  1. The little zone event in St. Martial where you raid the casino and then beat up longbow can put you into a multiple singularity situation.
  2. I painted with too broad of a brush when i said the devs wouldnt change things for motion sickness. If it affects alot of people or a change is coming anyway im sure they will be happy to address the issue. But in my wifes case, change how the entire game moves with the camera or make it 2-D arent realistic options. Im not at home to look up the command but if someone hasnt posted it by the time i get home, ill find it and post it.
  3. I think galaxy city should remain destroyed and become another co-op zone as others have mentioned. My personal take would be a lvl 50 zone and the shivans/neo shivans would be from lvl 50 to lvl 54+2. The missions would be themed around regaining control of the area and pushing the shivans back. I would incorporate the sirens call hotspot battles and recluses victory segmented zone control but in a co-op pve player versus shivan format. Holding more of the zone gives buffs in the missions and the....dun, dun, dunnnnnn.....itrial! A new itrial where you finally get to give the giant shivan the beatdown it deserves. Enemies here may be 54+4 or potentially even more powerful. Bring in all the giant shivan's buddies, give them some new powers, drop some new loot. Maybe a new IO set or the next upgrade after d-sync. Make sure you hold a large portion of the zone before you attempt to take down the giant shivan though or you may find the battle is too difficult. Of course with great difficulty comes great rewards and some players may wish to challenge the giant shivan at its full strength. Never fear if the zone is already under control when you want to attempt a hardmode run, the challenge settings will let you choose to run the trial as if less of the zone is controlled.
  4. There is an option for suppress fx when close and a slash command that lets you choose the suppression distance. I dont think the devs will change the animation to help with motion sickness. They did change a power that was causing headaches, i think it was in a sonic power. Unfortunately, motion sickness needs to be handled by the individual. Shorter play sessions, ask teammates to not use certain powers, take a motion sickness pill, team with players that dont have those powers, drink a ginger ale, use a smaller screen, zoom out the camera. My wife can play for 20 minutes and then she is nearing motion sickness no matter what powers are being used. After 30 minutes she is down for 2 hours, 40 minutes and she is down for the rest of the day. I cant expect the devs to remake the game because it makes her sick but perhaps the suppress close fx can help your friends.
  5. Time to transfer to Torch.
  6. I liked pvp on world of warcraft but i never liked it on city of heroes. My guess is that the majority of powers in warcraft were unchanged. It felt like pvp was balanced first and then pve was built to work properly with it. In city of heroes pve was built first and then pvp was inserted. But you already had invincible tanks and controllers with holds that lasted a minute and an entire list of things that were horribly imbalanced for pvp. I remember taking my controller into the arena and not be able to do anything. I was left wondering why i could dominate pve and not even land an attack in pvp. Turned out pvp was nothing like pve and multiple builds werent a thing back then. I didnt go back because i didnt need to get stomped by people that were built for pvp. I have found some pvp that was enjoyable though in city of heroes. A bunch of us made level 2 blasters and had at each other in a capture the flag style battle. We were all essentially equal since we only had 3 powers and almost no enhancement slots and no set enhancements. Teamwork won the battle instead of 1 persons pvp build. My guess is if there were more pvp options that put players on equal footing such as enhancements have no effect or SOs only that more people would have joined those match types. Also if there were rewards that were either exclusive to pvp or much easier to obtain through pvp while still possible but more difficult to obtain in pve could have brought more players over. The pvp ship has already sailed though and it would take something major to convince the pve crowd to give it another try. I do have some thoughts on new battle types for the arena that pve players could enjoy but thats best in the suggestion forum after i flesh out the idea a bit more.
  7. While i have wanted to put range enhancements into translocation, that would allow it to be as good or better than teleport after you consider that you also get mystic flight. The devs did buff translocation from 300 to 350 feet not too long ago and it made the translocation slightly faster then mystic flight instead of slightly slower when fly speed is unenhanced. And while your suggestion does require heavy investment into sorcery in order to get that benefit, i dont think there should be any situation where these multi travel powers should be better than their singular equivalents.
  8. The hallways are all opened up in the Aeon Strike Force. They are blown to bits also with holes in the walls and rubble everywhere but they are open. According to that mission, they are all connected underground. It would be great if they were all connected but i would still be happy if just the short hallway between each pair of portals was opened.
  9. They already lowered the minion cooldown to almost nothing. At that point i consider resummoning to be a rez. They lose their upgrades when they die anyway and rezzing them where they died will probably get them killed again. I guess they will be protected from xp debt though.....
  10. That screenshot is the tanker version in ice melee, is the blaster version in ice manipulation the same? City of Data shows 10 seconds for the DoT duration on blasters.

    Whip

If all the powers use the same 3 animations. Build up and taunt could cover 2 but that leaves 4 more powers to animate. And the whip isnt a rope that swings around as a physics object, the whole thing is an animation and probably not an easy one. I would love to have the whip set as a stand alone but im thinking its not likely due to the amount of new animations that would be required.
  12. Stalkers need some axes and have the names of the powers switched around. Beheader shouldnt be the name of the tier 1 attack. Keep the powers in the same order but move only their names: 1. Chop 2. Gash 3. Swoop 4. Build Up 5. Pendulum 6. Taunt/Confront 7. Whirling Axe 8. Beheader 9. Cleave Stalkers would have (current power names in parenthesis): 1. Chop (beheader) 2. Gash (chop) 3. Swoop (gash) 4. Assassin's Guillotine 5. Build up 6. Placate 7. Pendulum (swoop) 8. Beheader (cleave) 9. Cleave (pendulum) Sorry, stalkers lose whirling axe just like almost every other stalker set loses its AoE. No good reason here to make an exception.
  13. Its under 'does not stack with itself' or something similarly named. That would mean it couldnt be double stacked though and that would incur the wrath of many forum goers.
  14. Im not sure about the current state of development of City of Titans but it was started in response to City of heroes being shut down. I havent checked in awhile but i think it hasnt had an official release yet. I assume City of Titans is meant to have a similar feel and it would be very new once its released but they were very far behind schedule when i last checked a few months ago.
  15. hehe, that one person is me and i try to limit myself to times that the team is already together
  16. Having incan as a teleport pool power would certainly water incan down as an incarnate power since i only know of 1 person that uses it for its secondary effects. Which means as a pool power the recharge should be longer than 2 minutes (incan) and shorter than 30 minutes(prestige assemble the team). However, even if recharge were enhanced, it should still take longer than incan's 2 minute recharge. That pretty much puts us in the 10 to 15 minute recharge range so that incan stays better than a pool power. But there are already plenty of ways to move a team around. And while team teleport is generally redundant with the mass of teleport options, at least it isnt a 5th way of teleporting someone to you (incan, recall friend, assemble the team, and the radio/paper temp ATT but that does expire eventually). The teleport pool has 4 solid powers and 1 meh power which is better than many of the other pool sets that have 2 or even 3 meh powers. And while i wouldnt mind seeing team teleport changing into something else thats more usable, another recall friend variant isnt my choice.
  17. I sometimes make a team specifically to trigger an invasion. Advertise in chat that you are doing the TF to trigger an invasion and you already have 8 people ready for the invasion when you trigger it. Advertise a few times during the TF that an invasion is coming soon and there will probably be several more people ready to join a league when it starts.
  18. Some groups will use discord but not the server as a whole. Since the vast majority of the game is easy enough for a pick up group to complete, not many people feel discord is necessary. Ive went in a discord voice chat a few times for city of heroes but it wasnt to coordinate the team. It was just to joke around while we were running stuff.
  19. I dont mind having incomplete contacts in my inactive tab, thats one of the reasons its there. But if the devs want to add this, thats fine too. There could be unintended side effects though by dismissing normal contacts that wasnt a problem when dismissing detectives.
  20. I got mine off Amazon for about $80. Amazon link They are about $100 on the manufacturer website. Marseille link Those are links to the product. Im not affiliated with either company but ive used the mClassic and it works pretty good for me. The marseille link has a chart showing the supported inputs and the upscaled output. Even without upscaled output, it still smooths the jagged edges and improves texture quality.
  21. I have an upscaling device for my old video game systems called mClassic. It plugs into the HDMI output of your device and then the HDMI cable plugs into it. It handles some aliasing and texture sharpening. There is a more noticeable improvement on 480p inputs since it can be upscaled to 720p fairly easily and 1k, 2k, or even 4k if you run some specific settings. Playing Nintendo 64 games in 720p is pretty nice. I plugged it into my computer and it worked with city of heroes at 1920x1080 with 0xAA. Ill need to move the device over 1 more time and figure out what equivalent AA its giving but my guess is probably 4xAA. And that is with no impact on frame rate since the mClassic takes the incoming signal and then improves it. City of heroes could even be set to 720p and you would get the resulting increase in frame rate and then get upscaled back to 1080 with the increased frame rate preserved. It doesnt work with non standard resolutions though and people running a high resolution with ultra settings probably wont see much benefit. But it is pretty good as a hardware option to improve the look without impacting frame rate.
  22. I thought about animations a bit and there is a fair amount of potentially usable visuals outside of storm summoning. Gravity control has propel that would probably look amazing with a smaller gale effect to push the object. A slightly tweaked singularity could become the summon vortex. Many gravity effects already are very 'airy' looking and with a color and sound change would make convincing wind. Kinetics as well since it looks very similar to gravity. Use siphon power animation but reverse the animation to come from the player and hit the target and you now have shot someone with wind. Use speed boost animation for a shot and the windy part of frost shield (without the ice armor) for the hit. And resized effects from within storm summoning could do quite a bit as well. A miniature version of tornado or lightning storm could be what you shoot. Steamy mist or hurricane with a radius just larger than the enemy could animate the holds and immobilizes. And while it isnt ideal to recycle animations in order to create a new powerset, if animations are the only thing holding the set back and there are no plans to create new animations then i think the players would prefer repurposed animations over not having wind control at all. With alternate animations, 'new and finished' animations could always be added at a later time if the team were so inclined.
  23. Carp melee !!! Here we have some leaked footage from the beta test server of the dual carp and titan carp melee powersets.
