  1. My one homage traces almost every detail back to the original character - but it's very non obvious (deliberately so, she's my character, not theirs). @ZacKing has it right though. Whether something is a rip or a homage can get complicated. There's way too much HWFO every time this topic comes up.
  2. Yup. I knew that, but decided I'd derailed the thread enough. 🙂
  3. Wouldn't this be best posted over in the Defender forum?
  4. Wars over salt, taxes on salt, a barrier built right across a heckin' continent to control access to salt. And the salt fish trade in the Baltic and across the Atlantic a couple of centuries later. Sitting 'above the salt' and 'below the salt'. The Union's targeting of Confederate salt works during the Civil War... And no Roman soldiers were not paid in salt. That's an urban legend. (Can you tell I recently write a short paper for a presentation on the history of salted meats and ended up going down all sorts of rabbit holes in the process?)
  5. Nit: MM pets do not have Super Jump (A forward moving jump that inherits the player's horizontal velocity), they have Super Leap (a vertical jump with no significant horizontal velocity).
  6. You can already do that to a large extent. And you left out the countering disadvantage. The more granular your storage (the more SG's you have) the more complex and time consuming it becomes to manage. And the more complex it is to manage, the fewer and fewer people that will actually do it. Only the most dedicated basement dwelling neckbeard is really going to have the time, energy, and attention span to totally detach themselves from the economy. Let alone the interest in doing so.
  7. It would probably help to use the /whereami command and a screenshot to correctly ID the map in question.
  8. The Tool, Utilities, and Downloads subforum might also prove helpful: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/forum/60-tools-utilities-amp-downloads/
  9. There's no current open Beta, so I suspect it's not a high priority task. I mean, they leave it up as a courtesy, it's not something they owe us or anything. (Plus it's Saturday fer goshsakes.)
  10. No, it makes less than zero sense - because the message I'm quoting is the very first mention of any sort regarding urgency. It also misses the point that allowing griefers to talk to Posi can mess up teams of people, more than one of which might want the badge.
  11. I've seen it happen a couple of times, and I have a very hard time believing that something that takes two clicks is an accident.
  12. On the flip side, my Controllers, Defenders, and Masterminds (who are all support/pet support focused) have been having a blast. If you can keep your allies alive, the mission is almost trivial.
  13. I find my EA toons, with it's combination of ranged group buffs and heals, solo the mish surprisingly easily.
  14. Gold won't work because that color is associated with Goldside. Otherwise sounds good.
  15. Yeah, I ended up buying a new computer (that could just barely run CoH) because the one I had was a .2FPS slideshow during combat. When I came back to Homecoming I set everything to max just out of curiosity... and, wow. Though I am finding the start of the wedding mission or a Rikti invasion sometimes turns into a bit of a slideshow, but that much going on in that small a space is something of an anomaly.
  16. She is very obviously a Defender. 🙂 🙂
  17. Do bad badge locs go in this thread or in dedicated posts?
  18. I am Doc Scorpion and I approve of this message.
  19. Though I wish the game hadn't died... I'm very glad we were spared that nightmare coming to life.
  20. Oh, we knew about it. But given the insane costs for all but the most useless set IO's... (Heck, even desirable common IOs could get pretty spendy.) It just wasn't practical for any but the most hardcore.
  21. My friend you took pains in the first post of the now locked thread to deliberately and intentionally draw a clear and bright line between having actions taken against you and you making objections to in game content. Please don't treat us as if we lacked reading comprehension and thus misunderstood what you so clearly said.
  22. That's something on your end. You don't have an AV software running that might have (mistakenly) quarantined the files?
  23. The best coffee is, by definition, the cup that's hot and in my hand.
  24. Most (all?) cons allow people to submit applications to host a panel... From there, the decision is on the con staff. It's a dice roll, but one worth trying if the moderator is ready just in case it does get accepted. Getting more than a panel is likely to be tough. There's only so much space, and when you're talking a Comic Con or similarly scaled con there's a lot of demand for it. I'm a member of a group that puts on multiple events a year, so we have processes in place and thoroughly understood roles - and it's still rougher than I think many people realize. (And there's a metric buttload of details that aren't always obvious to the attendee.)
