Do a shout out for ninja team when you are on. There are ninjas around ... ... not that someone like me would make more than 6 or 10 of them .... on various servers ... just say ... they are out there but might not be on the time that you play. I think I have at least one on Everlasting but I don't have a Ninja Clan/Supergroup on that server. I'll throw one out there for you. Have you tried "Son of Chiba"?

If you are trying to memorize all of these for the portable workbench you are going to spend WAAAAYYYYY more than buying it on the START vendor. You are better off memorizing one that turns well and then selling that to make the money to buy the work bench. You can easily use a workbench in a University or sg base to do this. I'm not faulting you for wanting the portable workbench if that is your goal. I do enough marketing so that many of my 100+ characters have a workbench. When I was still raising capital - across the board - I was using the university or sg workbenches until I had the extra capital on a character to buy a portable workbench. I haven't made a character that has memorized all of them since I have been on Homecoming. I have enough characters that can make the levels of these that I want to manufacture and I know will sell, that I don't bother memorizing any of these any more unless I want the title. There are some good titles in the mix. Want your military ranks? in there. I think I've Used Beguiler, Charming, Mesmerizer, Nuclear Powered, Mystically Powered, Hit Man, ... at least.

Is it possible to fix escort missions?
UltraAlt replied to FreakazoidRobot's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I can see where you are coming from with the master mind. You could send your henchmen ahead and then move up to where they are with hostage/escort and then send the henchmen ahead again. That might help some at least. oh, forgot ... and didn't read through the whole thread ... but ...the escortee/hostage have been buffed to move faster more than one. If I recall correctly, there was even a point where they wouldn't jump down from a raised area and you had to walk them around to where there was a staircase. -
How much in game currency do you have on hand.

Which server(s) are you playing on? How many characters have you made and what archetype are they? -
A friend of mine plays with the view scrolled all the way in so it is first person. To me, being zoomed all the way in is way too much tunnel vision. I scroll mine out so that I can see the character down to their feet above the stuff that I have stacked at the bottom of the screen and sometimes a little further out than that. To me, having it scrolled back that far is like having some peripheral vision. We are all playing to have fun, so whatever makes it fun for you is good-to-go as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure that there are others in the forum that will disagree.

I would take time to look at my signature. There are people that would ruin my experience in the forum if not for putting them on ignore. I don't want to have to do it, but I'm here to share information and discuss things with people can do so without .... what you are running into. Try to start using the function for ignoring those that you feel are using the forms for "stalking and hate crimes". There is at least one player that seems to just search for my posts just to thumb them down. I don't really care when it comes to that. It's annoying but they aren't posting an attack against me, so I can let that slide. There are those here in the thread that are still supporting your idea. Look at the positives, ignore the attacks, and discuss with those that you feel reasonably disagree with you. I have discuss a lot of things here with people that disagree with me. Sometimes it comes to the point - pretty quickly - in some cases where one or both of us realize that we have both made our case on the situation, and it's time to agree to disagree. I don't have to attack them. I don't hate them because they won't "see things my way". I think that they have just as might right to their opinion as I have to mine. In the end, the discussions we have here only have one final arbitrator, and that's the DEVs. They know how they want to spend their time and if something catches their eye and they think they can do it - and can fit it in with the other stuff that they are already working on - then it might have a chance of happening. One of the biggest hurdles that any suggestion comes down to can the old cobbled-together-code handle it without causing the game to lag too much, crash a zone, or crash completely. I think the DEVs have a pretty good ideas of where that line is. But I don't think they want to just say "never going to happen" to any of us when we bring up ideas ... regardless of how good they are if they could be put into the game successfully but it just can't happen. As players we can can of poke around, pull at threads of information that we have, and kind of guess that the kind of things that would probably be impossible because of previous information that we have seen. For example, the Null the Gull options can never be put into the options menu. They were put into Null the Gull as work around. They apparently can't even fix that you have to go in and out of the Null the Gull interface instead of it going back to Null the Gull's main menu after making a choice. Seems like that would be a pretty easy fix, right? Well, it is apparently impossible. How do I know? I suggested and asked in these forms. Was told it was already asked. Given quotes and had discussions with other here in the forms. Jumped on by some, I'm pretty sure. But I asked and there was interaction. Hopefully, the two of us interacting will bring other people's attention to your original post and they can comment on it in a civil manner. I'm not against you or other people wanting this feature. I'm personally against using it, and I think it would require a good percentage of the game population wanting it to make it worthwhile for the DEVs to try to do it. And I just have the strong feeling that the game can't handle it based on multiple things that I have heard in the past.

I like matching super reflexes or ninjitsu with katana. Both are fun to play. My main katana scrapper before the Sunset was super reflexes with the concealment pool. Ninjitsu has that par covered, so ... that being said, I like to play them sneaking around and getting the drop on enemies. I'm not trying to wade into a mob solo and let them all jump my character.

Agreed. have a good one.

This is pretty much hidden in your post. I'm tired, but I had to use the chrome search option to search your post to see if it was actually in there. People play tanks differently. I know that there are a good amount of players that think that they should be damage dealers and shouldn't taunt at all, but I think taunt is extremely important for a tank. I don't consider a tank that doesn't taunt to be a tanker if they are on a team. I usually slot up my taunt so it recharges faster. I put that https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Perfect_Zinger:_Chance_for_Psionic_Damage and a couple (2) other Perfect Zingers in there. Who doesn't want a zero-end power that has chance to do damage? and psionic at that! Really get those enemies mad at you! You can taunt them run behind a corner. A controller runs out as they rush up and glues them down so they can't get LoS (line of sight) to target you, and you are safe from all damage until you pop your head round the corner to taunt them down again. Meanwhile, the rest of the team is battering them senseless and they can't attack anyone but you! Sure you can jump in the middle of them if you want. Wade in and keep them hitting you left and right while your teammates are safe to batter them down, but some tactics are good unless you just plan on end-gaming steamrolling.

I found out about his passing over the weekend. I really didn't know who to say anything to about it. He loved to make movies and he made them ... regardless of what other people thought of them. He wasn't a Russ Meyer or an Ed Wood. He wasn't really something between those two, but kind of in the same spirit on some levels. Some Sci-fi. Some tease. Some horror. Some fantasy. It look like he was able to make what he wanted to make and make some money at it, so good on him. Follow that dream. Sometimes it pays off if you keep at it. How can I phrase it so as not to give away too much? (because I'm keeping on my mask) ... Someone once told me something to the effect of "I've seen people that do what you do a lot better that never got any exposure, didn't make any money, and gave up; but I've seen people that are way worse at what you do that got exposure and made money because they kept doing what they do." Now that I'm older, I see examples of this all the time.

I have already pointed out the systems that are in game to communicate with people that you have previously gamed by utilizing systems already in the game - that is if they want to take part in that communication. You can be a member of all the global channels that you want to be part of. This is extra work for the DEVs because you don't want to use the existing systems. What? Like that invention system? The incarnate system? It isn't cumbersome at all if you have even tried it. Have you? The downside is the DEVs time, how complicate it may be to implement (if at all based on CoH's coding), and what possible crashing issues and additional lag it may cause.

@Starhammer Back before the Fall of the City and the subsequent Sundown, I was in a group called the Repeat Offenders. Maybe some of you from back then heard of them. The Repeat Offenders was a multi-supergroup mult-server gaming group. Players organized through the Repeat Offenders global channel. (anyone can create a global channel) Set Supergroups ran on set nights at set times. Players meet up through the global and then characters assembled at specific location on that supergroups server. Supergroups were generally limited to 8 - or so it seemed to me. If players wasn't actively running with a supergroup when they were on, they could use the Repeat Offenders' global channel to recruit. I often jumped servers to team up with other members of the Repeat Offenders on whatever server they were recruiting for. (Like now, I had characters on every server) That system seemed to work pretty smoothly to me. Sure there is a limit as to how many could be in the global channel (I recall it being 250 something). I don't think that the number of channel users ever became an issue. If you are all on the same server, you can get way more characters into 5 supergroups than into a global channel and coalition the 5 supergroups together - and use coalition chat. Players want individual bases? No problem. They can keep at least one character in one of the coalition-ed supergroups and one in their personal supergroup and /altinvite characters back and forth all that they please. I don't see a reason for the suggested system. I don't think the CoH program can handle it and/or it would be too complicated for the DEVs to implement. If the suggested system was added to the game, I would never use it. I do use coalition chat from time to time. (I'm not currently part of any global chat channels) I stated why I wouldn't use the proposed change/addition in my first post in this thread. I strongly suggest try using the communication systems already built into the game, and then come back with information about the issues with using those systems before trying to add a new feature to the game that those already existing communication options most likely can handle.

I don't think that you should stop making suggestions that you think will help other people simply because I or anyone else disagrees with you. Plenty of people disagree with me, but I still make suggestions from time to time. You are getting much more feedback on this thread than I usually get when I make suggestions and that means you hit on something that people want to discuss. Don't get disheartened when the discussion doesn't go your way. Though I am against it for the reasons that I listed, some people would obviously like this option. You probably game with some of them, so why not bring it up to them that you posted this here on the forums and ask them to come to the forums and comment about Just a thought.

Blinking cursor on login screen: Can barely see it
UltraAlt replied to RikOz's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
As a work around, you could do what I do. I copy my password, click on the password field, and paste my password in. If someone else uses the computer, you could just type - into notepad - copy it, close notepad, don't save, click in the password field, and paste the password into the password field. If you have a password manager, it probably as a notes area in the passwords listings. If you store your access to this website there, you could just go into the notes on that listing and put your password to log into the game there. Lots of options of how to hide a password by disguising what it "is" and "for" your computer as well. -
Discord seems to have decided to call CoH "First Ward" for me for some reason. So I started doing some testing. I think I figured out how to make it work. Close CoH. Close discord. Launch Homecoming/CoH to the login screen, but don't log in. Then open discord, go into User Settings>Activity Settings>Registered Games, click on the "Add it!", click on the arrow for the drop down list, and "City of Heroes" should be showing up there at that point At least that seems to have worked for me.

Exactly. The first thing I do when I login a new character is to set up my trays, load all my macros, and go to the P2W/START vendor before I even start doing anything to gain XP. In tray one, I slot brawl, the inherent archetype ranged power, one or two attack powers (a P2W/START power if only one attack due to having armor for the other starting power) in the first four slots Then 5) Nem Staff, black wand, or other ranged P2W/START power or /macro flw "follow" on melee characters 6) Another P2W/STAT Power with knockback - hand grenades or plasmatic taser 7) a marco to trigger heal insps 6) a macro to tray flip to tray 2 9) a P2W/START flight power 10 or 0 (for you keyboard players) ) some kind of Sprint (Athletic, Ninja, or Beast Run) In tray two, 5) /macro flw "follow" on melee characters 7) a marco to trigger heal insps 6) a macro to tray flip to tray 1 9) a P2W/START flight power 10 or 0 (for you keyboard players) ) some kind of Sprint (Athletic, Ninja, or Beast Run) In tray three, I throw the follow macro in there if non-melee (I'll end up throwing the rest power into slot 10 aka 0 ... once that unlocks) In tray four, I put my /macro AH "ah", Mystic Fortune/Inner Inspiration/Secondary Mutation, a gratz and thanks macros, and sometimes one of the START buff pets. In tray five, any toggle powers. In tray six, a DFB related macro, and the that green fast travel power access list button, in tray seven, ... I might go to the Icon before even starting adventuring to set up some costumes, maybe even including a IB (innocent bystander) costume, make macros for the costume changes, maybe some extra emote macros to do before the costume change macro, and put them in this tray. In tray eight, /macro fx0 "noparticles 1" and /macro fx1 "noparticles 0" In tray nine, nothing unless I'm setting up an IB tray with basic low power attacks like brawl, the inherent archetype throwing weapon, maybe a P2W/START Power or two 7) a marco to costume change into "super" mode 6) a macro to tray flip to tray 1 9) a P2W/START flight power 10 or 0 (for you keyboard players) ) some kind of Sprint (Athletic, Ninja, or Beast Run) .... and then it is usually time to run around and get the badges to unlock the fast travel power by hitting the explore badges in Altas, the pocket D, Steel, and Talos ... Once done with all that, I start looking for ways to get XP. So yeah, my tray 1 is full by the time the rest power drops ... every time.
-
I have that slot filled by the time the rest power would drop, but other powers would normally just move the next open tray slot. I usually end up with all of my tray one filled, but that is including some P2W powers, so at least it won't affect new players. In general, a new player should be okay then. However, since new powers drop in the first open tray slot, so should rest, so it still seems to be a bug that it is limited to only being able to drop into tray 1.

Yep. It still isn't populating into trays like the other new powers when you get it. This could be extremely discouraging for new players. This should be fixed.
-
it seems to be around 30, but I usually click it down to like 27 .... after a couple of laps ... to get it kinda close ....

lol. have you ever read these forums?!
