  1. Whatever I am building at the moment. Currently working on SR/Rad which may be my best character ever (although I think that with every build).

  3. Spot on. Due to the stranglehold animation time has on DPS the mechanical advantages pets have (animation independant DPS) it's basically impossible to replace pets with ST attacks for a overall DPS gain. It's why MMs and Crabs dominate pylon kill times. Pet fragility is rarely an issue since the only time you need this level of DPS is for AVs anyway and in these fights you should be tanking the hits anyway.
  4. That many attack powers costs way too many slots to make effective. In addition it is a significant loss of DPS because the Pets do damage in addition to your rotation which is capped by animation speed. A whole bunch of mid DPA attacks does not add up to good DPS because you can only use 1 attack at a time.
  5. Some things to keep in mind with the Core v Radial debate from my PoV: 1) Double hit always works. If your are at the damage cap (which is quite common in leagues, with a /Kin around or if you get a bunch of Red Inspiration drops) then Core Assault basically does nothing. 2) Getting constantly max stacks of Core is actually not very reliable in non AoE situations. A 65% chance to proc a buff that last 10 seconds where each stack's duration is counted individually (ie a proc does not refresh the duration of all the stacks) means most of the time you will be rolling around 3 stacks. Considering the most common use of Hybrid Assault is for burning down tough AVs where you are often in leagues/full teams these are actually significant issues.
  6. Resistance. If you have softcap defence why not get an extra layer and get resist too if you have slots? I love getting 'double values out of my slots. In this case I am gaining the def slotting befitting Arctic Fog and getting resists from the set bonus. I trying to avoid use 'mule' powers (powers only take for set bonuses and not used in play).
  7. But whenever you are beating on an AV in a group (the only situation where mass Interface stacking might be an issue) what else has an impact apart from -res and -max hp? Remember whatever other Interface debuff you are aiming also maxes out at 4 stacks. The only one I can think of is Paralytic for the -dam debuff.
  8. It's in the thread about people crying about Dark Miasma losing Defender values for the Heal and Tar Patch. They didn't confirm the details just that TW will receive adjustments in page 6.
  9. Don't get me started on DPS rotations. When I see some 5 power multi step monstrosity I just roll my eyes. Even my VEAT with a 3 power 1-2-3 rotation feels clunky at times. I have found using and ordering powers by priority tends to work much more effectively in play conditions. Basically just use your best powers first. As for MMs lately I have found their gameplay so awkward and finicky that the final output is often not work the effort. When I am sitting in Ouro and LFG starts a speed ITF, LGTF or Miss Liberty am I going to bring my MM? No. A Yin TF farm? No I don't get the key Upgrade Equipment power at 32. AE farm? Nope. As for Incarnate content Apex, Tin, TPN and Lamda are all a complete pain only BAF is MM friendly. So my Tankers and VEAT get a lot more play in general anyway.
  10. The auto containment for Controllers too (strongly helps Illusion) and the stationary nature benefits storm (Or any secondary with Rains). The 20% resist across the board resistance does not reflect typical enemy resistance distribution. No doubt the pylon has many flaws. If someone has a better target I am all ears.
  11. No its inflated because: 1) Enemy is stationary. It's easy for rains, patches and such to do their damage. 2) Damage is easily avoided/directed. So the flimsiness of pets isn't accounted for. 3) MMs have to have some trade off for having to do their DPS through 3rd party AI controlled methods. That upside is that MM pets allow MMs to 'break' the rule that only one power can be used at a time. Every other class focuses on DPA because animation time is critical when DPS can only come from 1 source. It's the same reason why Crabberminds are also so good v Pylons. The best way to get the highest DPS is to break the stronghold animation time has on DPS.

  13. As for repeatable pylon killers that won't get nerfed and that are not heavily pet based Controllers could be a contender. Storm is an obvious secondary. As long as you had a spammable Immo it would be repeatable. Ill/Storm once the utility belt power pool comes out. Even have a build ready and waiting. Wind Control/Storm is another I think will be very good and thematic to boot. Then again Wind Control looks incredible in general. -hit, -def, -dam, -recharge, aoe confuse, aoe stun, super tanky pet plus the regular Troller holds and Immo (ST and aoe) with KD and KU in most attacks (for proc abuse).
  14. TW is also going to be nerfed so I wouldn't be relying on it long term.
  15. Top 10 is all /Storm or /Cold MMs using Burn out. 30-40 seconds is doable. There is a video of a Demon/Cold speedrunner going all out (Insp and full temps) and doing it in 9 seconds. It's not even close. My Crab can do sub 1 min. After that TW/Bio Scrappers.
  16. Something I have noticed with MU Mastery on my VEAT is that the Striker Pet seems to have serious end issues. While it lasts 4 minutes if it is chain casting it almost out of end by the 2 min mark. It might be because it seems to have an extra power over the Ararchnos enemy group version (Ball Lightning) so its end drains much faster.
  17. Grav or Earth + Storm are decent AV Killers as well. Singularity/Stoney with Pet IOs can get super tanky (Sing100% res v everything immune to Psy/Toxic). Grav/Earth also bring an Immo so AVs don't run. Earth has better CC, Grave better ST damage. I have never liked how 1 dimensional Ill/ is. It relies so much on PA.
  18. Traps was never given to Controllers on Live specifically because they didn't want it combined with Illusion. Illusion was balanced around not being able to setup containment damage and having poor controls. Traps fixes all that.
  19. I know its slightly unusual slotting but you really do notice the extra tankiness. The more resist you have the more powerful it is. If I could I would max it at 85% its that good. I still might if I could find a way. At this point I can stand in the middle of +4 Cims with negative -20 def and still be fine whereas +4 Nictus with Energy/Neg Energy attacks I have to take out the def debuffers or its dangerous for me since I only have 56% E/NE resist. Also I just tested in game all the Pet Auras have a 40' range. The descriptions are wrong.
  20. The 5 slot bonus for Call to Arms is 3.75% S/L resist. The idea being most of the time my pets are not out so at least I am getting 6.25% recharge and 3.75% S/L resist out of them. Same with the 5x lotg in TT: Man. Thats over 11% S/L resist from those 3 set bonuses. The Accuracy bonus is also useful at +4 as well. 5 x Lotg actually has a higher def bonus then 6x Reactive Defense because it has more +def bonus IOs and the one I dropped from lotg was the End/Rec. Since I don't have the pets out as much I want to persoanlly be as tanky as reasonably possible. As for Global recharge I have already given up the 10% from 5 slot Heca in Bayonet because I simply don't need it. My ST target rotation gains nothing from more recharge, neither do the pets. The AoE does not mind it but its not critical.
  21. Updated a bunch since then. Basically I noticed that I didn't need my pets all the time only for specific situations (AVs and such) so why am I running Support? It's not going to keep them alive in day to day play and against AVs I am tanking while the pets stand back shooting. Add to that the actual impact of Hybrid support outside of +def is very low. +8% hit and damage is barely noticable. So why not get a Hybrid that has a big impact especially when fight AVs (which is when I used the pets mostly)? Assault Hybrid has a bigger impact (+10% damage) passively then Support does when it's active. ST rotation is Burst-Bayonet-Arm Lash which is 219 base DPS in 4.884 seconds plus 2 chances to proc Ach Heel and Glad Fury every 10 seconds (gives good debuff uptime). 90% chance to proc Assault radial on Burst and Bayonet, 65% chance on Arm Lash. 4 AoEs with Ball Lightning being a -res Proc. Basically I play like a Huntsman mostly blowing AoEing and killing regular mobs easily. When a hard target comes up, I pop Hybrid then pets and go to town. Perma Pets are just for stuff like BAF, etc so I can just relax during the prisoner phase while my pets do all the work. In many ways this is not really just a Crab anymore but a true hybrid.

  23. Fund new AT ideas and projects. Sitting in your email does nothing. It's not like it gains interest. Easy enough to get more.
  24. Remember Anihilator and Ach Heel procs can only appear once on a target. Add to that Anihilation proc is pretty weak. PPM 3 and -12.5 res in AoE powers has a very low chance to fire. And by low I am talking like 9.5% (the minimum proc chance for a 3 PPM IO) proc chance for Anihilation -res in Venom nade with high slotted recharge. Around 200 base DPS in the ST target rotation. Throw in ATO proc and -60% (-80% toxic) resist and you should be pushing close to 300 DPS ST. THEN you add pet DPS on top of that. Don't fall into the trap of being an imitation MM. VEATS have good attacks, use them.
  25. So the respec window completely does away with what levels slots are now just limits them by total number? That is extremely interesting.
