  1. Yep pretty much. My concern is that there is a tier of great pylon times that are attainable by literally having a bad build. And this puts a giant question mark on this test for me. If I wanted to make a great Earth Control build vs max out my pylon time as Earth Control.... those could be two very different builds and I’m concerned that no one is talking about this caveat. What you have done, Myshkin, is probably create a great Earth Control build. But considering Greycat didn’t actually ask for the build to be *good*, I felt the need to bring up the problem I see with just asking for a pylon time. My concern was simply that, if it were me, and I *really* had some urge to brag about a pylon time here, I could make all sorts of bad decisions to increase my build’s focus on single target DPS. Earthquake? Stalagmites? Who needs em?
  2. I’m not talking about your build or your video. I’m only talking about what your rules technically allow. I have seen at least one example on these forums of a player repping a strong pylon time but clearly having no AoE’s in their build. What this means is that, at a certain point, a strong pylon time starts to literally mean your build is *worse*, and what I am asking you is why none of the “standard rules” try to address this. Because as long as they don’t, that’s a pretty big asterisk next to any amazing pylon time.
  3. Well you’ve assumed running, jumping, and flying are somehow supposed to be “equivalent” for one thing. I guess vertical travel means absolutely zero to you? There’s so much more to these powers than time from mission to mission. How has your analysis accounted for a flyer’s ability to be essentially immune to melee damage without moving? And, with a couple range bonuses, essentially immune to ranged damage as well on an outdoor map? How has your analysis accounted for Super Speed’s stealth? Super Speed’s inability to reach some ledges at all? Did you think of any of this? Or is a one variable analysis really how you think this works?
  4. Lol my thoughts exactly. Just stretching for powers 6 and 7 puts me out.
  5. That’s what I read too. It was based on his own arbitrarily defined concepts of balance and equity and nothing more.
  6. Will these likes come with dislikes
  7. I provided nothing but hard facts in my first reply to this thread. “This change sucks” on the other hand, is a tad bit less supported.
  8. I see an awful lot of nonsensical opinions, and, in the middle of all of that, the only genuine problem I’m able to detect in any of this is that some people are extremely upset about Afterburner losing toggle status. Everything else seems completely unsupported. Oh and yes to a better Group Fly / Team Teleport fix if that wasn’t obvious. I don’t know who in their right mind would go near those two powers.
  9. If you want an all-encompassing “rule”, that’d be the wiki link above. If you’re not a loser mac user like me though, you don’t have to use formulas; it’s just built into your shiny mids. Note that a fraction of your Alpha incarnate is applied before ED formulas, and a fraction is applied after.
  10. Probably also sold them some of that volcano insurance
  11. Do you really need solar panels when some of your citizens can produce electricity or atomic energy with their hands?
  12. Fond memories of making the leaderboards running Dreck maps during summer break, alongside all the Fire tankers, with my Spines/Dark scrapper 🙂
  13. Umm, Hover has defense and flight control and Fly has flight speed. How is this NOT an improvement?
  14. But some people want both toggles on at once so maybe just turn a toggle off manually?
  15. This has it’s pros and cons, but I just take Ageless Core without hesitation if I have to. This leaves me with small issues, like how my Shield/EM’s health bar moves a little more than yours, but it’s just a lot easier than worrying about endurance. Either that, or a lot of my proc monsters take Vigor Core. I’m just an aggressive/reckless player and only have Barrier/Rebirth/Clarion after end is clearly established as a non-issue. Oh, and if I don’t have Ageless Core, I slot recovery powers more than most people because I can’t stand endurance problems. 2 Performance Shifter / 2 Power Transfer (+95.9% plus two procs) is normal for me for Stamina, Quick Recovery, Blaster sustains. Though a large chunk of fliers would be Blasters who can handle their end just fine.
  16. I thought we were talking about Hover sorry. This change made Fly more than an LotG mule pool to me. If I pick the pool now, it’s all three toggles on all the time. Nice to have Hover’s defense feel usable (I don’t slow myself down for nobody).
  17. I didn’t cave on account 2 until after 30-something 50’s. There’s still time 😉
  18. Kindly go to hell, love ❤️
  19. Man, I used to regard PvP IO’s and sometimes Purples as plain and simple out of reach stuff for the Bill Gateses and Jeff Bezoses of Paragon City. LotG’s were as expensive as I would even bother with. Now I have at least ~70+ of my level 50’s all purpled to the teeth. Yep, *nothing* is expensive in HC, put in relative terms.
  20. Aid Self now gives you endurance if you have Field Medic.
  21. Good thing the defense is usable in combat so this sniper red herring is irrelevant.
  22. So still within the rules: a build with no AoE’s and bad mitigation. There would be a point at which, the better the pylon time, the worse the build is at the rest of the game. Some test I guess.
  23. Just asking because I could totally see someone setting up something impressive proc bombing Fossilize, Infrigidate, Seismic Smash, etc... but it’d be nice to know people are answering the request in good faith and actually making playable builds that don’t skimp on mitigation, AoE power, etc.
  24. Don’t you pylon guys feel the need for an additional guideline like “Must be build for general gameplay as opposed to being built exclusively for a pylon test”? Or is that assumed across the board already? Because obviously anyone can load up a few S/T attacks with procs, but I imagine the point is to achieve something good within a generally usable build.
  25. I think permanent pets being designated as a special treat for controllers and dominators and masterminds is just fine tbh
