  1. I find /macro OFF SuppressCloseFX 1$$SuppressCloseFXdist 300$$Noparticles 1 helps a great deal with overly flashy teammates. /macro ON SuppressCloseFX 0$$SuppressCloseFXdist 0$$Noparticles 0 Will change things back when you are back among the civilized.
  2. Funny. On my Stormies, I find O2 Boost to be the quintessential "Teammate is in trouble" power. Doesn't matter much what the trouble is, it just fixes it (or at least helps). Of course Lightning Storm, KB->KD Tornado, and Freezing Rain make their problems go away pretty well...
  3. The secret to loving teleport, combat or regular, is to reduce the pain of using it. /bind LCTRL+mouse1 powexecname Combat Teleport is my solution. A quick ctrl-click and I'm on the other side of the room. I love it!
  4. Ah! Someone else bought an Amazon refurb!
  5. Is anyone else having these mini-mapservers that interrupt what you're doing, but don't throw you out of the game? Before the leaves fell off the trees, I was getting those several times a night.
  6. The extended copyright periods are flat out stealing from us, the public. Just this year, the last Sherlock Holmes stories passed into the public domain. But Batman, born a decade later? Never gonna happen.
  7. Ever since PA became customizable, they've been a personal favorite. I wish we could at least lay a color tint on pets. Is a lick of paint on my bots too much to ask? And I agree, Controllers should get at least the Aggressive/Passive/Defensive level of pet control. It's the name of the archetype, after all!
  8. Voted. Thanks for the heads-up!
  9. You said it, O Master of Snark! I am forced to buy some kind of teleport on my Ill/* controllers, because the Phantom Army stand around looking... well, very nice, actually, because I modeled them on myself... but they don't attack anything unless I TP behind the baddies. Once they charge in, I can TP back and they'll stay engaged, but I'm forever saying "BRB" to PUGS so they know I'm not running out on them. But my Symphony pets are just ignorable. They sometimes help, but no need to be a slave to them. Is that an improvement?
  10. Don't forget the Patrol Bonus XP, and of course you're counting the P2W 2x, correct?
  11. My favorite for this holiday is Santa's Stunt Double: (Sorry to break it to you, kids, but Santa doesn't do his own stunts!) Bio: Yeah, you see Santa catching a smoke behind the mall? That's me. You see some movie where Santa gets conked on the noggin? Me. See Santa swigging from a flask to keep off the chill? Me. He just delivers the presents. I do the dirty work. Hey, Merry Christmas, know what I'm saying?
  12. Not a fan of the "entire screen-filling" sfx. But I forgave the set all sins the first time I used Meteor outdoors. (My friends in voice chat know a "special delivery" is on its way when I start giggling...) I don't mind needing to be on the ground. It's where they keep the Earth, after all!
  13. ... But Mastermind pets now treat Stealth as full invisibility, and lose their "The Boss is here! Shape up!" bonuses. Before, stacking Superspeed and Stealth didn't do that, since neither made the pets start running around like headless chickens.
  14. The only reason I'm no longer called paranoid is that reality caught up.
  15. Played some Arkham City over the weekend just to hear his voice again. Really great guy; extremely gracious in person. The world is bleaker without him. You put it very well! He deserved better. Everyone does.
  16. Babies are indeed icky. Until it's your baby. Then it's icky and cute.
  17. Don't count the "account is already logged in" in your troubleshooting. That's a known issue, and happens even with graceful logouts if you're fast enough. Try setting Afterburner to a default profile, just to see if the problem persists. CoH doesn't need overclocking anyway! Good luck!
  18. The progressives aren't bad, once you learn to focus by looking up and down.
  19. Cool. In IP, where some warehouses were packed in like sardines, I used to entertain my self by telling teammates, "Meet you inside!" Then running to the door across the narrow alley from the entrance and disappearing inside. Wonder if it still works?
  20. I have used Zenni for years. They're not a bargain store, but a factory mail-order biz using hi-tech manufacturing, and cutting out the middle men. My titanium-framed, progressive bifocals, with clip-on lenses for sunglasses, night driving, red/green 3d movies (not kidding), and polarized 3d, were ~$120, delivered in a week or so, and have been my favorites. They have plastics with varying indices of refraction, depending on your scrip, and an AR app that lets you upload a pic for a virtual try-on. The only catch is you need to know both your scrip AND your inter-pupilary distance, which some docs/glasses shops try to keep secret for just this reason. (Then they order your glasses from Zenni, and mark 'em up!) Not a shill, just a very satisfied customer.
  21. If you are interested in the story, your only option is to lead the team, otherwise you won't be able to read all the story stuff. (Apparently the Narrator only talks to the boss. Who knew?)
  22. I thought doors right next to each other were considered as the same door by the game. Has this changed?
  23. And now we know it was rushed for RL reasons with Faultline (who was apparently the best at compiling this mess)! Hope all works out well!
  24. Don't forget that logging your character out of the game will get you out of any place you get trapped in a base. And if for some reason you need a back-door way to enter your base: Try self-destructing and choose to go to your base rez machine instead of the hospital. Hope you get your TARDIS fixed soon!
