Issue 5 was released in 2005 and introduced Croatoa. I'm not aware of any server that's based on something that old. (And no, even hiding zones, all of red and gold side, etc. wouldn't be "i5.")

Feature request: Let me change / scale the font size in the mod list/descriptions. Thing's fine on my main PC - 32" screen after all - but I hopped in COH on my laptop (15" screen,) realized I didn't have vidiotmaps installed there, grabbed COH Modder and... dang, can't read a thing (and ctrl-scroll doesn't affect the size.)

If I want to play the game, I'm in the game. I then look for other people who are also in the game and interested in playing the same thing, through either friend/global friend lists, SG rosters or LFG (or just screaming in broadcast.) No "Sure, I'll play, I'm 15 minutes away at the store though." Or suddenly finding the game won't launch or whatever. Why the *heck* would I use another program? The uses I have for discord are: - Supplemental RP - General BS. - Teaming wise? Typically just "Hey, not going to be on next week" to give the SG a heads up so they know what's going on. The closest I come to "teaming" information is something like using it on my phone to mention the power or internet in my home went out if a friend or my SG mates are expecting me.

Not that I recall.

Reactivate Shadow Cyst Crystals and Voids and
Greycat replied to Jiro Ito's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
All the time playing since I3, I honestly never was the target of any of that on my Khelds. As for the OP - yeah, I'd love to have those back. -
Yeah, it's just not being able to make *other* characters the set's missing on in there. :)

Back in the early days of PVP, I had people *hate* my energy/energy brute. They couldn't see her, couldn't teleport her, and *every* attack had a stun slotted in it that would take it. Then we had things like billion-inf IO builds and i13 come in. *shrug* But it was fun, and that's where I go to when thinking of stuns.

Powers tend to lag pretty far behind in AE. Depends on dev time. Just in general, I'd like AE updated to match existing powersets, as an aside. And, yeah. Time Melee paired with a Time Armor would be interesting. (By "paired," honestly, I mean more "released at the same time," not so much "need to have the two together.")

intangible/unhealable characters
Greycat replied to Communistpenguin's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Honestly, I don't think there'd be much confusion between Absorb (covers part of the name/HP bar) and this sort of untouchable (entire bar goes grey.) It's fairly distinct in the phased-out sections mentioned before. -
(Sorry, yeah, big image dump, but still.)

Ooh. So apparently I did get some of what that's from. Looks like an old (I'm guessing, from the group names - there's another page that lists the Carnies as "Soul Scavengers") fan page, or fan page with dev/official page info... Not an official page, looks like someone gathering info as th elinks want to go to a (probably long dead) Verizon page.

Wasn't sure where else to put these, I didn't even recall these. But they ended up in a backup folder of mine... I know I have more somewhere. I think I even have a copy of the old fansite kit.

Currently: I can stand at range and taunt. I do not end up in the middle of a mob as a result, aggroing the lot of them. OP's suggestion: Taunt, wind up teleported (or whatever) there in the middle of a mob I don't want to be in the middle of. Yes, that is *objectively worse.* Saying "it doesn't affect anybody's build" is a flat out lie and you should be (but I can tell won't be) ashamed, as to get *original, useful* functionality back would require respeccing, dropping that power and going into a power pool - if they can fit that into their build. Yes, that's "objectively different." So would making Confront into a power that turns your character into a flowerpot for five minutes. Frankly, the second would be more useful, as it would at least be amusing during RP. "Different" is not "better" or even "more interesting." Also, no.
-
To change it in a way that makes it *objectively worse.* I, currently, can taunt one problematic mob out of a group. I do not need to take a power pool to do that. Turning this into a "closer" putting me *into the middle of the mob I'm trying to remove a problematic single mob from* makes that impossible. It is objectively worse. If I wanted to move into the middle of the group, I would use... sprint. Or my travel power. Or combat teleport, which, if I feel is useful, I can take out of a power pool *and use as the situation demands.* The nice thing is, my way... affects *nobody's current build.* And keeps a useful power useful. And no, I don't care what 95% of scrappers do or don't do. Loud people insist you MUST be perma-this, capped-that, take hasten in every build, etc. too. Strangely, the game is perfectly playable and enjoyable without any of that. I don't care what any of *them* say, either. Frankly, sounds like the OP needs to stop worrying about what other games do and play COH.

Read your own sentence a few times until you achieve understanding. Then re-read the *multiple* posts explaining the loss of functionality for something much *less* useful, and *why* it's much less useful. Bonus points for reading my prior post re: the results of the live devs wanting to remove powers from patron pools. What's funny is the position of your post, vs the post right above yours... You: RIGHT ABOVE THIS POST: "I haven't seen it" doesn't mean "people don't use it." Which also means the suggestion *would be removing functionality people are using actively.* Including me. Me having to completely redo builds for someone whose argument is "well, other games have it?" No.
-
Because you refuse to seem to understand, there is *no need for a gap closer.* If there were, it would be in the game as a standard melee power now. Yet people have been playing since issue 0 to 2012, some between 2012 and the server release, and from then to now without one. This very obviously shows it is not a *need,* just a *want* on your part. This is not "every other game." If it were, people would not have been so upset about COH closing and would have moved on to ... every other game. If this is the crux of your argument, that "every other game" has it (show your work) so COH should, too? You have no argument and should quit while you're behind. And with falling to insulting everyone else as "needing help from a professional" for not agreeing with you? Here's an idea. If you think everyone else is crazy... the problem may not be everyone else. You may want to take a nice, relaxing break.

No, the change is forcing a change on everyone who *already has built this with existing powers* and is using it as currently designed. And is doing it in a way that has been *repeatedly explained* as being detrimental. This is the sort of thing the cottage rule was first mentioned for. And know what? The live devs tried this exact thing (power replacement) once before - when they were going to "update" the Patron pools and get rid of "unpopular" or "unused" (by whatever metric) powers and replace them with something else. You'll notice we have five powers in those pools (and others) now. The devs decided to go with five because they didn't feel like being tarred and feathered by *every player who was already using those powers as designed into those pools.* I was in that beta. Torches and pitchforks were being brought out. The OP's suggestion removes functionality and *completely changes* what those powers do for something that is (A)unwanted, (B) not helpful and (C) duplicates functionality that can already be picked up in a power pool pick. In fact, it doesn't even "cost" a power, as the OP obviously doesn't want confront - which means there's a freed up power pick there which can be used to pick up combat teleport, teleport, or (if they already are in the leaping pool) spring attack. (Of course, it doesn't address the "And add it to assassin's strike, too!" which is just pants-on-head ridiculous.) Also, my defense of the status quo here and extreme dislike of the suggestion means *nobody's playstyle is changed.* Nobody has to dip into a power pool (and rebuild a build they already like, possibly a more extensive rebuild if they already have four pools chosen) to *retain functionality they already have.* If you don't see the difference there, don't know what to tell ya.

That is an opinion. Not a fact. Given we've been playing these sets since the early 2000s successfully without one, barring... what, two sets that mostly have them for flavor (Shield and Electric Melee,) I'd say it's fair to say your opinion is not, in fact, backed up by... well, fact. This is not a "they need." This is a "You want." And there are options for 'you want.' Taking the leaping pool? One more pick gets you spring attack. Combat teleport's available. Boom, done, and not affecting the play of anyone who does *not* want one and hasn't needed one since - as mentioned - the early 2000s. Examples of what this would hurt were given earlier. I have zero need for a "gap closer," and losing confront would, in fact, hurt my playstyle. There are times I do not want to teleport into a group, but just get the attention of a specific something. Or other times it is absolutely unneccessary - as I mentioned, mothership raids being a popular one for me (taunting a grate to gather rikti. I don't want to teleport to the grate. If I did, I'd ... take teleport and do it myself.) If you feel it's "essential" to your playstyle, you have options. Do not force your playstyle on everyone else who's been doing just fine without it, thanks.

The mitos or the buds? Assuming mitos. Honestly the only "special" thing a character needs is flight, and you don't even have to respec for that - grab a jetpack. If you're looking for someone who can switch-hit between the melee, range and control teams, I'd suggest a blaster or dominator. For instance, my elec/elec/fire blaster has range (duh,) melee in the secondary (enough attacks to keep going,) and between tesla cage and the fire APP, two holds to cycle through. Only thing she's not doing is taunting.

There is. Don't recall what it's called, though.

Can I pull old binds off the server? Lost my saved files...
Greycat replied to Vulpoid's topic in General Discussion
Yeah. /bindsavefile helps. (I have a folder of binds backed up since... early on live that I still use. Especially for Kheldians and Masterminds. )
