  1. So why not advocate for the speed boost to be removed from the power instead of the Null proposal? I don’t think you are comprehending the fact that you have an ability to turn off a toggle whereas you do not have an ability to control others’ speed boosts, group fly, or team teleport. You seem to define “choice” as synonymous with “choice I like”. That’s not what “choice” means.
  2. Sounds ok to me Sue. I didn’t read your whole post but I would be down to catalyze/boost things in my tray.
  3. Ok well @Snarky lemme correct the record and state that Electric Blaster damage only does more damage than an Electric Sentinel if both are reasonably built for damage, and your specific build was not vetted for where it falls on the spectrum of survivability vs damage. Good now? EDIT 1: I see what you mean Nemu. An awful lot of defensive sets of 6. Not many procs. I wouldn’t build it that way. But then, if Snarky would, who’s to say he’d build a Sentinel as offensively as we would. Shrug. EDIT 2: I think I only saw one tiny damage proc. Snarky, are things ok at home buddy?
  4. We’ve been over and over this on this forum: (1) Can a sentinel do more damage than a blaster if the blaster is not optimally built for damage? Maybe? If both are well built for damage? Hell no. (2) So then we return to the real reason to play a sentinel: mitigation. Problem is, most experienced players are already able to survive as blasters. So once again we come full circle to sentinels being played for one of two reasons: fun/concept... or blaster training wheels. Snarky is doing some kind of playing down the middle here. I haven’t analyzed his build, but it’s clear he’s hoping to find a sweet spot a little closer to sentinel mitigation while retaining a little blaster damage advantage. Again, not commenting on his build specifically. Just came here to counter a misconception about S/T damage someone gave him. Anyway, I can also say all of my Sentinels are all out proc monsters because that’s the only way I’ve found to make them playable. I wouldn’t dare say any of them can match a Blaster on damage.
  5. There is one reason to play electric blast you’ve left on the table: fun/concept/RP etc. And this is the real reason to play electric blast IMO. Sapping is kind of fun, but extremely questionable as far as effectiveness in battle goes. But yeah, if you completely ignore the desire of players to have fun, varied characters, etc, you’re left with only two options: sap or pick another set. Luckily for me I’m here for the fun 🙂
  6. Verified in COD: T1 and T2 are a smidge higher on Blaster as expected. Zapp is a lot higher than Zapping Bolt as expected. Tesla Cage on Sentinel is much higher as expected, BUT you’re better off not comparing apples to apples here. Electric Blaster should either run 3 S/T attacks or work in something else (Char, a hold from secondary, maybe even Arcane Bolt). And then ofc that’s all just the base damage, and Blasters will benefit more from enhancements. EDIT: oh yeah then there’s build up. And defiance. I haven’t had an Elec/ blaster since live but you implying my Elec/ sentinel was doing blaster s/t damage wasn’t passing the smell test 🙂
  7. Ok so you mean like relative to their damage modifiers or something? Because the Blaster will win in a flat comparison every time unless you’re doing something silly.
  8. Well, nobody but the obvious exception of the very visible elite group of players obsessed with pylons and AV’s. And PvP’ers. I’ve been playing around with making my S/T chains better lately, but I simply don’t do enough TF solo’ing / etc to tell if it’s worth it.
  9. Well Snarky has this tick about being all ranged that he mentions a few times a day, so it’s out of scope regardless.
  10. Short Circuit’s activation is so bad that I wouldn’t take it unless maybe paired with another sapping set. Elec/Elec defender maybe, etc.
  11. This makes zero sense to me. Tesla Cage cannot make THAT much of a difference. Take Char on the Blaster if you’re short a single target attack. Will have to check later if it’s even mathematically possible for you to be correct.
  12. Yeah PvP was great here until i13 slaughtered it. It would still be bearable gameplay wise but so many were alienated that the community is too small to function.
  13. Sorry but there is no evidence that anyone wants to ruin fun. There’s evidence that people want to pursue reasonable nerfs to arrive at balance, but obviously no honest person would conflate the two.
  14. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt and assuming his computer is a literal potato that leaves him with horrid frame rates and so on. Because if it’s not, there’s no other way to explain the problem minus... posts like this.
  15. Depends on exactly when. For instance the aforementioned Fire/Rad controller certainly wasn’t suffering when it could have 9+ imps out.
  16. +1 to Liquefy kind of sucks. But to the extent it doesn’t, can we at least make it so its effects’ colors will properly change like the rest of the set? It’s only ever orange on my Grav/Sonic.
  17. If you have a 47% proc rate, each proc will do 71.75x0.47=33.72 damage on average is all you need to know basically.
  18. If *this* inconvenience meets the Null threshold, thousands of others do too. Sounds downright awful. And way to make it blatantly obvious you didn’t read or comprehend a single one of the responses. Being speed boosted by someone else without your own consent is a choice to the same extent turning a toggle on/off is a choice? Maybe if you’re one of those 2+2=5 types.
  19. Are you doing ok man
  20. Power creep is literally the consequence of trying to balance but not allowing nerfs to be a part of the balancing effort. Your post can be summarized as “we should create more power creep in order to eventually address power creep”.
  21. Debuff resistant or not, armor sets do not need to be any stronger at this time.
  22. It’s pretty hard to argue that any melee classes need a buff though.
  23. Attack recharge times only matter until you’ve achieved a continuous attack chain, so that’s a non-issue at a point. Defense set bonuses only matter to an extent if you are using good tactics and inspirations, so that’s also a non-issue at a point. Characters can survive at +4x8 on 45% defense or on 15% defense, the latter is just a hair trickier. These caveats are real but a bit misleading. (and I’m sure you know this and I need to stop replying to things without reading the whole thread...)
  24. You can try but altoholicism ought to have you jonesing within 7 days tops 🙂
  25. Basically procs do the same damage across all AT’s, so they will get more beneficial relative to damage enhancement on lower damage AT’s. You can still have Blasters with a lot of procs - I certainly do - it just isn’t as extraordinary compared to damage enhancement as it is on a Tanker, Defender, Controller, Sentinel, etc. Vigor Alpha is something I strongly recommend if looking into this because it covers both accuracy and endurance. If you can get to a 95% hit chance without actually using accuracy enhancements, that’s when you can really go all in and start putting 6 procs in some powers. Also note -res procs are important to not overlook. They don’t give you a shiny extra orange number but they are quite efficient at making all the other numbers bigger. My most proc-heavy builds typically wind up with ~25 damage procs and 2-4 -res procs, to say nothing of other procs like LotG, Panacea, Shield Wall, etc (ofc I get all those too!). It doesn’t leave you with much room for set bonuses so you then want to prioritize getting to 95% hit rate and some recharge bonuses (won’t be able to get as many as other builds but at least shoot for +50%). Anyway Mids is probably your friend but I don’t have Mids because Mac, so I calculate everything manually referencing PPM formulas, ED formulas etc on hcwiki and raw data on uberguy’s update of city of data.
