  1. The Reverse is of course true- If you asked which Secondaries are Better for Brutes than Scrappers the answer would be all of them Hard to beat that 90% resist cap, better leveling progression for things like SR, and taunt auras added to brute versions.

  4. You can definitely build a Stalker to take Alpha strikes from +4/x8, but no you wont be able to hold aggro. Street Justice has some AOE, but not a lot - there are likely better options. Staff possibly.

  6. I wouldn't describe it as breaking the game or not. I think the way I'd put it is ... The game matured with hasten and then set bonuses. These are the mechanics we have. Hasten has been like this forever, what is the sudden issue that has cropped up?
  7. Not sure. I definitely wouldn't do it it this current ruleset. So a lot of those considerations would have also changed. But if you are doing a whole different edition of rules, it doesn't make sense for Hasten to eclipse primary/ secondary powers. It doesn't make sense a SR tanker and /SR Scrapper get exactly the same recharge bonus out of quickness. You have a good point where hasten is less needed on ATs have more durabilty. Since a lot of profs depend on active controls/debuffs to survive, making Hasten part of their defenses.
  8. I disagree with the numbers presented, Hasten *IS* powerful. Quickness is like adding a DO to every power. Hasten is like adding 2 SOs to every power, That ignores ED. Perma Hasten is thus more Powerful than a T4 core Incarnate ability. Saying its not very powerful might be some confirmation bias.

I haven't addressed the alternatives for hasten, because I disagree with fixing it in the current game. ===== If you were completely to redo COH for a COH 2 or COH 2nd edition rules or whatever .. then yeah I'd say nerf it, past any change Steampunkette suggested. Realistically in that scenario Hasten doesn't fit as a pool, becuase it has no business being more powerful than Quickness and Lightning Reflexes. Probably something like lower the duration from 120 to 30 seconds. Or keep the duration the same but reduce the bonus to 35% Or make it a fairly high end toggle ====== But nah. Just leave it.

  12. Oh we are definitely clinging to it because its always been. Thats where the urgent comes in. If you were to redesign COH mechanics you definitely would have a much weaker hasten. But mechanical inertia in games is a real thing. And its not always bad.
  13. I approach these things from the following standpoints. Is problem the change is intended to address real, demonstrated, and urgent? Does the fix do more harm than good? Is there a simpler way to address the problem? Im still stuck on the first two. I'm always going to default towards not changing stuff.
  14. I don't think there are any epic/patrons that give positional defense though. Thats why I go Scorpion, since I can get good S/L/E defense. And Thunderstrikes add both Energy and Ranged defense in decent amounts.
  15. Since a lot of IO increase survivability im curious how this will affect something like FM.
  16. Ive found Ele to be underwhelming except for the Awesome Telenuke. On SOs how many nukes would you even get in 6 minutes? And would the spawns be big enough for it to really matter?
  17. Not on SOs for sure. Seems to barely be better than Claws. I expect its more bursty with more downtime.
  18. It takes about 1 night of power leveling to hit 50. It takes less than a week of PUGs Solo, at +0, x1 2-3 weeks. Any faster and they should just give you a level 50.
  19. Scrappers get no Taunt Aura in Regen or SR unlike the brute versions. I dont see one in Ninjitsu or Scrapper EA, either.
  20. It looks like Claws with its awesome base recharge and decent AOE (3 attacks) is really strong on SOs

  23. I have a vet level 15 stalker that has never died. A couple close calls in +4 missions and the Apex blue glowie stuff. But so far, so good. I don't think I'd delete though, that's pretty rough, lol
  24. Coh predated WOW by about 6 months. So I am not sure they followed WOW design principles per se. But both games followed similar principles from games of the time period. Although Im sure there was some interest in what WOW was doing in development, etc.
  25. Nice. I've always found spines teammates seem to do fairly well.
