  1. A mob being more resistant to a fire attack because it just happens to have come from more than 10' away doesn't make sense. They could just increase the health of the Force field generator so it doesn't go down so easily from AoE and would need a more concentrated attack or give it extra AoE defence.
  2. Do you always play solo? with a few buffs you could have capped resists. Stone armor will give a Brute close to 3k health also with better regen. You may be slower on a Pylon than a Scrapper/Stalker but a Pylon is not normal gameplay. Critical hitting a minion is probably going to be way overkill anyway and mostly wasted, the Brute would probably have one shotted it also.
  3. Yes fury boosts Brimstones damage but i am not sure on the exact %.
  4. Yes Bio on a tanker is quite sturdy but it depends on what you are facing. ITF is easier on my Bio than it is on my Rad or Dark. 90% s/l Resists and good regen with the heals/absorb is more than enough to stay in mobs pretty much indefinitely. Clearing the mobs faster with Bio helps. A secondary with good CC and clearing power helps also. Shield is much better than bio/rad/dark for ITF. My Rad does 801.5 a lot easier than my Bio though but i am 99% of the time in offensive stance. I have never built my Bio to be a super defensive tanker but more for damage whilst having decent survival. If i wanted a defensive Tanker i would probably roll a SA Granite Tank. Yes AoEs and PBAoEs are much better than cones at least for me anyway. Footstomp, Dark obliteration and a procced out DNA siphon clear trash very easily and Bio makes short work of bosses, for a Tanker anyway.
  5. I rolled a Bio/Rad tanker and that worked out well. Then i rolled a Bio/SS Tanker and that was even better and that is still my main now with Rad/SS second. The CC from SS helped Bio a lot. Spines with slow debuffs should work well also. I am now onto a SS/Bio brute that is working well. Pretty tough with lots of damage, good for solo but better in teams with buffs..
  6. Your claws/Sr could easily improve that damage and still be very survivable. Your tank wont get much more damage. 1 minute or so EM/Bio is achievable. I have an EM/inv Stalker that will do it. Very Tanky and yet 2 min or under pylons. I think they were buffed to speed normal content up solo at players request. Personally i do think they went a little OTT on giving them increased AoE but i think they went OTT on EM also. I like them now and wouldn't change them. Players do solo as they level they just don't tend to solo TFs. Why would you? it takes so long. Unless you are a sadist as some are, you included with 1.20 😛 and me lol Shield would be better on Tankers same with every other armor set. Scrappers etc are better damage by a large margin. Tankers are just better at taking damage not dealing it. Maybe or thereabouts. ITF buffed is more a survival contest than anything and the Tanker is going to win that one. But others win elsewhere.
  7. I think some of the best Sentinel Pylon times were with mind probe and dominate. Getting around 1 minute 50 seconds or so. But was quite a while ago i last saw that. Maybe it was @nihilii
  8. ITF with buffed mobs is more a survival game which Tankers excel at. What is the pylon time on your 1.20 ITF Shield/EM Tanker? Scrappers have far better pylon times than tankers, usually in less than half the time or more with Brutes some where in between. I doubt a Shield Tanker has twice the survival of a Shield scrapper. If your scrapper is hell on a pylon then it is likely it is built for dps and not survival and you shouldn't complain that it can't do what a Tanker built specifically to do ITF can do. Scrappers can do solo ITF they just need to build for it which means losing some dps to gain survival which most don't as it is a damage class. This is a multi player game not a solo game. Team up and get buffs etc. Those squishy blasters then just laugh at ITF and a scrapper will easily out dps a Tanker and be more than survivable enough to never die. Going off solo achievements in a multi player game is not a good reason to cry OP. /Shield is pretty OP anyway and that is not Tanker specific. I do think the MotTanker proc could do with a small tweak though.
  9. If scrappers could survive like a Tanker they would be seriously broken. A tanker may survive an ITF but it wont be fast. Why try to solo an ITF on a Scrapper anyway lol it's bad enough on a Tanker. Team up get buffed and be stupid tough with stupid dps 😛 Bio may not be the tankiest set but it is sturdy enough for most stuff especially on a Tanker. A defeated target is no threat and Bio does that very well whilst having enough survival to achieve that. Some sort of CC is always good though and a good build.
  10. Longbow Radial might be a good option. Heals AoE and single target and a 500% regen debuff for hard targets.
  11. Perhaps start a new thread as i am not really a main stalker player. Just wanted to point out this is an old thread just in case you hadn't noticed...easily done :).
  12. I think they will need to take into account Regen for Tankers with their ATO proc and higher health pool because it should be ported over to them at some point, along with EA :). If they are mitigating and healing too much constantly they will probably be too powerful. Bio works well as it has a few clickies that if you don't click in time or they are on cooldown you can actually get into trouble fast. Willpower works off more mobs leaving them reduced vs one big hard target and it has no other heals, at least on a Tanker is doesn't. They can be overwhelmed.
  13. Lol this is an old Thread. @Without_Pause @MoonSheep
  14. For the Primary i would probably go with /Shield Defence. Capped defences with high DDR and decent resists plus extra damage and an attack is hard to beat. SR and Invuln are good also but so are all Tanker primaries. For the secondary i would go Super Strength but as they may not work the best with /Shield due to the crash i would vote War mace next. Decent single and AoE damage that can slot FF procs and has good CC. Energy Melee is good for single target though if you prefer that over better AoE.
  15. You could go a Psychic Sidekick and have a retro costume. A vagabond type character cursed with Psychic abilities he can't control..... The Demented Man.
  16. Tier 1 fat little babies with their winkies out?
  17. What about a doppleganger set. They look like whatever you do when summoning. Then you can go roman or whatever you want theme. They could do a mix of Psi and lethal damage and would be a little like Illusion controls Phantom Army. If you want different looking summons then change costume before summoning.
  18. Energy Melee/Bio Brute T4 Musc Core, T4 Assualt Core (active), T4 Degen Core, T4 Ageless. Best time was 80 seconds with 2 misses. Worst time was 91 seconds in 5 runs. average around the mids 80s. I think a dedicated Pylon build sacrificing survival could well get close to the 70 second mark. The build was not a pylon only build. I started with no fury built up. Better times than the SS/Bio, by about 10 seconds, but i still prefer the SS as it has better AoE.
  19. I think /shield is best on a Tanker due to the ATO proc, but you give up Scrapper damage for it. If you want a heal you could always try EA.
  20. Footstomp can slot an FF proc. Rage buffs epic pool attacks. Rage gives +to hit also. Rage crash is a PitA. You could put a Miracle proc in the gamma slot for extra recovery.
  21. A /Shield tanker can get 70-80%+ to all resists except Psi with the ATO proc and incarnate capped defences woth 90%+DDR solo. Add some outside buffs from teammates etc and the resists can cap easily. Unbreakable defence and resistance at cap. Resist sets can cap resists and can get decent defence from outside buffs but the defence is easily strippable as they have no DDR. Defence sets can also get a Max health powers built in which resists sets do not get at all. As the content gets harder it makes a difference.
  22. Defence sets definitely seem to fair better as the content gets harder than resist sets or heal sets. I can do 801.5 on my /RadA easily enough but if i step into 801.7 it is almost instant death lol. It is built more for damage but i doubt going more tanky would save it 😛. /Shield or /SR for example have a much easier time. If they can not break through your defence you will be stupidly hard to take down.
  23. One thing to note is that a Scrapper won't need as much survival if a Tanker or brute are around as they will grab most of the aggro. The scrapper just needs enough to survive and if you are in a team you will probably be buffed anyway. Solo is a different matter though.
  24. I tried to click to Vote but it doesn't seem to be working :P. ill give my opinion instead and say pick the one that is going to be the least boring to you personally and maybe test them in the test server.
