Just as an FYI, the APPs/PPPs have 5 powers in each...

New option for Cryonic and Pyronic powers.
biostem replied to captainstar's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I have no argument with you from a "wouldn't it be cool" standpoint; It's the actual implementation that'd need work. -
I would do: Ms. Liberty - have her patron powers be somewhat tied with Longbow Manticore - connected with Wyvern Blue Steel - PPD Positron - I'm not sure which heroic faction his pet would be drawn from, (maybe the PPD influence could be split with Blue Steel, where Positron gets the power armor or robotic units and Blue Steel would get awakened, psi-division, or just some beefed up plain clothes units. Beyond the group affiliations mentioned above, I think the types of powers they'd grant would be pretty straightforward, (except for Ms. Liberty): Manticore: Archery/Trick Arrow, perhaps with street justice melee attacks included, where needed, and probably super reflexes or maybe willpower armor powers. Blue Steel: I'd give his pool pistol and war mace attacks, with shield defense armors. Positron: radiation blasts, melee attacks, armors, etc. For Ms. Liberty, I'd have her pool consist of martial arts melee attacks, invulnerability armors, and a few electrical blasts as needed. EDIT: Thinking on this further, it would be cool to have Valkyrie as one of the patrons, then we could get her spear throw and maybe an animated sword pet, (yeah I know technically it's battle Maiden that had those, but w/e they're cool!). Also, Infernal would be an easy one to find powers for.

Forgive my ignorance, but is there a pun in the name, or is it an homage, that I'm just not seeing?

Frankly, having to re-setup the power trays, all the attributes I want to monitor, etc, is the biggest hurdle to getting into a new character, for me. I can love the concept, the costume, the At and powersets, but having to arrange all the windows/GUI just how I want, can really put me off to the whole experience, so this kind of QoL improvement would be much appreciated!

Does the value of the -tohit vary significantly between tankers and brutes? (Not at my gaming computer to check)

Can they set these mobs to a) not move from their spawn point and b) to de-spawn if the one who caused them to spawn goes out of range, (granting no XP)?

New option for Cryonic and Pyronic powers.
biostem replied to captainstar's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It's all about the animations and their duration; There are fire and ice breath attacks already, but they have very specific cast times. You'd need breath animations that are properly timed for each and every attack... -
Another option, which may be a bit controversial - either cap the enemies to the max level of the zone, or simply don't permit players to interact with glowies in zones that they've outleveled.

Powerset Concept: Staff Blast [Working Title]
biostem replied to Ishiga's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Now we need an assault rifle, beam rifle, and dual pistols set where, instead of simply attacking WITH said weapon, you physically THROW them at the enemy... -
20th Anniversary Q&A - Question Submission Thread
biostem replied to Arcanum's topic in Announcements
My question is for everyone/anyone: Was there a particular art/comic style you were looking to emulate/pay homage to, when coming up with the look & feel for City of Heroes? -
Add player custom chat color to emotes
biostem replied to PoptartsNinja's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Do you mean that text using the emote command should take on the custom chat colors, or are you looking for some sort of tinting to be applied to the emotes that actually entail your character moving/posing? -
Fallout Tv Series (Amazon Prime)
biostem replied to Frostbiter's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
The first few episodes reminded me of "Lucky Number Slevin", where he kept getting hit in the face/nose... -
IIRC, the original ATs were kind of designed around the signature heroes, with their APPs being added to kind of give them access to powers they couldn't normally get, whereas the villain ATs had their PPPs specifically designed around each of Reclues's lieutenants. Further, some signature powers, like Statesman's lightning, are actually Incarnate powers. What do you envision these proposed "Heroic Patron Power Pools" looking like, and which specific characters would they be based off of?

TBH, I dabbled with specialized gaming mice in the past, but my current outlook is to buy a decent, but inexpensive "standard mouse", use it until it breaks or I get bored, then replace it. You can get some pretty decent ones on amazon or ebay for like $5, but if you've got time to spare, you can even find some on aliexpress for under $2.

I want to build a MM that can lead from the front. I don't really need help with the primary set, but am instead seeking suggestions on what secondary to take. Let me outline a few things I want for this character: 1. 24x7 status protection 2. Some defense-granting powers for myself and my minions, not to mention as LotG mules 3. I don't want to have to wait to accumulate a lot of inf to buy necessary IOs to achieve this, nor do I want to have to wait until I've unlocked Incarnates to get said status protection. Given teh above, what are your thoughts? My current front-runner secondaries are force field, sonic, electrical affinity, or traps. I was also considering a combination of cj/acro and rune of protection to provide the status protection, but that'd require a lot of powers invested into the respective pools...
-
Hmm... I imagine a power like this would have to first check that you have some minimum number of living pets, kill/defeat them all, lock out the respective powers, and only then, trigger the temporary "power suit" power. I wonder if such a power could simply overlay a larger wireframe version of the assault bot overtop your character, granting you an array of powers normally possessed by your minions, for the power's duration...
-
I dunno about you, but I find it much easier to gain levels at 50+, since you have all your powers and are probably better slotted than pre-50. Of course a lot depends upon your specific AT & build, but that's my general experience...

Make the Experienced Power Able To Be Deleted
biostem replied to Rudra's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I'm sure @Rudra can speak for themselves, but I believe it's the "please stop helping" kind of mindset, where they do not want any outside assistance, whether it be free XP or anything else... -
I mean, you can adjust the UI scale. Also, do those windows *not* give you the resize option if you move your cursor to one of the corners?

Make the Experienced Power Able To Be Deleted
biostem replied to Rudra's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I wonder if that was done to prevent people from deleting it by accident, and therefore save the devs/GMs from having to handle requests to have it restored... EDIT: What about an option to simply "hide" unwanted powers - they'd still exist on your character, they just wouldn't be visible, unless you opt to "unhide" them... -
What would probably have to be done is: 1. You pick either the close-quarters or support set for yourself. 2. The above choice then filters out what options you have for your secondary. 3. The secondary choice could then setup a system by which that NPC member of the dyad gets some starter powers and can actually use them, (think in terms of a custom AE NPC, just adjust the level to that of the main player's). As for your concerns about the other member of the dyad "behaving" - that's kind of what the "help me out here" click power that I mentioned above, would do. It's not perfect, but I think it could work...
-
I wonder if Krea tries to like create each part of the face separately, or otherwise doesn't understand what to do if half the face is in shadow or if there's anything on the face, (glasses, goggles, masks, etc), as I've had results where 1 eye is off, or said eye accessories are interpreted as facial markings...
-
I don't envision the other member of the dyad/duo/whatever you want to call them, as an actual power - they'd simply exist next to the one you are actually controlling. It would be more like you're playing a "mini-tanker" alongside a "mini-defender".
-
This is why Sentinels have become my go-to AT; I like the ranged attacks, and the armor secondaries allow me to solo much more easily. As a blaster, you'll need to take advantage of the element of surprise and perhaps grab a stealth power or IO, so you can pick and choose what battles you want to initiate. You'll also need a high degree of situational awareness so you can identify and take out any particularly problematic enemies first...
