Some folks like to be useful to the community and actively provide help to those who ask. That is why we don't mute or remove the Help channel. And that's also why I don't care for it being an anything goes chat channel - because my attention is constantly pulled away by inane noise because I have to read what pops up to see if it's a request for help only to find that it's a pair of idiots discussing their favorite TV show. That's the central problem with the Help channel being used as an anything goes chat channel, a small number of self centered idiots are consuming the attention (and screen space) of everyone monitoring the channel.

Maybe for you... It's not clear that's true for everyone. (It's certainly not all that easy for me.)

Yup. The storyline was leading up to the Coming Storm - the Battalion. They were what Incarnates were intended to fight.

Splitting the Fighting Pool into Off and Def Pools.
Doc_Scorpion replied to Cooltastic's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It's pretty simply to understand, and blatantly obvious to anyone who spends even a tenth of second intelligently examining the current pools: There's a mix of powers, some more desirable than others as well as mix of powers between pools that requires the player to make intelligent choices of his limited power and power pool choices. You've essentially created Epic level pools and proposed making them available as a normal power pool. Seen by the min-maxers as "bad, a waste, a power tax" isn't the same as a power actually being "bad, a waste, a power tax". Min-maxers generally don't care for intelligent game design. -

For all intents and purposes, it's actually all but indistinguishable from round 1 as it suffers from the same flaw - power creep due to having all advantages, and no disadvantages. Back to the drawing board. -

o.0 I don't know of any level 20 toons that have Incarnate abilities. Or 30. Or 40... Or, to put it another way, there's more to the game than post-50. -

The original version of Defiance didn't help matters any - because it encouraged Blasters to get in close and operate right at the red line.

Dr. Vahzilok dresses as Dr. Frank-N-Furter - after all: "in just seven days, oh, baby I can make you a man".

Unless it's been posted in the last few days, I can't see where it matters if it's already been posted. This is a free form, stream of consciousness kinda thing.

*All*? /jranger unless applied with care - otherwise folks could potentially be running into AV's in missions as far down as single digit levels, and certainly in their teens. Frostie, for example, is hard enough as it is. I don't even want to face him as an AV at level 9!

I had that happen the other night with the Banner event... I just opened my Missions tab and kept track that way.

issue 26 Patch Notes for October 1st, 2019
Doc_Scorpion replied to The Curator's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
There was a very visible change - Tequila downloaded something, and my anti-virus tripped because a Homecoming file had been changed. Patch notes are how we know that the change was official. -
I almost never leave a mission in progress... But I would have bailed at the end of the second mission at the latest.

What powersets *look & feel* powerful?
Doc_Scorpion replied to biostem's topic in General Discussion
My Katana scrapper looks delicate and refined, yet enemies fall before him. To me, delicacy and precision producing such effects is the definition of powerful and impressive. I love to watch him go about his work. That's the core question here, what do you mean by "looks powerful and impressive?" Most of the answers here revolve around flash and SFX, is that what you're looking for? -
Cult movies.... just sayin'.

Choosing to like the jacket (like Crab AT) is not the same as choosing to buy the jacket (choosing the Crab AT). Setting aside the logical fallacy of comparing apples to oranges... If you choose to buy the jacket (chose the Crab AT), you're decided you can live with the color you don't like because you can't live without the cut and styling. If you don't like the color, don't buy the jacket. If you choose to buy the jacket anyhow, don't blame others for the consequences of your choice. (And least, that's the best I can get out of the convoluted "logic" of what you wrote.) 0.o Right. You don't see why there is a thematic or story reason to hang onto the part that defines the AT. It's easy to reach a predetermined conclusion when you rest your arguments on assumptions designed to reach that conclusion. And with that, I'm done here. I've repeated myself until I'm blue in that face - and the only response is ever more convoluted and bizarre (il)logic. -

Words simply fail me. I cannot understand how anyone can believe something so logically inconsistent. That's an assumption you've pulled from thin air. And it's an irrelevant one as the VEATs are defined as being Arachnos creations. -

Again with the hype... I'm not proposing on doubling down on anything. I'm saying TANSTAAFL. You want the advantages and powers, you get the inherent disadvantages, the same as any other AT. -

0.o I'll try (again) to make this clearer. If you choose to be a Crab, you choose to have a backpack. Nobody is forcing anything on you. 0.o Again with the illogic. Once built by Arachnos, always built by Arachnos. Who you're aligned with or in service to is irrelevant. What you've added or become later is irrelevant. -

Nobody is forced to choose Crab as an archetype and thus nobody is forced to have the backpack. *facepalm* You do understand that a Crab is, by definition, an Arachnos technological construct? -
I am sure this is unpopular, but I miss the city life

I think folks forget that some of the "moar hardcore" doesn't just spring from the desire to make the game harder - it also springs from a concern over the social aspects that spring from an easier game. You also have to consider that attracting new players and retaining existing players is still a thing, money is still needed to keep the lights on even if it's donated voluntarily rather than extracted monthly.
