  1. I had no idea such a thing existed! It has a channel that plays old Doctor Who (1st-7th Doctor) episodes 24/7. It skips all the incomplete stories (no recons, telesnaps, or animated episodes*) but is still pretty amazing fun for no money! Unlike Shout, it is dealer's choice, not on demand, but still wonderful background entertainment. It has ads -- usually for other Pluto channels -- but not egregious amounts. They're just a bit strange in the timing. (I suspect an AI inserts the breaks.) It's rather like PBS in the good old days, without the fundraising guilt marathons. Other channels run Mission:Impossible, Addams Family, Twilight Zone, and Bob Ross. Anyway, my friends have been keeping this a secret, so I thought I'd share. Edited to add: * And yet here I am, partway through Shada, a partially animated story!
  2. No XP+double inf, along the lines of what used to happen when you disabled XP. But opt-in, since it would be a P2W buff. It could also turn off recipe/insp drops, if that makes it more fair.
  3. To a slow, old, ex-sorcerer? Playing a Rad/Rad Sentinel, and enjoying it more than I expected, but it seems as though I can slot just about every power with one of these suckers. Is that at all wise? The description says it will trigger roughly 3.5 times per minute. Is that per power, per proc, or something else? Apologies if this is a dumb question, but I've been searching this forum, the wiki, and the Internet at large and coming up empty.
  4. The only thing that I hate more than Mids is respeccing. Like resource management sims, that stuff is too much like real life! (NB: I would very much love a way to move a slot or two without a full respec!) And I make liberal use of the unslotting salvage items. But for me, respeccing is admitting I chose... poorly. So, yeah, concept is king. I pick powers by feel. Yeah, this feels right for this character. That said, I can't resist a beautiful shiny like the Panacea, Performance Shifter, or Numina specials. Specials are queen? So, I guess I blunder along, making choices as I go, informed by experience and the advice of others, but not limited by it. Just like real life, I guess. (Inconsistent/Hypocrite badge for the Doc, woot!)
  5. At least get the P2W travel powers, QoL thing. And the freebie proccing enhancements are very nice at lower levels. But go hardcore if you like! And, Welcome Home!
  6. Not all Tank sets get a Foot Stomp. If it is in concept, but not available to the set, Mighty Leap makes for a handy workaround. Does seem a tad underwhelming, though. (There's a mod to make it at least sound Mighty.)
  7. +1 for the annoying submarine ping mod. It's responsible for my newfound ability to find the damn things. Downside is, I tend to rudely grab glowies even on other people's missions, just to stop the damn pings! Also, and apropos the differently-hearing discussion, is there some reason glowies don't... glow?
  8. Yes, Arcane Bolt is a great blessing to Controllers. When Empowered and Contained especially!
  9. I was at one of those where the Devs' avatars were giant versions of present players! Amazingly satisfying to help take down a gigantic version of yourself! I'd contribute to a fund to sponsor/trigger events like that!
  10. I've seen this behavior recently also. I'm not sure why it's Untargetable to me, but can be targeted by pets. Perhaps it's already labelled untargetable, but the pets ignore the flag? It was entertaining the first few times, but it gets tedious quickly.
  11. 1. Discord is objectively awful. 2. I like to help when I can. 3. I often learn stuff. 4. Sometimes forum folks make me laugh. Out loud.
  12. As mentioned, Tips missions often provide a welcome change of pace. I'd also suggest you hit the Signature missions, and at least find out Who will die? And I'm a huge fan of the Respec missions. No need for them now, but a fun ride nonetheless.
  13. I find /macro OFF SuppressCloseFX 1$$SuppressCloseFXdist 300$$Noparticles 1 helps a great deal with overly flashy teammates. /macro ON SuppressCloseFX 0$$SuppressCloseFXdist 0$$Noparticles 0 Will change things back when you are back among the civilized.
  14. Funny. On my Stormies, I find O2 Boost to be the quintessential "Teammate is in trouble" power. Doesn't matter much what the trouble is, it just fixes it (or at least helps). Of course Lightning Storm, KB->KD Tornado, and Freezing Rain make their problems go away pretty well...
  15. The secret to loving teleport, combat or regular, is to reduce the pain of using it. /bind LCTRL+mouse1 powexecname Combat Teleport is my solution. A quick ctrl-click and I'm on the other side of the room. I love it!
  16. Ah! Someone else bought an Amazon refurb!
  17. Is anyone else having these mini-mapservers that interrupt what you're doing, but don't throw you out of the game? Before the leaves fell off the trees, I was getting those several times a night.
  18. The extended copyright periods are flat out stealing from us, the public. Just this year, the last Sherlock Holmes stories passed into the public domain. But Batman, born a decade later? Never gonna happen.
  19. Ever since PA became customizable, they've been a personal favorite. I wish we could at least lay a color tint on pets. Is a lick of paint on my bots too much to ask? And I agree, Controllers should get at least the Aggressive/Passive/Defensive level of pet control. It's the name of the archetype, after all!
  20. Voted. Thanks for the heads-up!
  21. You said it, O Master of Snark! I am forced to buy some kind of teleport on my Ill/* controllers, because the Phantom Army stand around looking... well, very nice, actually, because I modeled them on myself... but they don't attack anything unless I TP behind the baddies. Once they charge in, I can TP back and they'll stay engaged, but I'm forever saying "BRB" to PUGS so they know I'm not running out on them. But my Symphony pets are just ignorable. They sometimes help, but no need to be a slave to them. Is that an improvement?
  22. Don't forget the Patrol Bonus XP, and of course you're counting the P2W 2x, correct?
  23. My favorite for this holiday is Santa's Stunt Double: (Sorry to break it to you, kids, but Santa doesn't do his own stunts!) Bio: Yeah, you see Santa catching a smoke behind the mall? That's me. You see some movie where Santa gets conked on the noggin? Me. See Santa swigging from a flask to keep off the chill? Me. He just delivers the presents. I do the dirty work. Hey, Merry Christmas, know what I'm saying?
  24. Not a fan of the "entire screen-filling" sfx. But I forgave the set all sins the first time I used Meteor outdoors. (My friends in voice chat know a "special delivery" is on its way when I start giggling...) I don't mind needing to be on the ground. It's where they keep the Earth, after all!
