I was attempting to say mind control controllers werent really comparable to mind control dominators with my post but words messed it up. Not that vet levels made it good but someone with that many vet levels probably figured out a top performing build. A controller may be able to solo everything too but i can guarantee that it will be alot slower than a dominator. Makes it difficult to buff mind control for controllers and leave it alone for dominators.

I posted this in another thread recently but it makes sense here too so i'll throw my idea out. First is to give sentinels access to assault (dominator secondary) for its mix of melee and ranged attacks. They already have blast so its too late to take that away. Sentinels could choose either blast or assault for their primary. Second is to add to their inherent that you do additional damage to enemies that are closer then 20 feet away. This would give the armor secondary more purpose while rewarding the extra risk of going into melee range. This bonus damage might need to be low at all times and boosted during opportunity or only during opportunity with a larger buff or longer duration. -
We have a mind control/psionic assault on torchbearer that has 5k or 6k vet levels and solo'd pretty much everything on max difficulty so that makes me feel that mind control doesnt need anything. But for controllers, without a damage dealing secondary, i can see that some would consider the set as underperforming. I sleep 1 guy, then hold a guy, then confuse another and kill the last - on my dominator. On a controller that same combo leaves the controlled enemies alone and loses out on most of the containment damage.

I take mesmerize and skip levitate because mesmerize is amazing and levitate sucks so ill have to disagree there. Mass confusion should have its recharge lowered but remain at T9 and seeds of confusion should have a higher recharge or less magnitude/duration then mass confusion since seeds is T5.

Just my opinion, i think the devs undertuned the sentinel on purpose to avoid them becoming the best AT in the game. They ended up being so cautious that they made it possibly the weakest instead. If they had assault primaries added (dominator secondary) i think it would really open up their possibilities. With a tweak to opportunity, keep its current effects and add that your attacks do more damage to enemies that are closer than 20 feet away. That gives their armor a purpose while rewarding the extra risk of being in melee range.

Looks like a well thought out and presented proposal but i wouldnt change it to a +def +res set. We have some heavy healing sets with empathy and pain. We have heal/debuff with dark and radiation. We have defense and resist with thermal and cold. Maybe sonic too, i never used it, it might be just resist. So we have defense bubbles with resist already but they are fire or ice. Giving it that defense debuff resistance along with absorb with some of your proposed changes would go a long way in making the set unique and useful. Basically i like the changes that make it different and not the ones that make it the same as other sets. -

Im certainly not against a balance pass but i would expect more buffs then nerfs for mobs to come from it. And back in the day i think more skulls mobs had shadow maul. Perhaps my go-to City of Heroes historian @Apparition may be willing to weigh in if im remembering wrong or did minions and Lts used to have shadow maul. -

Is the vanguard jetpack costume option an actual jetpack anywhere? Probably slap that in the vanguard merit vendor. And for those that want jetpacks available sooner in RWZ i say join vanguard if you want vanguard to offer you a jetpack. And nobody had to refresh their 2x experience. They chose to leave the zone at the risk of losing their spot. Experience booster isnt required to raid the ship. -

Nerf Assailants/Strikers at the low levels

I miss shadow maul on the skulls. Maybe a few individual mobs are overtuned but since SOs were made available at level 2 its making it difficult for me to support most of the nerf low level mob requests. I only have trouble when i get attuned enhancements really early since their values are so low or when i dont slot enhancements at all. -

Being on different teams in the same league can cause a huge difference if the teams arent doing about the same damage as each other. A few thousand xp difference from each mob can add up over the course of a trial. -

The new category running, along with the others that exclude sprints were introduced so they could add more powerful travel sets that require being slotted in an actual travel power and not straight into sprint.

Now i understand why someone would buy a lvl 53 cytoskeleton for 600 million. They are more powerful and i am more richer.

I try to not sound cold and i do get your example and that nothing was aimed at me. But for me when a NPC says something, its to my character, not me. They throw out all the insults and degrading comments (pretty much not this game) and i dont get personally offended because they arent real. A player behind a keyboard does the same thing and thats totally different. There are others who feel differently or we wouldnt be having this conversation. And then i try to not sound uncaring when i say we shouldnt make changes because a few were offended over the 15 years of city of villians. We could probably find someone that is offended by almost anything. A player may have had a crime against a family member or themself and a mission reminds them of it. I feel it would be detrimental to the game if a change were made each time an individual were offended.

The game was rated teen during its retail run. Taken from the ESRB website the 'Teen' rating "May contain violence, suggestive themes, crude humor, minimal blood, simulated gambling and/or infrequent use of strong language" Im gonna have to be a no on this one. Even though we are on private servers and the ESRB doesnt have a current rating on the game, the content and dialogue still falls well within the teen rating in my opinion. The login screen still has the teen rating with suggestive themes/violence. We know what we ate getting every time we log in. Edit: i should clarify before this goes sideways since we are on fragile ground. Im a no on changing the contacts dialogue. The suggestion of tossing a disclaimer to the start is fine with me. Let the players know what they are about to get and make their own decision to proceed or avoid.

Maybe suppress fx when close. That might just be the visuals though. Ive never used it, only the camera shake one.

I guess if there is a need for it and its actually solving something. If we could though, add vendor options to him. Sometimes my recipies or enhancements fill up mid mission and i like to clear out some space. -
Can you build around pool powers as main attacks?

The best pool powers are about as good as most ATs tier 2 attack if you arent using procs. I dont depend on pool power attacks but a few character builds use them instead of the T 1-2 attacks in their rotation. I have considered making a all pool power character but the project remains un-started.
