  1. Potentially possible predicament.
  2. I have to recommend trying Thugs/Kin. There's nothing quite like popping Gang War + Burn Out + Gang War + SB + FS, perhaps with a Transfusion and Barrier in there to make sure the lil punks survive. Life becomes a sea of drugged up fast moving homies steamrolling everything in their path. Thematically, you're a Drug Lord, giving your minions all the "good stuff" and not caring about whether they live or die, there are always more willing to take their place.
  3. That mission(and any mission where the next mission is at the exact same door) always reminds me of the scene from Life of Brian where the Legion packs into the small house to search for Brian, find nothing, and then come right back again only the 2nd time find a wooden spoon. Then they knock on the door a 3rd time and the old man says, "You haven't given us time to hide yet!".
  4. Calling people foolish morons does not rise to the level of discussion or even argument, it's just plain ad hominem.
  5. Back in 2019 I was reminded of the common name of the first two Praetorian TFs when players do them back to back, didn't take long before my newest alt was born! He's a Gravity/Time Controller who was once just a normal Ape, wandering in the jungles searching for bananas until curiosity led him into a strange cave, where he found Oranbega... Unable to find his way out he stumbled upon a strange set of magical items, a Cloak, Belt, and Boots, which he put on. Donning these items changed his life, he met a ghost who led him to a magical tome(and then taught him to read), and soon regular Ape became ApeMage!
  6. Someone figures out a clever way of becoming OverPowered in a game... soon everybody knows about it, makes the same build, and then acts like they personally discovered it through detailed and complicated calculations with near Herculean effort whenever the devs find it to be an outlier in need of balancing and fix it. Hundreds or thousands of players have a good cry, type their fingers to the bone begging for things to not change, and in the end ragequit. Seen it so many times that my violin strings popped playing sad music to soothe them all...
  7. Is it wrong that I first read the title as "Bananable ERP"?
  8. Exactly! I think "the Coming Storm" was actually the "Korean Business Model", that being: 1. Intercourse your loyal customer base. 2. Tell them to just accept it, to "not dwell on the how or why". 3. Remind them that they've just released a shiny new game that they'd like you to play! 4. There is no #4. 5. Refer to #1.
  9. I thought the Highlander series was better than the movie, although the movie was a great stand-alone movie for what it was. If there can be only one, may it be Duncan MacLeod, for he was just a better person than Connor. Don't ever, ever watch Highlander 2 unless you're planning to riff on it MST3K-style. Probably not even then. I still mean to watch the 12 Monkeys TV show, but that movie still blows me away. Bruce Willis reacting to Fats Domino's "Blueberry Hill" always brings a tear to my eye. Seems like I catch something new every time I watch it. Gotta love Terry Gilliam.
  10. My favorite movies of all time: 1. True Romance 2. The Empire Strikes Back 3. Star Wars 4. Raiders of the Lost Ark 5. Ghostbusters 6. Time Bandits 7. Heavy Metal 8. Big Trouble in Little China 9. Snatch 10. The Fellowship of the Ring 11. Fight Club 12. Trading Places 13. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly 14. 2001: A Space Odyssey 15. Monty Python's Life of Brian 16 Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan 17. The Outlaw Josey Wales 18. Escape From New York 19. Highlander 20. Twelve Monkeys There are far too many great movies to fit in such a small list, as such my list is incomplete and I'm sure I missed some greats that belong in my top 20 but which don't come to mind at the moment. I seriously considered just listing all of the MCU movies, but those are in a class all to themselves...
  11. GW2 is just plain terrible. Also, DEATH TO NCSOFT!
  12. The absolute opposite of a team player would be a petless mastermind, perhaps a Merc/FF with 6-slotted brawl, Whirlwind(always on), every KB power available(especially AoE's), PFF only, Detention Field(spammed)... Yeah. That would be godawful to have to team with.
  13. We agree! I agree with you, Confuse is quite a bit better than just having a pet or pets. What I was suggesting had little to do with making Mind Control more powerful or even better. I was suggesting giving the powerset a truly unique power. Maybe it could affect a single boss, and/or 2 Lt's, amd/or 3 minions, which would be "permanently" confused, even allowing them to exit instances with you. Something akin to what the Purple Man did to Jessica Jones(minus the rapey bit). I think it would be fun to mentally enslave ANY enemy up to Boss level and keep them around for a while. As I said though, the coding to enable such a power is doubtless more than anyone is willing to do, so it will likely remain just my dream.
  14. Here's a fun idea I take from the old days of playing AD&D 1st edition: Instead of that ever present 5% chance being a miss, make it a fumble! Then it could have a number of random effects. Maybe you accidentally hit your teammate(s) or pet(s)! Maybe you whiffed so hard that you knocked yourself down(bypassing any KB protection)? Maybe in the midst of chaotic battle, you temporarily became Confused? And of course, the chance that you simply missed(because it's tradition). There could be any number of interesting effects!
  15. Um you do realize that Mass Confusion does not turn them into a pet eh? Just like regular Confuse, Mass Confusion does not turn them into literal "pets", which is what I was suggesting so...
  16. As it is literally "Mind Control", I've always thought that the t9 should allow the user to turn any mob(up to boss level) into their pet until either its defeat, release, or until used again on another mob(at which point the previously controlled pet would become an enemy once again). I know, I know, this would require a ton of coding and whatnot, but I can dream...
  17. Some people think cucumbers taste better pickled.
  18. My AR/MM hoverblaster is lots of fun to play, and was relatively cheap to build(4 Thunderstrike sets and 4 Artillery sets don't cost very much and help to soft-cap ranged damage). Sure lethal is resisted, but for cones/taoe you'll also do fire, psi, and smashing damage, so it's not all lethal. Drain Psyche isn't very useful as you want to stay away from close range, but very few mobs actually fly up to you so it's pretty durable. The hardest part about using cones is the AI and tab-targeting. It seems like the devs worked very hard to be sure that whatever you tab-target will be in the worst possible place for cone attacks, and the mobs seem to have a danger sense when you're about to press a cone attack and they suddenly run to a position where the least number of targets will be hit. Other than that if you can target the group's center then you'll lay waste to them.
  19. Everybody knows that wearing masks is just a Nemesis plot, that hospital teleporter technology kills puppies, and that Magic is totes not real, yo.
  20. As humans our memories tend to be faulty, we often misremember things and simply the act of remembering can alter our memories. This is the reason why the so-called "Mandela Effect" is so ridiculous. Have you ever played Lord of the Rings Online? In both pve and pvmp many teams used markers like you're describing to designate tank, healer, etc. My tribe leader in LOTRO pvmp liked using it to target enemy healers rather than players in our group. I've played CoH since launch and don't have any memory of this in the game, but as my opening statement says, I could be misremembering or could simply have forgotten about "that one time"...
