Good to see you on the forums FUB! I’ve always loved your insight on posts. What makes Stone stick out to you on a Scrap? And specific primaries you’d pair with it? I have one scrapper to 50, a DM/Shield. Wondering if Stone would be worth running, or if I should just got all offense with a /Bio scrapper haha

Let me know how that Dark/Stone goes for you Bill. I’ve been interested in the combo myself, torn between running it on a Scrapper or Tanker.

One of my mains, Storm Aegis, is Shield/Elec. Shield Defense has nice Elemental options for their shields, so I just went with the Electrical one. You can definitely make a lot of sets fit with your theme!

Appreciate this write up! I’ve been interested in EA as a set, since it is newer and I never had the chance to play it on live, and I don’t see TOO many of them walking around. Seems like it’s fun to level and a great pairing with revamped Elec Blast.

I actually dig that animation with my Shield/Rad Tanker. It looks like you’re just up smashing them with the Shield 😂

All of these are great. I actually like your call out of Time/Rad, since I feel there is some good synergy there with the PBAOE’s. How do you like it overall? I assume since you can hit your defense soft caps fairly easily with Time, you can afford to proc out Rad Blast a bit more.

Very true! Love EM on my stalker and feel it really shines there, but it seems to shine well everywhere 😂 I was just looking for reasons to run something else on a Scrapper, other than concept. Claws I feel was probably the next closest set to really shine on a Scrap.

Almost hard to see a situation where you wouldn’t pick EM. At least, that is how I feel on my EM/EA Stalker. I guess Claws adds some extra mitigation with it’s KD’s, so that is a plus that is hard to quantify.

When you say “both are left behind by Energy Melee”, you’re speaking in regards to ST damage compared to AOE, correct Sov?

Seems like if you want to be king of taking down one single target, EM/Bio is the way to go. Want to be more well rounded and have some AOE, go Claws/Bio. Sound about right?

I totally forgot about Storm as an option. Could be fun. Rad/Dark seems like it would be a very strong pairing.

Would also throw @Darkir’s Water/Cold Corruptor out there. A pretty safe build that excels at bringing down tough targets.

Hi all! I’ve been a long time Defender sub lurker, but have yet to roll the dice on one. I’m looking for a hero to slow level and really learn the ins and outs of their powerset. Being primarily a Tanker/Scrapper/Brute player, I felt a Defender would be the perfect archetype for me to do that! A bit of blasting mixed with support seems like it will create a very fluid playstyle. Several combos have shot out to me. Elec/Elec seems cool, since Elect Affinity is a newer powerset. Dark/something, since Dark seems to be a really good jack of all trades. Time/DP, just for the cool factor 😂 That being said, I’m very open! What are some powerful Defender combos you have enjoyed playing/love having on your team?

I'm looking to make my first hover Blaster. Fire/Temporal sticks out as a combo that would work very well. Anyone have a sample build/experience with this combo?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Ill/Cold is one of the premiere AV soloing power combos.

How do you feel Stone Armor is stacking up next to your Shield/Invuln/SR builds for Tankers? Think it can hang with them?

+1 to what Werner said. It's good as a one slot wonder, just dropping one unique enhancement in there and using it as an "Oh crap" button haha. Although you won't find too many of those moments when fully built out with Shield.

Shield is just.... so robust. I love it haha. My Shield/Elec and Shield/Rad are 2 of my favorite tankers.

Thanks for all the info Linea. I have an EM/EnA Stalker myself, and it's one of my strongest heroes. EM/Bio seems like it'd hit like a truck as well.

I love your Dark/Shield build Sai. I’ve been wondering how Dark/Stone would work. Part of me thinks that combo might really shine on a Tanker.
