  1. Not that I want to stop anyone from making genuine suggestions for any ideas which get shared in this thread, but I just thought it would be fun to spitball ideas that would complete a concept you've had sitting in your head, but no existing Sets really -work- for. I know I've got plenty! Contractor Tools Melee - like the weapons which the Dockworkers and Scrapyarders use, along with a bludgeoning Wrench and Shovel. This would be for one of my "salt of the earth, work-a-day civilian of the Etoile Isles" Villains. Bondage Control - ropes, and chains, and cuffs, and . . . look, it's not sexualized or fetishized unless you make it that way! Japan has a rich history with practical shibari for the samurai! . . . stop looking at me like that. Dagger Assault - stabbing and throwing, preferably with a Combo Mechanic like Dual Blades. To pair with my previous suggestion for a Dominator concept I have. SERIOUSLY, STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT! Vocal Control - low-damage/high-control&debuff Set which compels enemies to just surrender over time. That, or it deals Untyped Damage, making up for the lower damage by just being unresistable. I've got a LOT of low-/non-powered characters who I'd reroll from Mind Control in an instant if this became available. Verbal Assault - see above. Grenade Control - this one is more to fill a void in the Control Set roster than for any specific concept I have in mind already, but by gawd! I would use that Set so much! We already have plenty of AoE Grenade Powers with Control-y Effects. Honestly, this one should be low-hanging fruit.
  2. Thanks for the extension!
  3. It came at a very awkward moment, actually . . . the Homecoming Dev Team just announced that the changes to Dark Melee have been scaled back. Looks like Shadow Maul's still going to get its tweaks, but the rest of the Set is heading back to the drawing board to determine AoE viability when there's more time in some certain folks' days. That's the nature of the beast here. I'm glad the Team was involving the community in the process with such depth, rather than focusing on a Closed Alpha prior to the Open Alpha/Beta.
  4. Having a difficulty option to bring back the big-bad specialized enemies would be agreeable to me too. Granted, I'd want anyone teaming with such a Kheldian to get fair warning of the impending nightmare.
  5. The specific issue seems to be some kind of memory leak. Monitoring my system resources when I enter the zone, they jump up about 70%, and then never recover, even when I zone back out. I basically have to invoke a RAM wipe. And then when I multibox, shit really hits the fan, since the resources just get double-queued, rather than the files being shared between the multiple instances of the client program.
  6. It's all laid out in the Beta board right now. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/15985-focused-feedback-dark-melee-update-build-2/
  7. And, you know . . . what I REALLY want to see from Homecoming when it comes to the game lore? More NEW stuff! I really like @holymittens' fantastic work with the Rogue and Vigilante arcs. They weren't perfect, but they were refreshing and impactful, and I got a big kick out of them. I'm happy to have lore established for NEW heroes and villains who leave their mark in the setting. I'd be very, very happy to see lore for underused or unrealized content . . . like the -actual- Banished Pantheon, as opposed to Mot. Let's pretend that someone leaked the most up-to-date lore bible, concept art, and content roadmap to the Homecoming Dev Team. I would not want Homecoming to follow those documents to the letter. I would like them to look at those leaks, then look to this community, and finally reflect upon themselves in each equal measure and answer the question: "What's the best path for us to follow?" I'd like to see the Homecoming Team find a nice balance between all three (again, pretending they had those official documents, and weren't just making assumptions based on the AMAs). But more than any of that, I want to see more tools brought in to the mix to enable and empower players to tell and SHARE their own stories with one another. After all, I'm not here for The Adventures of Statesman and Friends . . . I'm here to get to know the characters of my fellow players, and see where some compelling and enjoyable narratives form in those character interactions. In short; forget about States. We've got the opportunity to go to -interesting- places in the story now!
  8. I'd like to avoid seeing any content get in to Kallisti until that place is cleaned up! It's worse than First/Night Ward for melting my system. I don't know where, exactly, the resources are getting hogged . . . but I can run on max detail on any legacy zone with next to zero impact to my computer's performance, but taking one step in to Kallisti and it's a coin flip on whether my game crashes to desktop or not.
  9. That most recent thread, referenced previously up above: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/15997-give-ms-liberty-a-break/ Some related reading, for previous discussions on this topic: A discussion on the lore and the plans for the lore from the original Dev Team. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/14890-lore-ama-2020/ A call to revert things. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/4123-put-the-statesman-task-force-and-lord-recluse-strike-force-back-as-they-were/ A call to use Ouroboros. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/6267-add-the-old-lrsf-to-ouroboros/ Another call! https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/15104-statesman-back-in-the-lrsf/ Publish an article. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/7613-statesman-deserves-better/ Let's loot his corpse! https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/1580-statesman-is-dead/ And some tangential reading: Hero's Hero. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/9198-down-memory-lane-a-heros-hero/ More Hero's Hero. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/14055-do-you-prefer-a-heros-hero-or-a-heros-epic/ When even are we? https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/1433-the-big-question-of-continuity/ Trying to unravel the lore timeline paradox. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/15114-what-year-is-it-in-paragon-lore/ No. Seriously. WHEN even are we? https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/15543-is-it-time-for-comic-time/ I fall firmly in the camp of "keep 'em dead." Even before I learnt of the association between Jack and States, I always felt Statesman was a weak, flimsy mish-mash of Superman and Captain America, and a dash of Thor, with none of the nuance or interesting depth of any of his forebears. Eventually his character was written to be a self-absorbed pompous windbag, which only made him interesting in a sort of "how long until he gets laid low or killed" sort of way. Huh, and will you just look at that? I'm also keen on keeping Sister Psyche dead, and Darrin Wade. As I've said in the half-a-dozen other threads on this topic, if anyone gets to come back from the dead, it should be Malaise. THAT would be fun! Undead psychic artiste with a chip on his shoulder about someone spoiling his works of art's historic significance by bringing him back from the dead. After all, a true artist is never appreciated in their own time. How much frustration and rage would it inflict upon him to know that his name was but a mere footnote to Darrin Wade's ascension and subsequent fall at the hands of some random schmoe hero?
  10. I mean, the tech is there, if they want to risk it imploding on itself. An NPC can be toggled to be invisible/untargetable, as we can see with Dana Habashy in Atlas Park. We can also see in Port Oakes with the Family that NPCs can be directed to exit from a door, follow a path, and enter another door. And finally, we've seen tech added that turns Contacts -into- mission doors. So, if we have a non-trainer version of Ms. Liberty (for example) step out of a door at x:00am and walk to her pedestal, triggering the hero trainer currently stationed there to go invisible and spawn a non-trainer version of themself, who then follows their path to a door (City Hall?), with non-trainer Ms. Liberty then despawning as trainer Ms. Liberty becomes visible . . . So, it's convoluted, and could probably unravel like a poorly knit sweater in the paws of a feisty kitten . . . but from my understanding of the underlying tech, it's totally possible!
  11. They replenish every few days. I think it's 5 every 3 days? Or maybe 5 once a week. Something like that.
  12. But -would- the Clockwork King be the type to recruit villains for some scheme? I mean, seeing as the King kind of has a reality filter up, and has delusions of nobility and righteousness, wouldn't it be against character for the King to essentially recruit mercenary soldiers from a distant land? Particularly when he seems so self-assured of his own creations'/courts' strength and capabilities? I think it might be more apt that Arachnos or some independent Rogues Gallery Villains come over to Paragon to take advantage of the rather predictable Clockwork King. I mean, I know the writing implies that it's some "great mystery" that the Clockwork "bots" are psychic phenomena . . . but that doesn't mean there couldn't be NPCs who figured it out weeks or months before Positron started to piece it together.
  13. /ma is the Mission Architect Channel, which is Shard-wide just like Help, LFG, and Arena Chat. By the way; good call on the colour for the General Channel, Homecoming Team! It's distinct from any other channel colour I can think of (unlike LFG vs SG, *grumble grumble*).
  14. And here I was, Sif, thinking you were about to suggest that Dr. Vahzilok himself ends up being the trainer under Atlas.
  15. eehhh, 24601 . . . I've been around since Issue 0 and stuff like the Rularuu Invasion and the original Calvin Scott Task Force. A "clear timeline" has never been a thing in this game at any point. I'm also a pretty big proponent for the promotion of content which is available regardless of player level. My personal approach would be to slap ISO standardized dates on all the missions and Story Arcs, so players could see where they fit in temporally.
  16. Might have something to do with knowing exactly where the money is going. If we got to see how much money went to the actual Developers and server maintenance costs versus the publishers, maybe that little bit of information would provide the context we needed back then to feel like we were adequately informed on our purchases.
  17. I like your take on the 5th / Council distinction there, 24601. I hope to see that progress. But it raises the question: Would Flashbacks of Council still have the Warwolves and Vampyri? And what would happen to The Silver Bullet, The Slayer, and Striga Island?
  18. HA! I think I saw you posing for that screenshot! Which Shard are you on, Maag?
  19. Wholehearted agreement. . . . geddit?
  20. I'm okay with it being automatic, but I'm also a huge proponent of player-agency and self-directed control. As such, an option to use the current "refill the Power Trays with this bizarre temp-powers-first priority," just so the people who want it can still have it. I mean, I'll even settle for being able to choose which Sets are prioritized in the Tray refill. Why aren't the Primary and Secondary Sets prioritized!? Why are -temp- Powers the first ones to show up after a Respec?!
  21. Nah, ScarySai. Looks like your post on this page was the first reference to Surge Protection in this particular thread. Granted, it showed up a few times in the old thread. Since some people also like the "Elec" part being fronted for clarity, how about: Electro-Surge Protection? It's a little* long, though. *(very much alot)
  22. How come it took until page 5 to get back to "Surge Protection?" I'm still throwing my hat in to that particular ring, but I am thanklful that the original name was adjusted. Electrical Affinity is a little *wobbles hand* but it's not outright problematic from where I'm seated. I mean, other than "Electrical Affinity" and "Energy Aura" having the same initials. But I'm actually very okay with that! I just know some other people who don't like initials to get reused.
  23. Which day should we elect to have as International Catgirl/Catboi/Catperson Day in Paragon City? (Yes. I know. An International date specifically for Paragon City. QUIET YOU!) And then, on that day, everyone with a catperson (or, sure, puppygirl, ponyboi, gorilla . . . ok, that might start to be stretching it) logs in at the same time. . . . . . . on second thought, this sounds like a terrible idea! Just think of what'll happen to Bastion's little garden when the kitty litters are all full! What is wrong with me!?
  24. Thing is, @nzer; if this option gets added, then your suggestion could also get added. Just have the initial call for a Respec on a character also hit the save command for the Tray layout, and then when the Respec finishes, it automatically applies the load command. Bim. Bam. Sploosh!
  25. I like the exclusivity idea, Alouu! Nice. Even if we don't change the existing 6 Incarnate Slots, perhaps the remaining 4 could be exclusive with Lore, Destiny, Judgement, and Interface. So, of all 8 (excluding Alpha and Hybrid, for this example), you only get 4 more Incarnate Slots to fill.
