Correct. I own no goats. Nor have I borne any from my own body...

And as for the people who kept it going, in secret for so long. THANK YOU! Yes, some people are salty it was kept hidden so long. But we have it now. And it'd take an act of God to dislodge us.

Stuck at "Checking if the site connection is secure"
Hyperstrike replied to biostem's topic in Help & Support
It's not hanging for me. But I'm seeing the check at every first connection to the site... As I hit the site multiple times a day, and I'm a screen real estate neat freak, I won't just leave tabs open. -
You should be able to game on it okay. And testing it to make sure it works properly won't hurt anything. If you are worried about heat, having it up on a stand will help with heat dissipation. And cooling pads for laptops are dirt cheap. https://www.amazon.com/LIENS-Cooling-Portable-Powered-Computer/dp/B08SW4RWWQ

Ryzen 7 5800 X3D is now $329 (Ryzen 5000 price drops)

https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-is-now-selling-ryzen-7-5800x3d-for-329 AMD has implemented some major discounts on their Zen3 processors. Lower prices have now been updated on the official AMD US store. While most CPUs were seen with lower prices already, the most interesting SKU equipped with 3D V-Cache is now discounted to $329. This is the lowest price for this CPU according to multiple price trackers. AMD Ryzen 5000 pricing (official US store): Ryzen 9 5950X: $799 → $549 ($250 discount) Ryzen 9 5900X: $549 → $349 ($200 discount) Ryzen 7 5800X3D: $449 → $329 ($120 discount) Ryzen 7 5800X: $449 → $249 ($200 discount) Ryzen 5 5600X: $299 → $159 ($140 discount) AMD Ryzen 5000 series pricing, Source: AMD So overall, AMD is lowering prices on their CPUs by up to $250 for the 16-core part and $120 for the 5800X3D. Even the 5600X is now $140 cheaper. Furthermore, AMD is also giving away Uncharted Legacy with all purchases of Ryzen 5000 series through this store. These are the lowest prices for 5800X3D in the US right now. MicroCenter’s price is $369, Amazon is selling this CPU at $349, while Newegg has it listed at $331, however not all stores have them in stock. A quick look at other markets shows that 5800X3D is also getting cheaper in Europe, it recently dropped from €349. AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D is an 8-core CPU with additional 64MB of L3 Cache. This processor is considered a great choice for gaming on the AM4 platform and, unlike the new Ryzen 7000 CPUs and AM5 motherboards, does not require expensive DDR5 memory.

Well, the AMD lineup has dropped. $1000 for the 7900 XTX $900 for the 3900 XT No clue on actual performance yet. The specs look to be great. Now to see if the driver stack can actually handle it.

Team Butcher, and a bunch of flaming cooks from The Little Mermaid. "LE POISSONS LE POISSONS! HOW I LOVE LE POISSONS!" "First I stuff you with bread. You don't care... 'Cause you're dead!"
-
Unfortunately hard modes are basically there to justify teaming. Trying to solo-tank stuff like that isn't going to work.

Again, this is a desktop circa MAYBE 2012. If you're buying more or less NEW equipment, you're already WELL beyond even "recommended" requirements. The only thing I would recommend is avoiding Intel integrated video (Intel UHD, Iris should be fine) Or dedicated GPU. Beyond that, SSD, quad-core or better CPU, 8GB of RAM. That's it. You can pick up a brand new system under $600 that'll blow the doors off the game. It'll run the game at higher settings than you have any right running on a laptop. 1920x1080 MAX! Don't waste money on 4K gaming.

There's something nasty going on in the Windows 10/11 subsystem in the last few months that's completely cornholing Mids' ability to function. I was working on later versions of Mids that were fine one day. And, after absorbing Windows updates absolutely refused to function.

Honestly, on a fully build Invuln, you've mitigated most of the problems related to drains. Stuff actually has to be able to HIT you. And you have other tools involved in Recovery. On top of that, considering that resting Endurance consumption can be brought BELOW 1 end/sec (while sitting at 3+ End/sec Recovery. YES, trying to solo 4* +4x8 is going to wreck you. The point of that content is team cohesion. Not everyone standing back while the Tank/Brute solos it.

I've been interfacing with Razer since they were still showing off their Boomslang prototypes at GenCon. The basic designs? I've liked them, even if some weren't my particular cup of tea. Total show pieces. But the durability of their products have, according to a giant fat person I am FORCED see in the mirror every morning, ALWAYS BEEN SHIT. Sometimes it's just slightly shit. Sometimes it's been TOTAL shit. But always shit. And that's the absolute NICEST (but still honest) way I can phrase that. Sorry if my choice of grammatical punctuation causes anyone irreparable existential wangst. As a person who USES their computer on a daily basis, having crap break if you fart the wrong way is inexcusable.

Two words. HOMING BOULDERS

The game's AI can be really wonky at times. And sometimes the "ah close enough" nature of melee attacks hitting kinda makes the notion of sitting back and plinking unfeasible. GIANT FRICKING FOR INSTANCE. During the STF's last mission, LORD RECLUSE, to deal with ranged attackers, will quite literally leap PAST the first mezzanine of the tower. Not rocket flight. Not a hover board. Not even super-jump. He just JUMPS that far. Granted, with proper positioning, you can avoid him. Now trying doing stuff like that inside an indoor map instance. This sort of thing kinda argues for at least a SEMBLANCE of acknowledgement of Blapper principles.

Let me get a couple of stakes, a long piece of closet rod, and some rope...
-
I'm talking sheer "MOAR DAKKA!!!" volume of weapons.
-
Pfft. I prefer kinetic drop weapons (Rod from God) and orbital lasers. This way, once everything cools off, no residual radiation.
-
Pfft. My nephew's armory could spank yours about a dozen times over with less than half the stuff he owns... Yeah, he's kinda spoiled....
-
I don't have one. I'm just a hardware geek. My current rig is a Ryzen 9 5950x and an RTX 3070 Ti. The problem of miners and scalpers is greatly reduced. There's a few places that have them readily in stock for about $1000. Mostly Zotac models. Unfortunately, Zotac fiddles their board layouts so much, that if you ever want to water cool, you're screwed.

Yeah. COMPLETELY different animals nowadays. The i9 13900K is a 300W hotplate. Between that and a 4090, you're looking at 800W JUST for the GPU AND CPU. Honestly, if I'm looking top-end performance, it's going to be a LARGE liquid cooler (my 5950 is running a 420mm rad).
