  1. Yeaj, where the hell is FEMA now that I think of it?
  2. Foldspace +Repulsion Field! What's not to love?
  3. I've had various notions on this, rethought things and come at it from different angles, but the one I'm currently favoring, and if the devs were to do a version of this I'd be well pleased, is that we HAVE moved on but it's not 2021. If they were to advance things just enough, 2 or 3 years, so that 2012 events are still relatively "fresh", perhaps a time fracture event continues to envelope the final stages of the Galaxy City evacuation or something, for instance. Setting it a few years forward but not to our now would allow the devs to plan out the net few years and effectively always be ahead of the game, so to speak.
  4. Fear me, Puny Immortal!
  5. BUMP! Well? Firestations? Maybe a funeral home? A crematorium? Because no one wants to go to Mot Cemetery!
  6. My head canon on CoX is informed by as much close reading of the game's narrative "now" while trying to allow for rough spots left over from unfinished/half assed retcons. These rough spots can be explained mostly, though, as I posted in another thread, some of it does need to be fixed - so if there's a Dev position of continuity editor going (and as an actual editor IRL I look for these things) I'm volunteering :). Couple that with the two novels and the run of comic books and you have the totality of what is. The novels and comics are not secondary, they are complementary. The Lore AMAs are a fascinating read - and I'd advise people to do so - but at the end of the day they're still only apocrypha and not canon. That statement may annoy some people but I stand by it. What you intended to do or meant to do or what was really going on, all these things are interesting but not concrete or carved in stone when the ones saying it are very definitely no longer the authorial voices of the narrative. With the best will in the world these are deleted scenes for a movie. The two novels IMO are absolutely canon, as per my statement above, with the reinforcement that neither of them contradicts anything in the game whatsoever. Easy to do when one is set in the early part of the 20th century and the other in 1986. The comics have their issues (no pun intended). The intro comic and the first run with War Witch, Apex and Horus are solid and work. After that it is a bit hit and miss. The introduction of Prometheus is awful. The matter of the BP and Lughebhu are not. the Praetorian 3 issue has literally been retconned out of existence by the arrival of Going Rogue, and even when it wasn't it didn't make any sense as to where it fit in. Read them, enjoy them, I'd treat them as Elseworlds. And the last few? They're fine.* *Note to self: Must go back and do a full read and sort out where stuff actually fits and where it should be thrown in a dumpster.
  7. Nope. The first half of that Nuclear option is very much head canon. Here's my head canon on that head canon, 🙂 The second half of that nuclear option seems eminently plausible.
  8. Ghostly War Witch is available only as a contact as far as I can see, and not as an ally/boss/whatever. So a ghostly version of her in that section + a live version! On that note I had to make a copy of Apex for an AE arc (doable but he really should be in there too). The third in the comic book team was Horus, but he was never in game and would need design work as he has unique costume pieces, not to mention he's a Peacebringer, so an adjunct to that is Kheldians are missing from the AE, along with their power sets. Yes, you can have individual forms but not like we play them. Statesman. Bear with me. THIS version and THIS version are not in the game yet appear to be images of game models.
  9. Told ya, I'm working on that! Sheesh.
  10. Right. I've finally finished my trilogy of Resistance AEs (levels 19-24), to pair with a similar set of Loyalist AEs. They are all designed to fit into the timeline, whether any of you agree or not is another thing entirely. As usual with my Lore referencing AEs I try to write them with this in mind: Could they be arcs that a player might have missed and then found in Ouro? Details in the signature. Enjoy.
  11. The third in a trilogy of pre War SFMA Praetorian AEs based around the Resistance. Praetoria's initial attack on Primal Earth has been repelled and the Resistance awaits the arrival of their new allies, but allies can appear from unexpected places. Belladonna Vetrano needs you to handle something vital. (Levels 20-24)
  12. I don't know about this TF not being canonical anymore. It's different enough that it could be earlier in Clamor's career as a villain. Yes, it WAS removed. That doesn't prove anything.
  13. Snag is you can only have one at a time! I had the tiny Mek Man and the MVAS, but one cancels the other.
  14. Did you buy a Vanity pet as well to up the numbers? My Robots MM has an MVAS that trails around after them, little jet boots and all!
  15. I'm thinking of doing an AE around this eventually. Who knows when.
  16. I sometimes imagine the internal workings of the CoT to be a lot more collegiate than we see, with demonstrations of new spells, summoning paths, whatever. Including the shared schadenfreude when the latest display leaves the would-be super mage a smoking pile of ash, and the watchers clean up and wander back to the cafeteria for wine and cheese. Barbed comments being flung back and forth on who didn't get an A+ grade in Thaumaturgy 4 centuries ago getting uppity now. Along with all the real world shenanigans obviously.
  17. So, hmmm. @cranebump, @Take One and @Ankylosaur for providing me with continued good AEs to play, @GraspingVileTerrorfor being great, just great to bounce ideas off, @EmmySkyfor just entertaining the bejeezus out of me 🙂 There's more, regular classy team mates, SG mates, I'll be here all night if I start listing more names.
  18. Well, it was me who brought up the gatekeeping comment, but I'll clarify that I mean it in a narrow sense. I posted a pic of an example from "A Hero's Epic" where I want three words removed to smooth out the timeline. Not undo it or write over it but smooth it out. Gaps are fine. Grounding things is fine. Preserving the intent of the lore is fine, and I mostly agree with it. Mostly. I've done a set of AE arcs that would probably fit right into some of the backstory of your guild, @TwoDee, Loyalist and Resistance, since they're designed to slip in between Neutropolis and taking the Rift missions/going to First Ward, rather than what your SG might think of as flights of fancy! My gatekeeping bugbears are simple. The game as it shut down in 2012 is not preserved in amber, it lives, and breathes and moves, and it's actually a good thing that it evolves or even corrects itself along the way.* *I have various suggestions elsewhere on the expanded uses of Paragon Dance Party/Studio 55/Rikti Monkey Fight Club, but one of the first reactions I received for an early suggestion on making PDP a viable space again - simply because (a) it's there and (b) in HC's current state recycling existing assets is I feel a good thing - was that it was shut down for a reason, ie the arrival of Pocket D, and should be left that way "because". Horse shit. It is THAT sort of gatekeeping that gets me exercised rather than any other. Similarly with the suggestion to remove three words from the Jenkins example, a response I got was, effectively, well it's supposed to be there. SMH.
  19. Flying V Industries was named after a famous racehorse of the 1930s and 40s, Flying V. Not of the caliber of War Admiral or Seabiscuit, nevertheless regionally famous.*
  20. If I had a penny for every time this happened, well my donations once a month to HC would be a LOT bigger.
  21. Now, I don't think he should permanently retire, but as you say reprioritize. Him being away for a bit, in character dealing with the fact that despite his oldest frenemy being dead (and AFAIK Libby's only remaining family), he STILL isn't the top of the food chain. So vanish for a bit, get his act together, then come roaring back as the threat he really is. Actually smart, actually a good leader. There were reasons troops followed him and Marcus Cole over the top of trenches in WW1, so let's get him filled out more. My suggestion involved Daos being effectively Prime Minister of the Etolies while the King is away, and if you thought Old Stefan was cold...well now. And while I was cheeky above, I'll mention in passing some of what is in my headcanon AE that would feed into that:
  22. Like many a thing, the impetus that made it great, those initial people and their goals/abilities/dedication - whatever anyone may think of them - that did not carry forward it seems.
  23. OOPS! Sorry! Can I interest you in some Praetorian AEs to soften the blow? LOL. Should have spoilered that.* Now, I COULD be wrong, you see what you think when you get to Vetrano. * Spoiler tag since added for those who come later to this.
  24. No, I get it, I just don't see how they could do it, that's all. I don't even know Edit: Spoiler tag added.
  25. Well, that's different!
