  1. Thanks. I did understand the nuance of the aggro changes, I just said remove the aggro cap for shorthand. I did read the notes, so I can follow what they actually did. I still just don't know why though. The other two answers make good sense.
  2. Hey ya'all. So I bounced out for a while about a year ago. Just wanted to spend some time in other games and have more time for some other projects. But you know the itch for this game never really goes away and I saw the new patch notes in the discord and so I'm back. Anyway, I'm super excited for the new stuff that has come out while I was away and just to try some different characters and jump back on some of my old ones. Very pumped for that. But I feel like I missed a beat somewhere, and I can't really track it down. So the changes seem very cool or at least interesting. Or at the least I will reserve judgement until I actually play with them. What I can't seem to get on the same page with is the reasoning behind any of them. Well, I mean, obviously I can figure out why you make new missions and content. Super excited by that. No notes. But why remove the aggro cap? Why burn down the AE buildings in the starting zones? Why overhaul certain defense and resistances? I am neither for or against these things, I just can't seem to follow the line of thought. And hey listen if any of these changes are something you hate or want to just complain about or have an axe to grind on or whatever, that's not really my jam here. I'm not passing any judgement on something I haven't even played yet. I just want to understand what I missed that made all this stuff seem like a worthwhile investment of volunteer time. If anyone would care to fill me in or discuss it with me, I'd be super grateful. Thanks for humoring a dude who put himself out of the loop for a long time and is confused now.
  3. But the actually summoned conscripts and portals give nothing.
  4. I could be mistaken, there have been many patches and I am an old and foggy brained man. But I believe the Comm officers gives quite a bit more than LT experience. I think they are like 6x minion xp, since they can summon that many minions. I recall people used to farm them, when xp farming was even like a thing that was hard to do.
  5. Stick it stick it stickitstickitstickit I think this thread should be stickied.
  6. My anecdotal experience doesn't sync with this position. If I am teamed with a trapper, they usually have it.
  7. I ran through these on my main Psi Melee/Rad Armor Brute. I didn't find them especially difficult. I can see how they might be because they are very different from the rest of the content. I will also 10,000% agree with the bs about the fricking spells standing on top of each other (especially because I had very little AoE in my build at that time). That is frustrating. But more irritating than difficult.
  8. Surprised I'll be the first to mention this. Granite Armor. Cool I level all the way up so I can look just like any rando DE mob. And move at half the speed of smell.
  9. This does take me back to when the game was live, learning on my first main, Dark/Rad Corruptor. I always opened with Moonbeam and it was the worst against Freakshow, because SNIPE>HEAL> ME YARGLESCREAMING AS THEY LIFT OUT OF SCOURGE RANGE hahahaha.
  10. I love when old threads like this get necroed because it lets me learn things that I missed while I was away.
  11. Shenanigunner is not wrong, and thumbs downing his posts wont change that. The Wiki is much better than nothing at all, but it will also give you bad information in many places that you might look.
  12. You guys really wanted to fight about this so much you started a fight in the game and came to the forum to finish it. Not an example of either of you being your best self. You both sound like good team mates to me. If you worked as hard at understanding as you did at showing off for the big ego battle, you'd both be having more fun and feel better.
  13. They exist redside but they aren't as common.
  14. Today I learned the limits of the forums profanity filter through context clues.
  15. I just discovered this for the first time myself.
  16. I actually have run across a few brand new players in recent days.
  17. Thanks for that. That is a helpful workaround too.
  18. This forum is for suggestions. I was providing feedback on a suggestion. If you see the suggestion forum as a list of demands or complaints that sounds like a you thing, not a me thing. I have my own issues to work on, don't pile yours on as well. While I am at it, don't tell me what my issues are like, unless you're wired into my optic nerve you have no idea, so just keep all that under your hat. You used words like "lazy" "kant be arsed" "excuse" "handicapping" myself, super judgey condescending stuff like that. Not to mention your reducto ad absurdem car analogy. You are judgier than Judy and I am telling you to stop.
  19. I don't really want it to be even a couple of sentences long. Just like maybe 50-60 characters would be plenty. You don't have to be hostile to suggestions just because you personally know a work around. And not that it's any concern of yours but I am dyslexic, and entering in a chain of text that long in a field I cannot easily double check for errors is time consuming and frustrating for me. So yes this could be more user friendly. Thank you for the information, I will try to adapt as well as I can, but kindly shove off the presumption and entire judgey attitude.
  20. I do appreciate the knowledge bump though. I'm pretty close to totally ignorant on how to do binds, so that actually was helpful. But aside from helping me personally, I think it's worth mentioning that there is no in game tutorial on binds and that character limit is a little low.
