  2. You would be wrong. Certain effects affect people differently. People can be perfectly fine with 99.9% of the powers, normal and recolored, in game and have just *that one* that affects them. And no, the thread is not "absurd." See our GM's reply. If a certain graphic or effect is affecting you, what other players think is irrelevant. Let the team know.
  3. So, for a while on live, screenshots (if .jpgs) had extra data added to them if you went into properties. If I look at some from 2011, I've got (Title) with the names of the characters in the shot, and it's automatically tagged "City of Heroes, COH, (zone, coordinates, map)" THe earliest ones don't have this (that I have, starting in issue 3 or so,) and they seem to come and go - current screenshots also don't have this. I'd love to have an option to turn this tagging back on (and/or custom options,) just because on the ones that DO have this I can look at them and go "Oh, what was that character's name, that was fun... Oh, that was superblastyguy when we were playing Hellion Golf in Atlas, that's right!"

  5. Long as it's just another option and not the default, sure. (Though an indicator you can quickly see - even if it's just a combat attributes line, which granted it's not combat related, would be nice in that case.)
  6. This is *niche.* This is *painfully* niche, and solely as a result of me screwing around, and then looking into things more. So I wouldn't even call this a priority unless it happens to be affecting something else more important. Hell, let's just call it a "quirk I'm bringing up." P2W reinforcement - in this case, PPD reinforcement. 500k. Summon even as a level 1: comes in at level 10 minimum. (Which, itself...) Summon exemped down in a normal mission to level 1-2: Comes in as a level 10. Now, no, that's not the bug I'm reporting, since it's still (arguably) useful, and given the limited abilities (a blast, maybe two, and a melee attack.) HOWEVER: Purely for the hell of it (and about 2 bars worth of XP,) I took a lvl 34 character into AE. Mostly from curiosity, wanted to see one of the "bads" maps ("xp for any AT," this being the bbq map, gets a little low-level boost for single digit characters) got me at that level. Drops me down to level 1, capped there, as expected. Since I'm also being a touch impatient, I dropped the reinforcement as well. In *this instance,* it summons at level 1 (I'm assuming due to the level lock on the AE.) Not a problem, right? Well, at level 1, the reinforcement does *nothing.* Walks around, takes hits sure, but has exactly zero attacks it uses. It will wander around, take hits, and the closest thing it does to attacking is give a dumb look at the enemy. Doesn't even have brawl. Wouldnt' be an issue other than the 500k - but again, *so niche* of an issue...

I'd personally just make alts - you're going to play on the other servers, you'll get to 50 there, too, and you don't have to worry about any transfer issues or name losses. *shrug* But that's me. (And yes, I *do* have characters hanging out on all the servers.) I wouldn't be against it - or, for that matter, having a (reasonable, with "reasonable" TBD) number given on request.

  9. Personally, I'd love to completely block powerset/bonus listings. I don't need anyone feeling judgemental because I do or don't have something. Nobody else's damn business, as far as I'm concerned.

  15. The only difference is that debt in missions is halved. (And as mentioned, I *believe* mobs in PVP zones give more XP.)

  17. Stunning doesn't turn flight off for mobs. Some mobs actually *can't,* as I'm recalling a dev mentioning, not "fly" (and I don't just mean things like SKy Raider shield generators.) So within context of the game's parameters, it's working as intended. On top of it, as has been mentioned, there are so many reasons we can "fly" (magic, tech, inherent ability, etc.) that there's just no reason stunning should disable. A Kheldian in Nova form is (a) an energy being who (b) is taking the form of a creature in a world that doesn't have a surface and thus does nothing but fly, for instance. Stunning someone on a jetpack doesn't automatically mean the jetpack stops working. (Or equally comic-y things like anti-grav belts.) So within the game's parameters? Still no reason for stunning to disable flight.
  18. FWIW, the devs didn't "ruin" street sweeping. They did several things to make debt much less crippling, though, basically halving it in missions (introduced in issue 5, along with not getting debt 'til level 10 - inside OR outside of missions - and increasing XP for all mobs, inside or outside missions, after level 25.) And as I'm recalling, they did bump up XP for mobs in PVP zones. Granted, noticing this got lost in the Great Defenseapocalypse that some people still aren't over... ;) And while I agree some of this sounds self-inflicted (you don't *have* to go into fire farms, or do the task forces, there's quite a bit of content out there after all,) seeing some variety for things out in the world itself also wouldn't be bad. I'm half surprised we don't already have a purse-saver badge. Saving someone from a Tsoo shakedown sometimes gives the "If the Tsoo had gotten ahold of this it would hav ebeen bad!" giving an actual mission of some sort would be good. There's definitely options out there that could make it more interesting than getting some of the defeat badges or that last few hundred or thousand XP to level.
  19. Still get 6 merits, so I wouldn't say worthless. Or if three are stomping around, 18. And yeah, 3's the limit. I've never seen more than that from live to now (and I'm ... oh, 85% sure that stops a construction spawn from happening.)

If you look at my post (since I'm scratching my head on why you would think I'd see it as an attack on me, on top of me not being particularly invested in the idea,) I specifically put in an example of development on a rotation - both to avoid burnout and have other development get spotlight time. I *still* want to see old abandoned content get attention (the aforementioned blood of the black stream.)
  21. *Some* people/builds can solo them. You're seeing it more often now just from the age/experience level of the playerbase and rather stagnant content (which is not a complaint to or about the devs. Small volunteer staff, etc.) If it were "almost any build can do it solo" and people were doing it on SOs/common IOs without worry, then maybe. (And yes, Lusca was first soloed by an Illusion controller back in the day on live on SOs. It wasn't a quick five minute thing....)

  23. Ahh. We're going for realism. So, no more mediporter, since that doesn't exist, and most heroes will be dead by level 2-3 from all the bullets, fire, etc and flight not dropping with stuns won't be a problem since nobody will live long enough to take it. Done.
  24. Yeah. I argued for getting Sonic changed on live because it was causing friends to have to stop playing - it would trigger migranes. I dn't suffer from migranes, but it even bothered me. The revised Sonic - once you cut through posts of people being asses about it - still managed to trigger a reaction in one person (who hadn't realized he had a problem 'til his girlfriend mentioned him - I thin passing out? - during some part of Saw due to visuals and he saw a neurologist.) I hadn't heard of Hurricane doing this during all of live, but people don't like speaking up. (see "people being asses about it" re: Sonic.) Usually they need someone just bullheaded stubborn enough to bring it up and keep bringing it up. (*waves.*) It would help if they can experiement a bit and give a more "it's when it fills the screen," or the colors, etc. as mentioned above. If there's a setting they can change on their side that helps, great (and make sure that info's publicized.) If not, then *yes,* I would hope it'd be something a dev can tweak or find an option for or something. But the more info means there's more to work with to find a solution. (And no, I don't care if it's one person or a thousand.)

Reclaiming Praetoria would be something that even a "live" (IE, official, corporately supported and funded with full time development, art/asset and support teams) game would have to do over multiple issues, I'd say. It's just a massive project. Their Hamidon isn't the same as ours - insomuch as ours is basically contained and regularly pruned. (Yes, second zone has one in the Abyss, but .. that's pretty much for mechanical reasons so redside had a hami raid.) It would probably have to get stretched out *further* to prevent another case of burnout on the same storyline, so we'd be talking years of development *without* the team being volunteer. There are a lot of other storylines to continue (and create.) I mean, I'd see something like... (making issue #s up) I27: Prae hami tries either making contact with or eliminating Primal hami (somehow.) Everyone goes on alert. I28: Cleaning up the Folly. Crey's folly and related arcs. I29: something. I30: Battle at the Bastion - start stepping otu from last bastion, dealing with a Hamidon that's continually evolved. I31: Stuff... say, blood of the black stream. I32: Things I33: (expansion into more of Praetoria.) etc. Keeping content interesting, spread among ranges and themes. That itself would be 2-3 more years of live-team-type development, creating new assets and so forth. With our team (not saying this as a putdown, but "small, volunteer" and "missing some tools") that's probably at least a five year plan.
