Oh yeah, my Invuln definitely spends more slots filling the psi hole than I ever need to fill the KB hole. And, at least before the last round of buffs, LR wrecked my Graniteless Stone Tank too just because of low energy resistance. Using that fight as a standard to balance around is a bit ridiculous. -

I don’t think every melee set needs to be capable of easily ignoring Lord Recluse’s shenanigans. He’s easily one of the hardest baddies in the game. How is this a problem. As for the entire rest of the game besides one baddie? 12 pts seems to cover basically everything. That’s three slots. You’re fine. -
Sure. Just saying I don’t think it’s very useful to imply Masterminds are great farmers if the caveat is multi-boxing. There is nothing great about 4 minute meteor runs if multi-boxing. That’s a great solo time, and an average to mediocre duo time. Everyone is impressed by farm speeds when multiple farmers are running; that’s nothing new. I have at least 9 characters set up for farming with 45% fire defense. The brutes are only the best due to afk-ability. If actively farming, fire blaster and plant dom are just as good, and fire/kin controller lags behind them all a bit. You can say you doubt it but that’s kinda... not very useful either considering it’s just facts.

One plant dom can clear the meteor in 4-5 minutes solo just fine. It’s definitely as fast as a /fire brute. Creepers aggro things and they greatly outnumber MM pets. As for doing a run with *2* characters in 4 minutes? I can’t count the number of pairings that should be easily achieving that. It’s a lot.

Yeah in most cases that’s what I do too. But I had a couple pylon runs where my time suffered due to running out of gas after a couple minutes (guess you’re supposed to just equip Ageless for those most of the time), so I wanted AM at ED cap. And I pretty much made this newest build specifically to explore the applications of new D-Sync combos so I just had to. I’ve also got some of the Heal/Recharge ones in there and Lingering Radiation is slotted one Acc/Range and one End/Recharge/Slow. It was so expensive 😞 (To say nothing of all its 53 Micros and Cytos) -

Considering that character has 23 level 53 HO’s/D-Syncs and it’s all very shiny to look at AND I’m done spending billions on it now... well yeah sure it’s worth it. The effect is surely negligible but... I’m running a proctastic build with Clarion instead of Ageless so I can still feel the heat on endurance against a pylon or AV. Wanted to do as much as I could. Maxed out is maxed out though, and I’m confident there’s nothing left to do on that toon 🙂 -

Every set is carefully balanced. Of course they get trade-offs. You can’t even simplify it to “they trade off for offense” like Ston implies above. Real balance considers every last drop of data, right down to damage, debuff resistance, fear protection, you name it. If the devs think Dark, Fire, and Electric are being shorted on the balance equation, I’m sure they will consider this thread. I know they’ve already stated that Fiery Aura will be up for rebalancing eventually since they are going to have to throw it a couple bones the day they finally follow through and fix the broken Burn bug. So maybe this is in the cards. -
Well, not quite true but close. Plant Control can aggro more than Masterminds. Also, can you comment on how the pets fare in the meteor map with just one MM? I don’t consider it super efficient if you’re talking about the guys loading up 2-3 MM’s. Tons of combos should wipe a meteor in no time, if it’s not solo it’s not particularly special imho.

You forgot procs! Powers don’t need a damage component to do damage, what a silly notion 🙂 I’m curious what exact combos Mind Control detractors are using. Perhaps they just need pointers.

Yeah the set would definitely make more sense if the PBAoE animation involved setting a boombox on the ground first.

Scrapper is still ok because the snipes help with bosses too. But Stalker is definitely best. I missed the boat on it. Have an Elec/Shield Scrapper and now an Elec/Ice Stalker. -
You voiced a completely imaginary reason that doesn’t even exist outside of your self-defeating perceptions. Not very useful. You have absolute freedom to ignore combo mechanics, no ifs ands or buts.
