    You don't really need to softcap WP to match SRs survivability. WP at 30ish def is pretty much equal to softcapped SR in my experience for most stuff.

    Katana is nice for end luckily. So SR and Kat work well in that sense. The only real problem with SR is its lousy power progression. AOE protection isnt really there until level 35. So exemplar down and anything below 30 will hurt. WP has a much more even climb. Good at all levels. SR is better for Alphas and you rarely get debuffed. WP never needs a self heal, though i never bother with those on SR anyway.

  5. Energy Aura has Mag 10 Repel Status protection. So resistance is a thing. No idea if it can be made to pull vs push though.
  6. Actually I have a related question on Hard Caps If I have capped resist at 90, but the actual number is 110, does that mean I have reserve for being Resist Debuffed. Or since its hard capped, that extra is completely wasted?
  7. Does Assault Rifle Sniper still get the synergy +dmg with Targeting drone? If so it should be much improved, since the To-Hit is a damage boost now also
  8. Wow that is kind of snippy. I've teamed with Sovera several times on Task Forces and it went fine.

  10. That kind of stings as far as the idea of multiple Tanks on the team. But if it doesn't stack, why is it limited to the Teir 1 power? Why not have all the Tanker's attack powers bruise? Perhaps gated by level. So a level 50 Tanker bruises with her Foot Stomp. But a level 38 Tanker's maybe doesn't. Maybe AOEs come last. Something to that effect. Maybe AOE Bruising is OP. IDK. Doesn't seem to be compared to a Sonic defender.
  11. The Cap is too low, especially with the low Scale. But maybe that applies to a lot of other ATs. I was more thinking about IOs. It takes a decent, but not really expensive, IO build for the Brute to actually be Tanker Enough Tough for 99% of all content. But you can't take the same level of investment and turn a Tanker to be near Brute damage for 99% of content. You can of course use a super expensive near perma hasten high damage build to match the typical less built Brute. As long as the cap isn't in the way yet.

  13. I was just being sarcastic =p, The thread only seems like its lasted 15 years. And I agree with you. There are ALWAYS crazy ideas for both pvp and pve in MMOs floated. PVP ones often include ideas to try and lure non-pvp players into pvp areas. So they can kill them. Its almost like they think we cant see the guy behind the curtain. Now I think some of the motivation there is probably not simply "Lets Gank the pvpnoobs!", instead its more like "Lets get them to try PVP and then some will like it and PVP will grow." But their attempts are often soured by the Gank the pvpnoobs crowd. This was one of the reasons I suggested a PVP server with open world PVP. That way on that server everyone there wants to participate.
  14. Okay sure. And its true that in a lot of teams/situations, especially once you get to high level, you don't need any Tanking, even for +4's. Of course there are also a lot of players who think they don't need any tanking, and end up smooshed and ruining the nice no defeat Task Force no-prize. As long as they bring their own wakies though, its NBD. I don't think it would hurt to improve the Tanker's aggro control some. But its true that its not really going to change much. I find it interesting though that since a Brute can eclipse the Tanker's role, that simply making it so a Tanker can eclipse the Brute's role is so unpopular.

  16. If in this context you are advocating that what a Stalker can do is Tanking .. then we are not talking about Tanking. Scrappers can have *some* aggro-gain tools, so "Scrapper/Stalker" isn't actually a true category exactly.
  17. I find it interesting that in many MMOs PVP'rs tend to get more concessions from the design teams than other subsets of players, I wonder why this is. Are PVP advocates more confrontational? I don't know. Sometimes anecdotally it seems they are. Are a lot of Devs PVPrs at heart? Definitely they are in a lot of games. Is it that PVP is competitive and thus leads to this sort of lobbying?

  20. how is it weaker than Build-up? Its more like "All the time Build-up"
  21. They already have this on test. Seems odd if they have no plans to implement it. The main objection seems to boil down to - *Some small set of people prefer knockback to Knockdown. *They don't want to be ostricised /cajoled / etc to use KD instead.
  22. The entire concept of Tanking is apparently unrelated.
