On the to do list right now (notes sketched out) is an AE arc set in First Ward before the Hamidon attack. Yes, I'll have to use indoor maps, because even if we get First Ward maps in the AE they'll be ruins. Let's see how it goes.

I've been saying this for ages!

I main Gold side. Love the place. My main is a Gold who never left. And I know it's quiet over there. However, you simply cannot up the rewards without outlevelling the content almost immediately. Nova Praetoria to Imperial City to Neutropolis runs 1 to 20, and there's a fair chunk of content there. Yes it's available via ouro, but part of the draw (for this player at least) are the choices you make, and ouro loses a lot of that. Small teams can work there, our SG has them, the Hounds of Love SG run teams in Praet, but you can't just up rewards, merits whatever without bypassing the content. If I had a say (which I don't) I'd slide the levels in Praetoria Proper up to 25 at least and leave the content mostly as is, move First Ward to 25 to 35 and Night Ward 35 to 45. A pet peeve of mine is seeing a message from a newb asking how to get out of Praetoria. So far I have refrained from what I want to say, which is make a new character. If you're not liking the story then it's not for you. Find your sweet spot and have fun there. Hell, it might even be base building or Hellion punting. And I've hijacked this thread long enough.

I never did read any of those Pern books - I did work as a manager in a book store and ran the Fantasy & Sci Fi section though, so I've seen them at least - we have one type of lizard, and that's the only reptile that isn't imported as a pet or in a zoo/etc. And of course to mix it up it's a vivaparous lizard. Even so, it rains enough that I can imagine green fire lizards having difficulty getting started in the morning 🙂

I think we are actually agreeing on things....I think! Yes, you do all that, and build for all that but you're not advocating that that is somehow the default.

Well, you've answered your query I feel. Obviously it is my interpretation of what I read but I read quite a lot of the forum - not saying you don't but maybe we're not reading the same things - and that's what I see. Mind you, discussions as to builds and such will tend to aim for higher, so that makes sense, but then I see that then imported to posts where I for one don't see the relevance. Ah well.

Just as an aside, people like to think in binaries. I for one never play 4/8 because I don't build for it, it's simply not how I play. Now, I may be in a minority, but that does not mean that those who DO play and build for 4/8 are a majority. We are in a plurality of play styles here. With no disrespect to those who do, more power to you, I'm frankly fed up reading posts where 4/8 is somehow seen as the "base" or "normal" level for anything. It simply isn't. Mini rant over. Normal service can now be resumed.

Headcanon of a sort. The destruction of Galaxy City caused a warp/fracture in spacetime, whether due to the effects of the meteors combined with Shivan energy and mass superhuman power use, who knows? So a new hero/villain comes through the Galaxy City tutorial, fights alongside Sister Psyche and others, saves or kills Blue Spectrum and walks out the other side...to find that Sister Psyche is already dead and others, possibly some they met battling a giant Shivan, decided to kill Blue Spectrum rather than save him, or vice versa. Either way time is out of joint! And that poor Blue Spectrum guy is in an eternal loop of hell!

Yeah, but where are the ones that actually fix the City? Supers can't punch poverty. And when they're off fighting Doctor Vasectomy who puts out the fires apart from that one brave Fire Marshal?

I've had various notions on this, rethought things and come at it from different angles, but the one I'm currently favoring, and if the devs were to do a version of this I'd be well pleased, is that we HAVE moved on but it's not 2021. If they were to advance things just enough, 2 or 3 years, so that 2012 events are still relatively "fresh", perhaps a time fracture event continues to envelope the final stages of the Galaxy City evacuation or something, for instance. Setting it a few years forward but not to our now would allow the devs to plan out the net few years and effectively always be ahead of the game, so to speak.
