  1. Yes, as well as the Signature Summons, and the Prestige Buff Pets. And those Powers aren't as mediocre as they might seem on paper, particularly at lower levels. So what if we got some things that are on par with the Pool Powers, but were much more thematic and ranged through a tiered system? Similar to how those Recipes used to be random drops in game, but instead we were to redesign them to be much more accessible, with highs and lows spanning a character career. The usual complaints about "Power Creep" and "the game is easy enough" . . . but quick follow-up? If the game's too easy for you already, you don't need to use these. If you're afraid that they'll make the game too easy for other players . . . wut? But even still; I've got to noodle the ideas around some more yet, as they're in their earliest forms right now. I'm considering them to be a bit of a balancing element compared to late-game Incarnate stuff. Essentially giving players the opportunity to dedicate growth on their character outward, rather than upward (there's that catchphrase again). As the player reached the 40s, 50, and Incarnate territory, the effectiveness of this branched content would peter out and diminish relative to the higher metric of Incarnate. The short version: New player Power content to incentivise low level play, and to help flesh out character concepts in to more realized forms for player enjoyment.
  2. I think a lot of these new Pool ideas can be tackled with a different method; one which has been bounced around a lot over the past year but not yet fleshed out. Different names have been tacked on to the projects, but the premise is "side game content." Outward progression, rather than upward; content which allows players to essentially "craft" things like Pistols or Hired Help. Similar to the P2W Vendor Temp and Prestige Powers, but built from the ground up to be accessible at all levels. More on this idea . . . after clearing my plate of the other three projects that I'm juggling, heh.
  3. In-game rewards are incentives. When the amount of incentive we're used to is suddenly cut in half, it has a negative influence on our perception of the worth of our activities. I can't speak for everyone, but for me the issue is that it felt like a very clear indicator that my particular playstyle isn't even on the Devs' radar. For the record, I'm not a farmer. I agree that the player market has/had problems, and the reduction of Influence addressed the particular problems the Devs were targeting. But it also extended in to reducing rewards at all levels of play for those players who were decidedly -not- racing to 50 and wh (for whatever reasons) are not market gurus.
  4. Nah; totally grudge-worthy. That's what makes it a grudge!
  5. There is, perhaps, a bit of language barrier at play. "Make," "earn," "get," . . . et cetera. Let's try: "Spontaneously generates" and "trades." A farmer spontaneously generates Inf. It comes in to existence from nothing but the effort of the farmer. A marketeer trades it. And in the process of trading it, destroy 10% of it. Yes, marketeers will end up with more Inf, to the point where the game _FAR_ favours marketeers to any other type of player in terms of providing incentive for play through in-game "loot" and currency. That is a fundamental issue, and I think the one you want addressed, @Captain Yesterday. And if so, then I think you're very much in the right for wanting that to be addressed. The Devs, however, decided that they wanted to focus attention on the player market before addressing the dearth of rewards at lower levels of play (which is something they've stated they wish to address, eventually). What -I- would like to know is why the removal of an existing game feature was being lumped in with the closure of an exploit, and not being addressed as a separate matter. Bad optics on that, even if the end goal was ultimately the same.
  6. . . . what -kind- of friendship? *shifty eyes*
  7. I hear that, and I don't even have an entry for Inf in my spreadsheets. The value changes too frequently to really be worth my pain to record constantly. I basically keep the majority of the Inf on my mains, and keep at least one character on the primary and secondary accounts with the biggest nest eggs, so I can multi-box the Inf around in a hurry should there be a shortage somewhere.
  8. I will never look at @GM Tahquitz the same again . . .
  9. Guessing that 'vik' here means: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/2850-cannot-log-in-to-the-game/?tab=comments#comment-24281
  10. Fairly sure I recall that being expressly stated with Barcley in Voyager. That he had exceeded his monthly allotments for several months running.
  11. Two ways! Spend 1 hour in Pocket D online to get it for free. or Spend 1,000,000 Inf at the P2W Vendor, under the Prestige Power category for Teleport Travel Powers. Additionally, since Group Bases now have the option to be publicly accessible with Passcodes, you could ask on your Shard which public Bases have Pocket D telepads. Then you can also reach Pocket D from any zone with the appropriate means of entering a Base.
  12. Yeah, I stopped using Steam when I learnt about just how shady they are. Do like GOG and use them frequently, but even they have their faults. But still, being able to download my games and keep them on whatever computers I want, without having to maintain a connection to the internet is a huge perk. . . . of course, I've been playing most City of Villains for the past year, so . . . yeah. Gotta have that internet connection!
  13. Hmm, giving it some more thought . . . since this Wild Card Enhancement might not have any modifiers of its own, you would only be getting the Power Bonuses from the other Enhancements, and the Set Bonuses. That might actually balance this thing out pretty well.
  14. And what about Sets that only have 3, 4, or 5 pieces to them?
  15. As a Unique, I could see this being a very interesting little play-thing! I'm not opposed, but I'm sure we'll hear someone denouncing it on the grounds of "power creep."
  16. Game Manuals. 100% agreed! I miss those. Redside is Best side!
  17. You know it's serious business when a Lead GM bumps a thread. I regretfully do not have any pets right now, and the only photo I have left of my favourite is this out-of-focus file (which I think I already posted in the original 'share your pet photo' thread here). Moe. He could say his name. Found the other -two- threads! https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/11901-cats-coh/ https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/6994-off-topic-or-i-just-want-to-post-photos-of-my-cat/
  18. Depends. Do I get to have knowledge of this universe which I am now residing in from having read up on it as fiction?
  19. Whatever they do, sounds like making it optional would be the smoothest plan.
  20. Rather than the regular ammo types, I think it would be fantastic to have three NEW types: Ghost Busters - Adds minor Negative Energy Type Damage, extra Moderate-High Damage to True Undead. Lock and Shock - Adds minor Energy Type Damage, Chance for Stun, extra Moderate Damage to Robots. Anti-Incarnate Rounds - Adds minor Psionic Damage, instantly annihilates any Incarnates. Or at least give these types of ammo to my main Villain, Commandant Nongratis. It would be very on-brand for her.
  21. More like the punch-drunk Shard, from all the Boxing and blows to the head. PvP. It's a helluva drug.
  22. While it's true that they don't -need- to be limited, there does seem to be a statical bias toward backstories on the roleplay Shard, Everlasting.
  23. I did arrive about a half hour late, but when I was there, I didn't see anyone in Grandville, nor any messages other than a few from Jimmy saying "test is done," and "come to the Abyss." I understand that the half hour may have made a significant difference with scheduling. Though it just felt oddly gated. Would unlocking the zone, or running future events in naturally unlocked zones be feasible in the future?
  24. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/17619-argo-cap/?tab=comments#comment-195678 I wonder which way the GMs will sway on the subject this time.
