  1. Does it have to be slotted, or can you do it in your tray?
  2. Yeah.. what sticks in my head from all those years ago is reading the patch notes and thinking ... "Man.... I've made the perfect toon for making things flee."
  3. Maybe I'm missing something... But what's the problem here? Just go buy what you need in the store? My last toon, as an experiment, I literally sold every drop I got on the AH and bought only crafted/attuned IO from the AH as I went. I only used inf that I gained myself, and I didn't play any market games (buying to resell for profit). Guess what? I never ran out of inf. Furthermore, the moment I hit 50 I slotted all my purples and upgraded my AO sets because I had pre-bought the requirements with all the inf I had. Oh wait... I see the problem. You're not getting Reward Merits cause you're farming AE. Yeah... you're probably broke when you hit 50. Ironic isn't it?
  4. This seems like a good time to point out that since we're all able to have multiple of the same incarnate slot, it's a great idea to have at least tier 1 of the team teleport power.
  5. Highlander: There should have been only one.
  6. If it works like trials where you just form a league and start it when ready, I see no problem. Current trials are pretty easy to join/initiate.... easier than getting in a MSR or Hami IMHO.
  7. Does anyone remember, or have access to the logic that determines when a mob flees (instead of standing and fighting)? I vaguely remember there being a change to the logic that got detailed out to us in one of the patch notes. I find chasing runners annoying and it happens constantly when I am solo, so I am seeking deeper knowledge on this mechanic.
  8. I completely agree with the OP's opinion.... Except I disagree with the part where he decides that he should go back to AE. You see, what I do instead is this. I don't go to AE farms... ever. I pretend that place doesn't exist. I try not to sick up at seeing it. And I love this friggin game.
  9. I like this idea... I may start doing this myself.
  10. When I talk/talked to people about this game, I often describe on how I would spend more time in a given day playing "outside" the game then I spent logged in. I meant this is a good thing. I love how you can actually improve the power of your toon by studying, planning, and applying rigorous spreadsheets and formulas. It's one of the great things about this game. But I also understand that not everyone enjoys that.
  11. If you team regularly on level 50 content, it makes sense for everyone to have at least tier 1 of this power. Possibly go up to tier 3 for the level shift.
  12. For some people, tweaking a build to maximum potential *IS* the game. For others, it is costumes or role play. Some hunt badges and others lead trials and raids. It's ok to play the way you want. Just don't be jealous if you're not able to do things that you're friends can do. But it sounds like you're happy, so all is well.
  13. IMHO, S/L is not enough if you want to be tanky on a traditionally squishy AT. There's still a lot of enemies who will give you trouble. However, S/L + Ranged Def is very solid and leaves very few gaps in your defenses... especially if you are a ranged fighter and you either fly or move around to avoid melee.
  14. GM's have higher "effective" HP, and thus higher "effective" regen rates. It takes MUCH more DPS to overcome a GM's natural regen rate then it does to overcome an AV's regen rate. (Note, I say "effective" because lower level GMs may actually have have lower hp then a high level AV, but your damage is scaled down to match their level). Also, generally GMs have more AoE attacks but that's just an observation, not a rule. That's off the top of my head, but I'm sure other people have more details.
  15. Fine point. The little I played over there on live, I can honestly say I don't know if I was a good guy or a bad guy.
  16. Have you tried farming in DA to take advantage of those +level bonuses? You don't get custom enemies, but unloading your AoEs into a 4x8 spawn of 54s when you're an effective level 53 feels like cheating.
  17. (On Excelsior) I see a lot of LFG messages for teams starting about level 20 (usually Talos radio teams). I think most people do DFB to level 17ish... Positron and DIB to 20 (or just limp by solo).. then start teaming when they get to Talos.
  18. I'm pretty sure there's no actual cause for concern about lawyers and such given that there's no money exchanging hands. Even copyright lawyers need a monetary incentive to show up. So, in my opinion, if you want to do this, do it. Similarly, If the Homecoming Devs decide to say no... then that's their prerogative. But, since you asked the question about our opinions (or that's what I think you're looking for) ...personally, I wouldn't do it. It might be a fun tribute as a costume contest theme. But to actually play the game, I prefer to play, and play alongside, original player creations.
  19. I think the OP is asking about Set IOs. The answer is not really one or the other as they both have advantages and disadvantages... BUT if you buy an attuned enhancement, it has the best of both worlds. My latest toon I followed this strategy and it worked surprisingly well: Every merit I got, I turned into a +1 booster salvage and sold it in the AH. Every recipe I got I sold on the AH. (even if it was something I wanted) Every salvage I got I sold on the AH. Every DO and SO I got, I sold to stores. (Basically, I turned everything into influence). Then, I used the influence to buy crafted IOs from the AH. For sets I only bought Attuned IOs. And those sets were all sets I was planning to use in my final build. Everything else I filled in with normal IOs. For normal IOs, I just bought the highest I could use at the time (at least level 25). When I got to 50 I picked up and slotted a few purple sets and catalyzed my AT sets to the superior versions. Then I started using boosters on my IOs and purples. Following this strategy, I never found myself short on inf to buy what I wanted. I generally run mission arcs and TFs so I'm getting steady merits while leveling up. Selling Boosters and lucky drops are the main source of inf. If you only run radio teams and AE teams you won't get merits so this process may not work as well for you, but I was pleased to see how well it did work. It will be my strategy from now on with any future creations. edited: One last note... When I say I sold something at the AH... I almost always list everything for 334 inf so nearly everything sells instantly (common salvage sometimes takes a few mins). I could get better pricing by playing the patient game and listing higher, but frankly, I just didn't need to. I had enough inf coming in as it was so I tried to make my AH stops as quick and painless as possible.
  20. wait.. .what! ...I must go home and try this immediately.
  21. Also, hover/flight gives a huge reduction in incoming damage by staying out of melee range. Most mob groups are very limited in ranged attacks. This can be a big benefit when soloing. There are temp powers for flight as well. Or you can do the "blaster dance" ...attack-attack-retreat.... attack-attack-retreat... (repeat)
  22. Wait... what is this combine enhancements mojo you speak of?
  23. Playing on Excelsior. Been back about 1 month. Frankly, I'm shocked at how easily I can get a team to do almost anything I want. Frankly, I don't remember Live being this easy to gather TF groups and Radio teams. So, if the population is down, it's not hurting anything yet. And, I agree with the comment above about disliking the Holloween event.
  24. Also, I'm now trying to figure out how to get a Portal Jacket for all my toons. Do they come in red?
