - If you want to level quickly, don't play Praetoria. (Unless you just want the title.) I almost exclusively solo any Praetorian because, to me, the point of the zone exists in the storylines and choices, and teams just make you rush past it (and make choices you might not go with.) I generally *don't* play Praetoria in part because it was created in the era of "KNOW WHAT'S FUN? AMBUSHES! MORE AMBUSHES = MORE FUN!" and ... blah. Praetoria makes more sense as a storyline than a "side," frankly.
  13. Incorrect. I have zero doms with permadom and they're perfectly fine. Yes, from level 1 onwards. Domination already builds as you use your powers, and builds faster on teams.
  14. Amazes me that anyone would think an immob is useless...
  15. The problem with that is that the clubs/event people want these characters visible, as their bios (and often their names) have things like base passcodes and event information, so they're kept in a public space (typically, but not always, Pocket D.)
  16. Fairly sure they just fire off a macro (or a few) with the announcement. And if you have them on a task force (or AE, I *think,*) they'll stay connected versus going AFK. As I recall, at least.
  17. No, no, they want a professor, not a hooker. ;)
  18. Oh, I don't know, on my blaster I'll often start Meteor, hop in, fire off Rock Shards and the combination leaves nice, big ex-spawns. But, yeah, I lead that with meteor and take advantage of the time it takes.
  19. Ahh. Missed that one. Makes sense, then.
  20. AE tickets... eh, why not. Same with the prismatics. Easy self transfer is a thing. V-merits ... can be converted into reward, and then hero merits, at a 30:1 ratio. So they are somewhat transferrable, just not directly. My only thing with creating a "super V-merit" is that there's not much to spend them on, other than converting to reward merits. One shot to up storage, the HVAS, psy bomb, psy shield and curse breaker (which mostly has use in one arc plus the alpha unlock arc- and then only really in Lady Grey's mission) - so for me that's kind of an ëhhhhh... why?"of the three.
  21. But @Psyonico, I could swear I just *heard* an echo... Well, read an echo. ... Can you read an echo if you're not a cardiologist?
  22. Assassin's chop. I'd play it just for the laughs. (Also, my first thought was Stalker BA? How does he sneak around with all those gold chains?)
  23. So it boils down to new gloves and new heads, basically? Other than maybe looking odd with some weapons (or hilarious... dual pistols, with everything coming out of dragon heads?) I'm up for more costume parts. Hmm... could we have an ïnvisible"option for the pistols?
  24. Not how things work. It's a suggestion forum. Your suggestion leaves a *lot* to be desired in implementation. It's barely past "Powername - does stuff,"and one power didn't even have that. You follow up by generally copping an attitude - which you do in pretty much all of your posts. How many times have you just put out "do your research"as an answer - or even a full post? No, you don't just get "positive feedback." If all you want to see in response to whatever spaghetti you throw at the wall is öh it's wonderful!"and sunshine and rainbows, it's not happening. You get feedback - both on the powerset, which is how it started (even with someone mentioning Ï like the idea of a metallic powerset, but..." which *could* have led to discussion back and forth - "This is what I have in mind, this theme, oh, I need to clarify this, and it's different from that set in this way"- but, instead, you chose to respond with attitude, and attitude, and more attitude, while showing an apparent lack of understanding of how this game works. Also, if you want people to react positively to you? Cut out the: type responses. It'll only get you to JRanger level popularity... and that's not a good thing. (No, you're not getting your own slash response either.) And yes, it would *definitely* help if you actually put more of a description of just what you're trying to achieve with it. For instance, if we didn't have a fire armor set (yes, that means you have to pretend, here,) and you wanted to suggest it, sure, list power ideas and what they're doing - but a little extra behind them, and maybe an overall theme. "Fire in this game tends to focus on damage, damage, and more damage. I'd like to suggest a fire armor set with a focus on damage. It's not a defensive set, but all resists - obviously it can resist temperatures, being fire armor, but imagine, say, bullets melting before they hit you - so it's a resist. Plus it has powers to assist in dealing even more damage in return," and so forth. This way you can see what the poster is thinking of, both in theme and for the goal of the set, and how the powers would fit in - as opposed to what you posted, which was pretty much just power vomit. What we have from you is a list of power names, with a comment farther down that sounds like you want them to be exclusive to one another, and a crapton of attitude that just makes people want to throw you on ignore lists.
  25. You really should stop while you're behind.
