  1. Just the DPS vs regen situation. Between Phantom Army taunting, Twilight Grasp spam heals, and all the debuffs, everything else was great. Whittling down that HP bar for so long was just a slog. I’m not typically an AV soloist though so I don’t know what’s typical for fight durations and difficulties. But I imagine a secondary with more -regen or -res would be ideal. Traps, Cold, Rad, Poison, the usual. Either that or at least some more proccy attacks (Seismic Smash?). I think I was just running proccy Blind + Arcane Bolt + Pets.
  2. I’m not crazy about my Ill/Dark/Primal as far as AV soloing goes. Level 54 Infernal literally took me half an hour. I’m assuming this is because Twilight Grasp’s -regen is too small and Howling Twilight is maybe not perma. If an AV is going to take that long, I’m really not interested. Sure you could do better with P2W, but I would no longer consider it an AV soloist if it needs temp powers.

Sorry shenanigans, I believe your binds make your life easier, but if they (1) require something “under the hood” that cannot be visibly identified in keymapping options or in my tray, (2) require any kind of setup at all, and (3) require revision of over a decade of muscle memory, that alone is enough for me to declare myself uninterested. I am happy with the interface as is, and would have to identify some genuine problem or challenge to motivate myself to bother with all that junk you rant about. Fortunately, the game is so easy as is that it’s even readily playable on hallucinogens.

  7. This means you think it should be a phase power, in case you didn’t know what that meant.

Are you ok with: (1) the increase in recharge and (2) the nophase timer and (3) the being unable to be affected by ally heals/buffs and (4) the loss of ability to slot defense sets, including LotG, that would all logically have to come with this being a phase power like you’re suggesting? I’m not, personally.

My Poison/Dark’s newest PvE build has 4 primary powers and 4 secondary powers and would like a word with this post 😉 And then there’s Blaster secondaries that only have 3 mandatory powers generally speaking, etc. Also, the OP literally mentioned petless masterminds as part of his motivation so not much conflation is going on, no.

  13. Fault or Stalagmites adjusted for Blaster AoE mez mags/durations, yeah. Earthquake would be too much unless it was a reduced radius version. RE: mud pots, damage auras already do fill this role. See Dynamo and Cauterizing Aura.
  14. Lol, I missed the original statement that he plays petless masterminds. Yeah, you don’t ask for buffs specifically to ungimp your own selfgimp. It doesn’t work like that. If your interest is in the capabilities of a petless MM, you’ve already stepped outside the balance conversation.
  15. This is not a commentary on the endurance question specifically, but it’s a mistake to frame the pets as only a burden and not a massive asset. You can’t get an accurate look at MM balance without considering the incredible things MM’s get. Such as having effectively more HP than tankers or having insane AV killing single target damage potential.
  16. Literally anything with Power Boosted Farsight is an easy mode tier toon. Whoever told you otherwise is just wrong.
  17. What’s there to remember without binds? W-A-S-D movement, Q-E to turn, R to auto-run, Tab to target, first few number keys for basic attacks, the rest with a mouse. Nothing to “remember” here because those basics have been coded into my muscle memory over half of my life ago. Nothing in the game beyond the above is necessary to do with anything but a mouse. Game is not challenging enough to justify changing years of muscle memory for anything else. Frankly with the way the game’s difficulty is trending, I feel closer to my cat being able to solo the game than I am to needing to spend 5 minutes implementing some keybind. I see custom keybinds much like I see emailing myself inspirations. Cheesy tricks I don’t want or need.
  18. Yes, this, though I recall in the last thread on this topic, “not simultaneously” was not acceptable to the OP. I don’t want to have to learn and keep track of binds so it’s not an issue to me regardless 🙂
  19. I’m going to try to proc bomb the T5 and maybe T3 next time I revisit a Mastermind build. See if I can’t get the attacks to feel desirable.
  20. I made something like this because of your post. Elec/Dark, has at least both heal procs in Zapping Bolt and Tesla Cage. I think maybe Power Transfer in Ball Lightning or something too. Not a huge difference but its fun to see a constant stream of little green numbers.

  22. Right, and if you actually had to resummon pets so often that normal attacks would be more endurance-efficient, your MM would be a total trainwreck. I don’t see what’s unreasonable about suggesting that maybe this endurance penalty exists because your 6 non-attack primary powers are as endurance-efficient as it gets. I do wish they didn’t suck on the damage front but oh well. I don’t normally take them, though my Necro/Storm did snag Life Drain. My Bots/Cold prefers procced Infrigidate and Shark Jaws for attacks though.

  24. I said they do huge DAMAGE PER ENDURANCE. Which is factually true. I said nothing about raw damage at all.
