  1. The best defense is a good offense; Roll up an archery/tactical arrow blaster and never look back!
  2. I shall give this a try. Thanks!
  3. It's almost a little sad if and when you get to that last power pick. Heck, sometime's it just bums me out when I've pretty much gotten and slotted every power I care about, on some characters...
  4. So I frequently play on a laptop with a smaller screen, (11.6"), so I use a string that I bind to a key, to shrink many of the commonly used windows down to about 80% of normal. I'll then use the /window_resetall to put them back to normal for when I'm on my main PC, (also bound to a key). Is there a command that will let me change *all* windows to 80%, instead of having to save a very long string to affect each one independently? Thanks in advance!
  5. The question is whether the current menu system permits transparent backgrounds; I cannot recall any of said menus having such a feature...
  6. I kind of feel like the "quickest" way to handle this AT would be to give it, say 4 mutually exclusive toggles, (or maybe your base form + 3 toggles), and have different effects baked into each power, based upon which toggle you have running. So if you had a melee toggle, a ranged toggle, a control toggle, and a support toggle, then each power would do something different, (again tied to which toggle you had one). Costume change binds could then complete the effect.
  7. Well, bio armor is really nice for the offensive buffs it gives you. I also really like claws for follow up and the fast recharging, quick attacks. The ranged attacks are also a nice plus. In general, though, claws suffers a bit from being lethal damage and having fairly low damage numbers, (but as mentioned earlier, bio armor can help mitigate that).
  8. Aren't there -kb IOs that can be slotted into sprint? It's only -4 mag protection, but that's still pretty good...
  9. Well, what does the lore say regarding how Kheldians "work"? Is it possible that they seek hosts who aren't otherwise inclined/empowered to otherwise be heroes? There have been a lot of ideas floating around to allow 1 character to play multiple archetypes, and while I'm all for shapeshifters, such an ability may be too good or otherwise not worthwhile at all...
  10. Maybe something like this: 1. Hip shot - Basic single pistol attack dealing minor lethal damage. 2. Steadied shot - Stronger single pistol attack, dealing moderate lethal damage and slightly lowering the target's defense. 3. Marksman - Toggle granting a moderate tohit buff, (slightly higher buff than tactics or the same value with a lower end cost, since it'd only affect yourself). 4. Double-tap - Heavy single pistol attack. Additionally, it'd have a narrow cone to reflect its ability to penetrate several targets. It'd also have a good chance of knocking the target down. 5. Hollow-point ammo - a passive/auto power that increases the damage of your pistol attack and grants them a DoT component.
  11. Well, if you went with an archery/tactical arrow blaster, you basically have all attacks and like 1-2 toggles. It's actually pretty fun, too!
  12. I'd love to have things like guns, wands, staves, gems, or other such objects/props as options for all relevant powers. For instance, maybe I want to take beam rifle, but have it come from a crystal skull, etc.
  13. Once you hit level 35, you should be prompted to talk to an arbiter in Grandville , who will direct you to choose one of Recluse's lieutenants. This may help...
  14. Almost all of the Patron Power Pools have some sort of pet/summon. It'd be awesome if hero APPs got a similar option, (maybe Longbow, Wyvern, or PPD themed). I'd love to see some of the more sought-after attacks expanded to other areas - maybe a whip or bird-summoning APP for controllers or scrappers. Cheers!
  15. I'm somewhat in the same boat. What's helped me to focus on individual characters is to come up with a character concept and/or costume that I love. Being able to develop them, or even just make alternate costumes to help me realize certain offshoot ideas can keep me going. For instance, let's say I'm playing a ranged character, but I really like someone's ninja concept. Perhaps I'll figure out some way to fit in a concealment power or 2 into the build. Maybe I'll sneak in a melee power or just stick to close-range combat for a bit. Those sort of things can help suppress the alt-itis for a while...
  16. Through clever costume and power pool use, can can pretty much do this. If you include the alternate builds, you gain even more flexibility. Imagine if, for instance, you rolled a sentinel, built if fairly normally, but for your secondary build, you tapped into the fighting pool to give it more of a melee focus - you could do a lot with that, conceptually...
  17. Well, my idea was more to fulfill a sort of hunting blind or sniper's nest effect. Maybe it could be a location-based power, where those stepping into it gain stealth? Maybe it grants a short duration damage buff, while inside of it? *shrugs*
  18. How would persistent effects work, and how quickly can the change(s) be pulled off? For instance, if my base form was a shield tanker, could I click active defense, then change into my rad defender form, give myself AM, and finally switch to a blaster and just devastate enemies? Would all such buffs be dropped between forms? What about longer-lasting debuffs that you could apply? Would they cancel out as soon as you change forms? IIRC, and to use your example, didn't Cutey Honey have her combat form, and the rest were profession-centric, (like a professional racer form, a doctor form, etc)? Maybe focus on that aspect of the character instead? You functionally have the same powers across all forms, except for maybe switching out a few key powers. There would be 4 "forms" that you unlock at different levels/milestones throughout your career. Perhaps your base form would be one of these, or would be a very underwhelming one that only used some simply pistol or martial attacks, and you had to build up a bar in order to change forms. These forms could be named "brawler form" for the melee-centric one, "marksman form" for the ranged attacker, "exploiter form" for the control-heavy one, and "supporter form" for the buff/debuff/healing one. For instance, maybe you have various "expertise" powers, which translate into different abilities like this: Dark Expertise: 1. Shadow punch (brawler form), dark blast (marksman form), shadow binds (exploiter form), twilight grasp (supporter form)
  19. I was thinking about that. Maybe have the set use a bayonet-equipped rifle, and have that be the melee attack instead...
  20. The gist of this power pool is to provide some basic skills and abilities that would help one survive "out in the wild". It's intended to be fairly low-key, but useful. The powers are: 1. Survival knife - A simple, minor lethal-damage attack with a short bladed weapon, (would allow use of the 1-handed blade models for customization). 2. Basic marksmanship - A basic rifle attack, dealing moderate lethal damage. Has a chance to deal a minor lethal DoT effect. Can use the various rifle weapon models for customization. 3. Camouflage - A simple stealth power, only it provides a moderate damage and defense buff when you aren't detected. It would not provide any bonuses once you are detected, however. 4. Poultice - A mixture of medicinal herbs or compounds applied to oneself for the treatment of injury. A minor HoT effect that provides some resistance to sleep or stun while it is in effect. 5. Preparedness - A click power with a long cooldown, which grants moderate damage absorption and a 2-magnitude rating against knockback, hold, stun, and immobilize effects. Your thoughts? Thanks for reading! EDIT: Forgot the 5th power... D'Oh!
  21. I wonder if the game can differentiate fall damage from other forms of damage. If so, then something like a buff with a semi-long cooldown which heals you if you take fall damage, could work, (or a highly specialized damage shield which couldn't be stacked with tough, weave, other defensive powers or IO set bonuses).
  22. Well, one option would be to make SJ completely negate fall damage, but this would have other ramifications. Your suggestion, if implemented, would basically make SJ another "must have" power like tough or weave. Alternatively, just don't jump to the maximum height, use steam jump or the jump pack, or otherwise deal with the small amount of damage.
  23. Flight will also "deal damage to you" if you fall too far. SJ simply increases your jump height; It doesn't make you immune to fall damage. As long as you jump and land exactly has high as the power permits, you won't take damage...
  24. It'd be nice if they had a basic single pistol power pool, and maybe something like a hunting rifle or survivalist power pool. Maybe just a general "small arms" power pool with a knife attack, pistol attack, something akin to the body armor power from the APP, and a rifle attack.
  25. I was having this issue, and this fixed it up for me. Thanks!
