  1. We're discussing making new catgirls (and catbois) in the OOC/RP channels right now! Expect to see an influx tonight.
  2. You heard it here, folks! Jimmy hates Synapse! . . . I have a feeling no one is shocked.
  3. I bet it'll work if GM Widower's the one who says it.
  4. Something like: /target_rank_next Boss ? Sounds like a good Quality of Life addition. What's the feasibility on that? Any codeheads around with some wisdom to dispense on this one?
  5. Is anyone else getting shades of Sir Bron of the Blackwater out of this?
  6. Any time I hear someone say that Redside's maps are "drab" or "lack content," I get full-on confused. Is their game broken? Is the zone not rendering properly? Did something happen to wash out the colour and fuzz over the details? I've said it before ( https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/13460-unofficial-villain-server/?tab=comments#comment-138278 ) and I'll say it again: The Etoile Isles are INCREDIBLY vibrant and vital. They feel -alive!- They feel like places I could go in the real world. Blueside feels like so much painted cardboard. ESPECIALLY places like Steel (Box) Canyon.
  7. I think that if you wish to discuss Super Reflexes, as they relate to all Archetypes, then the Brute Week discussion may not actually be the ideal place for it.
  8. You'll have to wait until the last Saturday of the month, chuck. Which happens to be the end of the month this time, so the 29th.
  9. I mean, if you're going to destroy the world, you may as well do so from the inside and recused of any potential world-ending evil authority because "I have a Heroing License!"
  10. If there's anything I like to get blamed for, it's inciting people to make Alts!
  11. Likewise, it would be nice if the Ninja Stance animations were decoupled from Ninja Run. Since Ninja Run and Beast Run are mechanically providing the same Jump and Run buffs, there only needs to be one Travel Power Toggle, and then we could have the animations separate. Theoretically, anyway. I've heard the code doesn't allow for the alternative animations to be "loose" like that, though. Not sure if that's true, given the source.
  12. You stole a WHOLE google? Wow.
  13. I'm not against incentives being used to encourage Redside, but I would also like them to be a bit more unique than just flat reward increases. People already have power-levelling down to a crude science in AE and Radio missions. I don't really think any amount of XP bonus Redside would be enough to make people -play- Redside. They'd probably just end up farming it, like they currently do with Blueside/AE. I think the Redside Arcs all need some rewriting to give the player more agency in them (daunting task, but one I would personally be willing to do, given the opportunity). But rewards like more Temp Powers, or maybe even permanent Powers, might help. Like the Flames of Prometheus. I'd be happy to see more content like that! Especially if it could be something less magicky, and more anything-else'y.
  14. Thanks, Sif. Looks like I just should have read Oubily's signature further up in the thread, ha!
  15. uh . . . I Convert IOs in my inventory all the time. In fact, I've -never- Converted a Slotted IO. Did you mean Attune, Frostbiter? But you can also get the Attuned versions of Enhancements straight from the market, since the IOs are bucketed across level/Attunement anyway.
  16. Paging Doctor who-ever-it-is-that-has-the-thread-about-muting-specific-sounds-with-mods! . . . sorry. I suck at remembering names.
  17. You might get some good mileage out of Attuned versions of IOs then. They level up with you, up to their maximum level, or if you Exemplar a lot, you don't lose the Enhancement Bonuses. Note: You don't need to Attune Purple IOs, since they get the benefits of Exemplaring regardless. https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Exemplar_Effects_on_Enhancements
  18. Welcome Home, Germanlink! If you haven't already, please feel free to join the OOC/RP Global Channels ( https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/1104-rp-and-ooc-global-channels-code-of-conduct/ ). In-game, type these two commands: /chanjoin OOC /chanjoin RP This will allow you to chat with a bunch of other roleplayers in Out-of-Character and In-Character contexts. Chances are good that if none of the roleplay groups listed here in the forums ( https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/1346-sgvg-recruitment-board/ ) strike your fancy, then someone on the OOC channel can point you toward a roleplay group which would be a good fit for your character. Just remember that Global Channels use your account-specific Global Handle rather than your current character's name. Any time you start a new character, or switch to an existing character after joining a Global Channel, you'll just need to update your Chat Tabs, lest the channel not show up. This can be done quickly by typing this first command when you've configured your Chat Tabs to your liking, and then the second command once per character thereafter. /chatsave /chatload Once again, welcome to the game, and I look forward to catching you in some roleplay! All the best!
  19. I generally don't like conversions. I'm one of those people who like the system to be tailored to the setting. The numerical highs and lows should be representative of the highs and lows of the narrative. For example, I wouldn't use a conversion of the Dark Heresy ruleset to run a Pink Mohawk Cyberpunk game, even if the Critical Wound tables are, frankly, a fun thing to add to -any- system with copious amounts of violence. I also want to share https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMJreH2P5Pc with all of you.

  21. Most likely? The clipping issues between capes and wings. Trenchcoats? Most likely because the trenchcoat "stealth uses" the Back Detail slot, preventing anything else from going there normally.
  22. I had heard of tabletop gaming and roleplay prior to getting involved with it, but attempted to invent my own while still in high school. I was very lonely in high school. I don't think I got very far. I wonder if I could track down those documents, and if I'd even be able to make sense of them if I -did- still have them. Anyway! After that, I "got in" with some roleplayers after accidentally bashing my forehead in to one of their faces. Long story. Very embarrassing for me. Not going in to detail on that one. First tabletop roleplaying game I tried was D&D, and almost immediately thought I hated tabletop roleplaying. Mercifully, I had already become hooked on gaming by this point, so when someone introduced me to Dark Heresy, I discovered the problem wasn't tabletop roleplaying. The problems were a combination of D&D and my first GM. Ever since? I have been running weekly tabletop games. Sometimes multiple sessions in a week. Although sometimes I have also taken a break from being the GM and became the player. Still, over all, I think I'm still sitting very close to "once a week" as my average for GMing. Currently, due to extreme stress at work, I've stepped down from GMing of my on-going Shadowrun campaign. One of my players has stepped up and is hosting Vampire: The Masquerade. It's my first time in nearly two decades of tabletop gaming doing anything with a Whitewolf system. Oh! And a few years back, I tried my hand at a City of Heroes tabletop game from scratch. However, I did not remain objective in that venture, and ended up trying too hard to fully capture the game, rather than extrapolating like should have from the get-go. If Homecoming disappears from us, I'll probably return to working on that project. Basically scrap it and start over.
  23. A catboi's good too! Catpeoples? Catpersons? Jellicle? . . . no. No jellicles. Let's just not.
  24. Quote: "Not until we have the tools in place to give players the power to only view others' Pets as default." Emphasis: "view" Quote: "Hell! Let's go one step further. Let's add a /costume_ignore function which "Generics" another players' appearance on the user's end." Emphasis: "on the user's end." Quote: "Hence the call for commands that give players authority to remove content they don't want to see on a personal basis." Emphasis: "on a personal basis."
  25. From the Code of Conduct, regarding prohibited content/conduct: "Hate speech: "Hate speech is defined as anything threatening or abusive towards a specific group based on their race, religious beliefs, political affiliation, disability, sexual orientation or gender identity "Controversial and adult content, including: "Sexual, provocative, pornographic, or adult content "Violent content "Controversial religious content "Anything involving controversial real-world individuals or organisations "Anything involving sensitive events, both current and historical "These content guidelines apply to anything you can create or share in-game, on our forum..." And so, yeah. I see violations of this all the time. But as I stated in a past post, I see there being a series of "lines," rather than just one. Seems the Devs and GMs share my view. But that doesn't invalidate the experiences and opinions of the players who feel that this Code should be upheld to the letter. So, unless the Homecoming Team wants to relax this Code of Conduct (not advisable, I'd say), then I think it's entirely within reason to accept that other users have every right to call out anything which is technically prohibited. And, again as I said previously, that includes content in the game itself! The Legacy Devs skirted around it too, very rarely actually invoking their own policies on themselves. Again: I am personally not against things the way they are. But to say there isn't an inherent problem with using a system of rules which the authority itself violates feels very "off" to me. Enough to call it out. I don't want censorship. I'd like for everyone to have a game which they're comfortable playing. If there are people vocally shouting down anyone who voices concerns with violations of the Code of Conduct as-written, then I am going to have to turn to an alternative path to promote the game being made comfortable for those players. Hence the call for commands that give players authority to remove content they don't want to see on a personal basis. Hell, get the tool working right, and the GM's workloads could be reduced even -if- the fears of a wave of pimps comes true (which I still hold as incredibly unlikely).
