I found this really detailed explanation the other day: https://forum.cityofheroesrebirth.com/index.php/topic,13.0.html

If you are in defensive mode, then your pets will attack so long as you are being attacked. If you get a runner, or otherwise mez the mob, then yeah, you're not being attacked anymore and the pet AI tells them to go back to their master. So yes, I have noticed this happening, and no, it doesn't bother me I guess (I have something like 20 different MM's, lol). I mean, part of playing an MM is pet management, so yeah, I stance dance between defensive, aggressive, and occasionally passive and I make excessive use of the "attack my target" command. On my bots/nature, I like to throw out the little ground patch, command my bots to "go-to" it and then throw them on aggressive.

Apologies! She must have added that later and I totally missed it!

Rainbow colors, hun, needs to be one of the colors listed in Trixie's post that's from the rainbow. 🙂

A lot of what you're asking for is already available in the rez in Pain Domination. Also, this game does not have, nor need, healers, and if that's how you're playing your empathy character, then you're gimping yourself and possibly your team. And I suspect that you'll run into the cottage rule looking to make that big of a change to empathy's rez.

Tankiest(?) Pet/Secondary Combos?(For the pets not the MM)
TygerDarkstorm replied to Kazyone's topic in Mastermind
My Necro/Elec Aff is pretty tanky, though she's not slotted yet. My Bots/Nature is quite tanky and lots of fun to play, especially once I got her slotted with her basic IO's. Beasts can be surprisingly tanky, and they pair nicely with just about any secondary--if you like a fast, in your face style, /kin is great, though a bit squishier than what you're probably looking for. The toughest pet sets are Demons, Bots, Thugs, and Beasts (though to a lesser extent). Demons and Bots both have pets that can heal each other, so they lend themselves nicely to secondaries that may not (i.e. /cold, /TA). Bots/FF is probably the tankiest option and one of the "classic" MM pairings, and it is also a very hands-off, slow playstyle, so if you like something more active, this may not be the pairing for you. One of my new favorite things to do is experiment with MM combos and see what happens/what works (or doesn't work). You have 1000 slots per server, pick one (or all) of the tanky powersets and then start matching up secondaries. 🙂 -
I'll bring Kincatic, Beast/Kin MM and I'll be yellow

Sorry for the last minute notice but I won't be able to make it. I've gotten sick and have a lot of work to do. Have fun!

They're under tops with skin, not shirts.

Being mezzed turns off all offensive toggles, which is what Time's Juncture is considered. I'm not sure if there's a real good way to avoid being mezzed, but you can always keep break frees handy and pick up Rune of Protection (which can be activated preemptively) and/or build up your defense so more of those mezzes miss.

Here's my fish monster-thing since it seems to be the thing right now, lol. This is Gillie Freeze a Ice/Earth Dominator that my mad scientist Elaina Wrath created. I'm still not sure specifics with this gal other than wanting to do something with the fish head, gloves, and boots, so I'll need to put some thinking into her bio, but otherwise I'm pretty happy with how she turned out. This is Freezing Night, an Ice/Dark corruptor. -
Another MM command: Attack my present target
TygerDarkstorm replied to MsSmart's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Yep, that's why I conceded that to you, and even started to acknowledge the potential pitfalls in my initial post. I made the initial post quickly; it was not a necessarily well-thought out and fully fleshed idea by any means. In this case, more options is much better, and your version makes way more sense. My spur of the moment thought took options away, and in a way that would hurt gameplay, which is never something I would want. -
I'm not real good at making builds, so I'll leave others to help in that regard, however, I'm thinking that maybe Beasts are not the powerset for you. 🙂 You might enjoy Demons, Thugs, or Bots better. All of those typically have higher damage than beasts and are probably sturdier (for you) since they don't live in melee. ElecAff is a pretty solid set and good combined with the three sets I mentioned. Time is also quite strong if you want a set that's not quite as busy. Honestly, you can pair Demons, Thugs, or Bots with almost any secondary that you want. The standouts are likely: Time, Dark, ElecAff, Storm, and maybe Cold or Thermal.

Another MM command: Attack my present target

Fair enough. More options for things is usually better, and you're right, in this case it would make more sense to have this suggestion be a separate option. -
Another MM command: Attack my present target
TygerDarkstorm replied to MsSmart's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
As someone who uses the Attack My Target command a lot, I could totally get on board with it staying "toggled on" so to speak and my pets are consistently attacking whichever target I have. Would be a really nice QoL for beasts too since they're more of a single target set, though potentially problematic with tab targeting, but I would learn to adjust. -
Beasts are actually pretty durable for MM pets, especially since they are melee. They're one of the few pet powersets that work really well with /kin on MM's. I have a feeling from your posts that perhaps English is a second language for you, but we're really kind of lacking information in what you're asking. ElecAff is a fairly offensive secondary; I have not yet tried it with beasts (but now I think I might), but it should be holding up fine. You should be healing them, keeping them in your bubble, boosting their damage, and even giving them absorb shields if you're high enough level for it. The rez can even be used somewhat offensively like the rez in /dark. And you should be throwing in at least one MM primary attack to help build stacks of pack mentality. If you're still taking a lot of damage, then you should be popping fortify pack. Without more information, it's a bit difficult to figure out how we can help you. Though now I may go try this combo myself to see what I can get out of it. I can see it being a bit late-blooming, but that applies to most sets.

Today was a fun learning experience. 🙂 I'll be there next week on Fire's Embrace, a Fiery Aura/Savage Melee Tanker
-
Oh it's no big deal! 🙂 Today's abrupt start caught me off guard too!

Teehee, @Midnyte you have Black Ice Rez's bio up with my character. 😅 Tried to get a few pics myself of all of our wonderful chaos. I've only ever tried LGTF once, and the group I was in couldn't get past Hami, so I had never completed it until today. 😄

Blue blockers: any recommendations?
TygerDarkstorm replied to Techwright's topic in General Discussion
I have to wear prescription lenses, so my view is a bit different (haha), but I rather like all my glasses I've gotten from here: https://www.eyebuydirect.com/ I have the transitions lenses which come with built-in bluelight protection, and are always at some variation of tint, which I have found I really enjoy. I have sensitive eyes and I have noticed my eye strain as a whole has gone down since using these lenses. Also, most tech these days has blue-light filtering abilities on it which will turn the screens more of a reddish shade to help combat eye strain. -
So how tall do you guys make your characters?
TygerDarkstorm replied to Beef Ninja's topic in General Discussion
Um, I guess it depends on how realistic you're trying to go with it? Many of my characters get set to under the 5ft mark because I have found that I personally prefer the vantage provided from the shorter viewpoint. I feel like I get more screen real estate when I zoom out on my tiny toons. But some I go by "realistic" standards--many of my humans stay around the 5'5" mark, some of my other characters go over the 6ft mark (like, all my Saber Force toons are a minimum of 6ft). I think I only have one or two characters that have hit around the 7ft mark. -
Rad Blast has toggles to worry about?

I like the idea behind this pairing. Would Poison/Rad also be a decent pairing being able to also get the achilles procs?

Meet EnvironmentaBot, a Bots/Nature MM who was designed and programmed (along with her henchmen) to try and help combat the evils of global warming. Wherever these robots go, plants spring forth around them. Her creators wanted her to have a humanesque appearance and friendly AI--her AI was also designed to require little oversight as she and her crew traveled the world trying to help restore natural habitats, forests, ecosystems, etc. She has since stumbled into Paragon City, finding herself having to suddenly avoid villains who want to capture her and steal her technology, as well as having her AI advance as she learned from her environment to expand her healing capabilities to assist the heroes of Paragon. -
@TrixieKixx I hope to be there next week on EnvironmentaBots, a Bots/Nature MM
