  1. My main is an Invuln/Energy Tanker. After the EM and travel power changes happened I was able to add Build Up and Combat Jumping into the build. So the character is both very tough (thanks to special and set IOs) and high damage (thanks to the ET fix and being able to use Build Up). I've also heard very good things about Energy/Shield Scrappers and Shield/Energy Tankers. With the right build and IOs a Scrapper can be almost Tanker tough And, especially when paired with the damage buff from Shield, EM is a monster. A single-target monster, but a monster nonetheless. A lot of very effective builds have been posted in their respective AT subforums. I recommend taking a look at them, especially if you have Mids.
  2. I agree. And it's a good thing when people make posts like this for the devs to see. So thank you for that. What? Get off my lawn!
  3. Everyone has a chance to get the badge. I do not see an issue with this. Not in an MMO. Finding a competent team is part of the challenge of getting the badge. You post on the forums all the time. And now you're like: "ZOMG! You expect me to actually TALK to other REAL PEOPLE?!?!" C'mon man! Seriously?
  4. Yeah. After a solid year of constant weekly threads on the forum screaming "This game is too easy!!!!!!!!!eleventyoneoneone111!!!!" the devs finally said "Yeah, ok we hear you" and added a difficult Task Force and an additional really difficult mode to the game. What did you expect them to do? 🤪
  5. As this forum's hypercritical jerk who frequently gets blasted (and not always without merit) for criticizing the developers, let me just say: yes. This game is very much in active development. In fact, the Homecoming developers have been adding more bug fixes and quality of life up updates to this game that was often the case on the retail servers. Plus they're adding new power sets and actual new mission content. Welcome home, Weegyboard! May you enjoy many many hours in Paragon City.
  6. No it isn't. As an adult and teammate you have a responsibility to try to work with your other teammates. Saying "hey guys, what are we doing" is the absolutely minimum effort of teamwork. Or are you going to claim that asking questions is hard? I've known a lot of people who were very competent at their specific field who aren't leaders, they aren't the same thing. And, in any case, there needs to be one leader, just as there needs to be one person managing a schedule, otherwise you end up with conflicts. No, sorry. I absolutely refuse to believe that anyone who's found Homecoming, figured out how to download and run the game, played awhile, figured out how to join a team or task force, is then suddenly so stupid that they can't even say "hey guys, I don't know what I'm supposed to do, can someone explain it to me?" And if they're that uninterested in what's going on then why would they have joined that team/task force in the first place? Look, I'm one of those who believes that when anything goes wrong it's always the Captain's fault. Always. But, if you were the one who caused the ship to sink then it's your fault too. And trying to use "oh, I'm too incompetent and uninterested to ask a question" is really not a defense. Or at least it's a defense that you should be too embarrassed to use. But hey, if refusing to learn and blaming all of your mistakes on others, instead of accepting some personal responsibility, is your thing then... Welcome to Twitter! 🙂
  7. I don't usually agree with Snarky, but when I do it's because he's right. Invuln blooms early. Other Tanker primaries can be made tougher, but not really at lower levels. My main is an Invuln/EM Tanker. Her build is such that when exempted down to level 20 she has all of her toggles including Combat Jumping, Tough and Weave. Definitely take Snarky's advice and get a Performance Shifter proc and a Miracle and/or Panacea HP/End proc. Dark Melee is great for making you more tough because the -ToHit stacks well with the defense from Invincibility. Broadsword, Katana, Martial Arts, Staff and Titan Weapons are great because they all have a "parry" attack that gives you a defense buff. Radiation Melee attacks all have a defense debuff. This means that the entire team will do more damage to your target. This can increase your durability because faster kill time means less attacks against you. Battle Axe, Mace and Super Strength help by knocking your target up or down a lot. They can't attack you while they're picking themselves up off of the deck. Ice Melee attacks all slow the target. -Recharge means less attacks against you, which means less incoming damage. While my main is Energy Melee, I don't recommend it for low level play. Energy Melee is a late bloomer.
  8. True. And the entire attack being stopped is reflected in the high defense. But there's nothing wrong with adding in some Absorb, so that if the attack does get through the force field has at least slowed the attack somewhat. Also, I agree that Force Field should also come with a high DDR. Force Field will be absolutely worthless at max level, especially during the new challenge mode, if every fight is just going to debuff the force fields to zero. Without DDR the challenge mode teams will just say "No FF lol. We need da hEalz0rs!"
  9. Exactly the point that I was trying to make with the D&D reference. Sure, the fight with the big bad villain at the end should be hard, but when I'm 10th level getting ambushed by a couple of highwaymen shouldn't be a challenging fight.
  10. Yeah well, considering that he hasn't been able to do anything to stop the Midnighters from running around time unchecked I'm not exactly worried about him getting angry with me. I know, I wouldn't like him when he's angry, eight? But I've got a secret. I've never liked him.
  11. A lot of super hero comics and movies would start with the iconic hero stopping a pair of muggers or something equally non-challenging. This would introduce the audience to the character and allow them to see how powerful he is without having to do any exposition. And it usually looked cool. Like the scene where a robber's bullet bounces off of Superman's eyeball. But you won't feel super if the enemies just ramp up without any option or choice. One of the mistakes that a lot of D&D DM's make is always ramping up the enemies to keep them on par with the characters. So fights never get any easier. So people don't feel like they've leveled up. They don't feel more powerful at 15th level than they did at 5th because they still just barely survive every fight. So it's best to have both challenging content and easy content. Sure I can get my friends together and we can go do a challenging 801 AE mission and have fun doing it. And sometimes we can go and beat up a bunch of council just to feel super. TL;DR: I'm glad the challenge mode will be in the game soon and I'm glad that normal "easy mode" content will still be there as well.
  12. First, thank you for responding. And thank you explaining rather than getting defensive and/or attacking me. Secondly, perhaps then an in game email, perhaps sent automatically when the ticket gets closed, that says "A GM has read your report." At least then people wouldn't feel that the reports are just being ignored and/or not read. Please remember, it's not that players are making baseless assumptions. Players will often star and/or friend the account they've reported. Then, when they see the account is still online days later, it appears that no action has been taken. We're not in the loop so we can only make decisions based on available information. And finally, I want to say thank you to you, and to the entire Council of Thirteen, for keeping Homecoming up and running and still alive with updates.
  13. I'm really looking forward to this challenge mode hitting the live servers. However, I hope that the mods and devs are already prepared to deal with the following: Don't make this game about the trinity again! Why can't I PUG on Mega-Death difficulty!?! It's not fair that Sentinels get a mez toggle and Blasters don't! All character should immediately get X temp power when zoning in to a mission that's set on Mega-Death difficulty! Sentinels don't do enough damage! The devs are trying to force me to get on Discord and actually *gasp* talk to other people!!! ZOMG! Mega-Death difficulty is waaaaaay too hard!!!!111eleventyone111!!!!
  14. Oh, I never thought of that. Can I get @Yomo Kimyata to finance a build for me? I love the Cascade Archipelago. And I even know how to get to it! 😄
  15. Completely understandable. Is there any chance we could get a time machine, or time portal, or something for bases that will allow us to attach Cimerora and echo zone beacons to it then?
  16. Because this is a super hero game and people want to be SUPER. Agreed. And the developers know this too which is why the new "Challenge Mode", or whatever it's being called, is going to be hitting the live servers in a few days. That was never the problem. The problem was the people spamming the forums with threads about how they wanted the entire game to become more challenging. A lot of us do not want the game to become more challenging for our low level, or non-optimized, characters simply because the game is too easy for IO'd out incarnates. The soon to be released Challenge Mode fixes the problem of the game being too easy for incarnates without wreaking the game for characters who aren't at that level yet. This was an incredibly good idea on the devs' part and I'm glad that they were able to add it to the game. Once it goes live though I'll just be waiting for the new threads demanding that Challenge Mode be set as the default mode for the entire game. You know it'll happen. I've already got money bet on it.
  17. So making people angry actually increases my rep? Oh geez. No wonder why my rep count is so high. .
  18. Which is exactly why sending an in game email from a GM to the reporting player with a "He's been warned" or a "He was given a time out" or something like that would fix that problem. The system breaks down because you GM's refuse to disclose if any action is taking place, we can't see any action taking place, so it feels like no action is taking place. Every single time I log on to Siege I constantly see "xXxRacistNamexXx was banned by Battle Eye" fly across my screen constantly. You know what I know about Siege? I know for a fact that if I do anything stupid I'll get banned by Battle Eye. Everyone knows that. Here, everyone's convinced that nothing happens because they only see nothing happen. The system breaks down because of your rules, GM Kal. Will you ever consider changing your rules? No? Then the system's going to keep breaking down. You could fix it, but you won't. That's on you.
  19. No, you're probably right. It's almost certainly long time players who are complaining about the game being too easy after they've gotten their characters to tier 4 incarnate with all +5 purple set IOs.
  20. I just want to thank the Council of Thirteen for listening to our feedback and reverting the changes to the P2W Amplifiers.
  21. When the forum update hit a couple of days ago we had forum badges that were displayed. Then crybabies cried that it'd create a class system where their precious opinions would be ignored because they weren't part of the Forum Illuminati, and they'd be gulaged, and it wasn't fair, etc, etc, etc. So the devs canned the whole thing about 15 minutes later. .
  22. Yeah. Sarcasm doesn't come through in text form. May I recommend that, in the future, you add a smiley or a (j/k) or something to the end of your post?
  23. I also still see the number of posts and reputation under the avatar pic, just like before. I wonder if there's an option that you need to check, or uncheck, that will fix this issue.
