If you're worried about outleveling content, turn off your XP. If you're running content just for merits, then stick to Apex/Tin Mage runs - better XP & merits/hr than regular missions. If you think that you should have gotten the merits, then maybe submit a support ticket or file a bug report?

Sure, but not multiple enemies and for protracted battles, (or at least that's how I envision them performing).

IMO, Kheldians are only "slot-hungry" because taking Nova and/or Dwarf forms gives you like 5 powers for the price of 1, not to mention all the other freebie powers they get from their versions of flight or teleportation pool powers. If we take into consideration all the free slots they get as a result of this, they can be quite far ahead of other ATs in terms of total available slots - it's just moving past the urge to have all your powers 6-slotted that's the difficult part...

Totally understandable. Using the fire/atomic blaster you mentioned in the OP, I'd adjust my approach slightly. For instance, while I'd still take some sort of stealth-granting power, (even if it's just superspeed's inherent stealth), I'd also try to fit in something like combat teleport, then use the element of surprise to drop an aimed/built-up atom smasher while radioactive cloud is toggled on, ideally using positron cell to hold your most concerning enemy in the group...

For me, if you want to successfully solo as a "squishy" AT, I tend to prefer a stealthy approach that allows me to begin fights on my terms, and from a position that best leverages all the tools at my disposal. Now, I generally stick to range on my blasters, but I find that area denial and soft mez effects, really shine, here...

IIRC, damage, in isolation, does factor into where you are placed on an enemy's threat list/queue, but many "aura" powers, (at least for the armor sets), also include an additional threat mechanic, (now whether this just "adds" to you placing with the aforementioned threat list/queue I cannot say), but my point is that powers that directly apply a taunt do so in addition to whatever threat those powers/abilities would have done, otherwise...

IMHO, if a particular enemy hasn't been defeated after the first opening volley, then that scrapper or stalker should find themselves in a very disadvantageous position, whereas a longer drawn-out battle should further fuel that brute's fury. increasing their damage even further...

Combat Teleport vs Speed of Sound; Compare and Contrast
biostem replied to Scarlet Shocker's topic in General Discussion
For me it's about the tohit buff that combat teleport grants - leverage it! That being said, I rarely take speed of sound from experimentation because I'm not a big fan of the set overall, and I generally a travel power with more sustainable vertical movement... -
They seem pathologically afraid to give brutes more damage and to allow them to actually fill up their rage bar under normal combat conditions, and without requiring additional procs. Scrappers and Stalkers should be about burst damage and brutes about sustained damage, (even taking into account the relatively short duration of most battles)...

Clearly they each represent a finger of the city's hand, which activate and come together only when the "Five-finger Death-punch Signal" is projected onto the AP blimp...

I am going to make 2 suggestions: 1. Change the character's appearance enough so that they aren't an obvious copy of the characters from Demolition Man. 2. Post your request here as I think you'll get more traction that way. Cheers!

I've tried bio armor a few times, but it just hasn't "clicked" for me; Could you expand upon what you really like or find most effective about the set?

I'd probably say the only "essential" ones are the Panacea and maybe some LotG's. Besides that, it's more situational: Building defense? You'll want those 2 +3% global defense IOs. Need more end recovery? Miracle and Numina's are for you! I've come to very much like Gaussian's in my aim/build up powers, but it's lower down on my priority list, and if I want my character to be a bit sneakier, then one of the travel power stealth IOs, (which I usually stack with stealth itself)...

This thread reminds me of my favorite flaw & perk from GURPS: Weirdness magnet & weirdness censor, (I may have the names incorrect), but basically one caused strange things to happen around you, and the other caused you to not react negatively to those occurrences...

I'm certainly in favor of more MM primary choices, and bugs could work! IMHO, it's not about what powers a character has, but rather how they use them, (even including summoning demons)...

Corrs & Defenders can get a pet via the darkness set, so the precedent for them getting a pet already exists. They can also get an additional pet via the PPPs. This would be an alternate APP that solely focuses on that single pet. Also, MMs already get support secondaries and have some blasts, so by your logic, are MMs "mini-defenders"?
-
It's a single minion/ward/friend/partner, not 6+. We can already get pets from the PPPs, (albeit only temporarily), so it isn't entirely new, either.

People are not "averse to a set that doesn't rely on toggles" - they are averse to the lack of layered protection that most other sets provide, and with proper end management, who cares about toggles? They are just a method of having a power apply a continual effect without it being an auto power. It's not really that complicated; More forms of protection or more robust forms of a single method of mitigation, are superior to just healing...
-
It depends; A rad/rad sentinel could work if you want range and durability; Color the powers white to light grey or gold if you want a more "cosmic" appearance. If you want something that's more about manipulating fundamental forces, I'd go with a grav/time controller...

Respecs for Incarnate Abilities / Powers
biostem replied to Squid Vicious's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Are... are you arguing about wasting time, while discussing a 20+ year old video game on the internet? In the time you've spent arguing for this idea, here, you cold have run multiple Tinpex's and gotten the levels or component necessary for that incarnate ability you wanted to craft... -
Respecs for Incarnate Abilities / Powers
biostem replied to Squid Vicious's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Again we circle right back - you still have to level your character to get to those real juicy powers that come later on. Why can't I just get my T9 at level 1? Why can't I just instantly swap my primary and secondary at any time? It is a matter of learning the game's mechanics and systems, looking not just at what is available now, but what you'll have to work up to later, and planning your build accordingly. If all you want is instant gratification, this is not the game for you, but I can tell you this - if you do a little planning, bide your time, and use your in-game resources wisely, the resulting character will be so much more satisfying to play, because you put in "the work", which I should point out, is a lot less of a time commitment than it used to be on live. Further, you can always create a temporal warrior, (those instant PvP-only 50s), because I think they already have all incarnates unlocked, or just go over to the test server and insta-level a character to 50, if you want to test things before committing to your actual character... -

If you don't understand opportunity costs and delayed gratification, then I can see why this wouldn't make sense...
