Increase Reward Merits for Barracuda SF
Razor Cure replied to Apparition's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I misread the thread title as 'Instant' so.. A few months after CoX came back, I did a cuda with a pug team of..well..idiots. I quit the team after exiting the last mission and got no rewards. Literally the ONLY tf in game that does that. So yeah..INSTANT reward merits after that last mission. ALso totally agree that Cuda Vs Kahn is a load of rubbish. Especially the last mission with the never ending ambushes (seriously, they MAY end, but on Live, I did a run with friends, and we spent at least an hour killing ambush after ambush) and stupid need for temp powers. Dont get me wrong, the way you borrow the patrons powers is cool and all, but compared to blue side where everyone gets the magic ray gun? Oh, did they finally change that? Yay! Today's game, very true. But back when the TF was new, I remember quite a few teams failing it (although perhaps it was lack of temp powers plus ambushes). Also, in todays game, the final blue fight is an utter joke. 4 Avs, that come online one at a time? Funny that..like STF vs RSF. -
Torchbearer here. I think I have only seen people leave mid tf twice since CoX came back. I didn't check their globals or anything, so I guess they could have switched rather than dc'd. As for explaining what a TF is to team mates before hand..sure that works, but as App says..some people get pissy about that too! Suggestions As is, a task force only gives info to the team leader, being the contact text and LFG info (which is VERY vague, other than 'challenging), so if a person does not know the TF, they really have no clue whats going on. Make every tf start with a pop up (think SBB: role explained) that goes to every member, with at least some outline of what is going on (highlighting that quitting mid tf means you cant come back and no reward) and perhaps some description of the tough bits. That description would be great for the less meh/babysteps tfs (ie: just about all the TFC ones), because there are a few that end with relatively crazy (crazy for new players) fights. I remember doing a Renault way way back when I started on CoV. We spent almost 3 hours on it, and failed. We had 2 MMs, and they were next to useless on that last fight, with the water spouts bouncing everyone all over. A fight like that, that basically renders an entire AT useless, is just a load of rubbish. Dont get me wrong, that fight IS epic, as are many of the redside SF battles. but if I was a new player on an MM, and ended up doing that..

Not to be insulting at all, but the definition of 'long-term' TFs has also changed a LOT. I remember back on Live, and just about all of em took over an hour, often close to 90 mins. Nevermind those god awful shard TFs. But now..sub 30 mins on a lot are pretty common, and its rare to do one over an hour. Obvious exceptions are Shard TF and Synapse. Others like Manti, Numi, Citadel, Ice Mistral, Renault etc are all commonly done in under an hour! As long as the team isn't super under leveled, you should be fine!

Sonic has got to be one of the only sets where 3 (Shockwave, Sleep, Screech) powers flat out do NOT use the secondary effect that set is relying on. As a comparison, Umbral Torrent from dark does kb AND -tohit. Yet Shockwave only does kb. Siren's SOng is ok...solo. In a team, mobs will get woken up asap AND the power does damage (what a stupid idea), so you get aggro anyway. That is even worse solo too, because a Boss wont go to sleep, but will be mad and attack! Maybe someone can correct me, but I think recently the Sleep +heal proc was changed to only proc ONCE per power, so Siren's cant event be used as a semi-mass heal anymore. Shockwave, Howl and Siren's Song also all suffer from the same super annoying range differences that hit Dark and AR, making positioning difficult.

Empathy: A New Vision for a Classic Powerset
Razor Cure replied to LeoTheCat's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I agree emp Res is inferior to others (RoTP, even Natures rez lets you heal someone) but..I just cant get the untouchable thing to make 'sense' for empathy. It makes total sense for RoTP..but both prestige res power are STILL better than Empathy's! Maybe if it also cast Fort/CM/Weakened adrenaline boost on the target? AT the very least CM, so they can retoggle and move. I also think rezzing doing a cut down AB would help to spread around what is (almost always) a single target buff. I like the overheal idea..especially combined with Absorb Pain. It is in the name already! -

I was just looking at Mids, and it says: Ally + res(sleep, hold, dis, confuse, immob, fear). However, the effects tab shows all those besides sleep as a -Magnitude. That make sense, since apparently the original devs could not even get descriptions right, regarding their own system! A Mez protection is -mag, and stops the target being mezzed if the total magnitude of Mez on said target does not exceed that protection value. So a squishes with a 12.9 prot to Hold (from CM) needs to get hit with FIVE mag 3 holds, before they are held. Which, in 99% of game play, will never ever happen. Even versus malta and masss stuns, or carnies as mass sleeps, it wont happen much. Mez resistance is different, as simply lowers the duration of any mez of that type on you. The +mez resist from cm (and other anti mex powers) is present in pvp due to the major changes to the mez system that happened their back on Live, where NO ONE has mez prot, just resist. I assume its still pretty much that. Giving mez resist in PvE would, as above, be pointless in nearly all situations. Sorry if you already knew teh prot/res differences! As to CM only giving Sleep resist in PvE..I am almost certain it also gives protection. If it doesnt, that is a bug (or a SUPER silly WAI). More likely the power info is borked. -

I DID do this back on Live..sometimes. But usua;lly just forgot, or found the extra button press, in an already hectic situation, (hectic, or why do the RAs need to be dropped in the first place?) just annoying. And staying with teh team..well..look at it this way Single target 'aoe' buffs (like shields) have a range of 80. And work in an aoe of that target. RAs have a radius of 25. Meaning if someone is 'only' more than 25ft from you, they miss it. Missing a buff with a 5 sec rech isnt a big deal..missing one of a loong rech kinda is. Of course, as you said..stay with the team. But that doesnt always work. lol Personally, I almost never use my RAs, because I keep everyone alive without emp. So I think it would be nice if they did something else to encourage (at least my own) use, such as the debuff resist etc. Funny, but I am the opposite. If I see an emp with more than a few attacks, I assume they are a shitty emp (they might be ok at blasting, but honestly, how hard is that?). MY own experience has shown..this to be correct in almost all cases. Of course, that is MY definition of a 'good emp.' But anyway..the powerset could use some love. -
35+ TFs. Numi/Mistral 4 Respecs (both sides) ITF Sutter/Morty Kal Kahn/Cuda RSF/STF 4 Shard TFs Sewers Woodsman Lady Grey That is a lot. Lady Grey is one tf among alll those. Right? Just to hijack the topic..How about the fact blue side has SIX more tfs, in those level ranges? And RSF requires a huge story arc to be done? Sure, side switching and everything, but still.

Empathy: A New Vision for a Classic Powerset
Razor Cure replied to LeoTheCat's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Totally can see this. Makes sense and would be unique, if situational. Already does. Unless you mean other sorta status things like debuffs. Forge does nothign but damage and to hit, and really, 25% to hit compared to 18 is REALLY similar, unless you are heavily debuffed or the team mate has no acc slotting at all. Likewise, 30% damage compared to 50 really isnt that crazy, with powers already slotted to 98%ish. Also teh regen in TS is mostly useless unless its on a tank or regen/wp melee. But in all cases, teh defence helps a lot. I kinda agree with this. Needing to cry 'gather for buffs' and wait for team mates to gather is painful, and makes it easy to miss people. On the other hand, it can be part of the situational awareness. I'd give the Auras a much bigger range, and no line of sight needed. FOUR people with +100% rech and maxxed rec/regen? Yeah..no. That is just too good. Empathy is a hard set to tweak..major changes and people will hate it, or it will break the theme. But it is such an ooold power set, and its easier to see how it can be overshadowed. Like one Kin on the team already gives everyone (unless they are slack, like most of em are) +50rech and unlimited end. All the time. Poor Recovery Aura. One Time with power boosted Farsigh gives everyone 25%ish def, all the time. Poor Fort. i LIKE YOUR idea about giving CM Psi resis, as it makes sense to me. And healing aura also doing +end would be nice. +8 might be too much though. The Aura changes are interesting too, with the debuff resist, and would help Empathy do 'more.' AN idea I just had regarding Adren and maybe Fort..have the recharge lowered by the 3 healing powers in the set, as the user 'builds' up empathy for his team mates via healing them, making the other powers available soon. That would also encourage Emps to actually EMP (can you tell I hate slack emps?) -
It doesnt end simply because we keep maknig alts and doing the same content. It isnt 'not ending' because the 50+ content keeps being added (for obvious reasons). The LGTF was written as 50 content. So why the problem keeping it that way? Honest question..IF the LG was never ever changed to 35+, would you be calling for it to become 35+? Would anyone? (of course some would). May as well argue we need 35+ Kahns, or RSF. They both make as much, that is, none at all, sense.

Put all mission objectives on the map.
Razor Cure replied to DarknessEternal's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
All true. I totally get some people dont want a fast paced team, but there is a difference (I think) between a team that simply rushes the boss/glowies and a 'fast paced' team. Also, just about every team with a good combination of skill levels and ATs can be (and usually will) be a 'fast paced' team. They will hit their groove after a mob or two and mostly steamroll along, barring ambushes or those leaders that think 'wow, you know what we need, +4 carnies!' Most objective rush missions have the OB right at the end/end room, so having it on the map would hardly make it that much easier. With Reveal, you can look at most maps and end up with a choice of 2 rooms for like 80+% of objectives locations as it is. Giving us a tool to show objectives, an optional one, is just that..more options. Those people who hate fast paced teams dont have to use it. And if they keep joining teams that rush, can start their own team. -

Don't forget the god awful Arachnos base one, with the HUGE multitiered room with teh walkways. That is just hideous, for finding things or escorting guys out. -

I didn't, really. But you did quote his bit about PvP..hence me saying 'people' bringing up PvP. Anyway, I am still wondering! -
Put all mission objectives on the map.
Razor Cure replied to DarknessEternal's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Why are people bringing up PvP? Normal Reveal already shows a pvp map, or you can just run about and unfog it all. I thought the only PvP missions with objectives are the ones in Warburg, and I really cant see a new 'super reveal' power suddenly making everyone flock there. -

As someone who has spent 20 mins looking for Dr Whathisname, in the mission from Tina, I think this would be a good idea. As others are saying, make it totally optional. But considering we ALREADY have AE Fire Farms that let people hit 50 in an hour..why is it so bad that other groups of people want to save time and not have to hunt for glowies/bosses/ladt dude on the map? Make it another Prestige Power..Super Reveal or something. Oh so everyone with SS + a stealth power is OP and should be nerfed? Got it. -
No arguments on your pylon times or +4 clear alls..but is this really the ONLY metric of measuring how 'good' an AT is? Performance wise, sure, but does everyone using these 3 ATs only farm/pylons/+4 kill alls? About the only thing I can see is too increase Brute damage caps. Brutes are in the middle, but I am sure that people who enjoy playing brutes still play em. I know when I log my brute in, I dont think 'man, a scrapper could be killing faster and a tank would be tougher'...I just think 'Brute SMASH!'

Increase Immobilization Protection for Grounded
Razor Cure replied to Apparition's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I am sure there was another thread on this topic awhile back. And of course someone just HAD to argue the power should not be changed for RP/theme reasons! I cant recall, does Grounded do anything else? +etc? Cause if not, it should. No other set has ONE single power giving -kb, and nothing else. I'd also give the opinion that playing ANY toon without combat jumping is just madness 🙂 -
Not to contradict you there Ty, but even way way back when I first went Blueside (I started on CoV when it was still a seperate purchase), I would have seen maybe..5 scrappers with confront, from that time up until the shutdown. Not to say there wasn't more, but the power was 99.9% hated and viewed as useless. So todays combat has just made things worse, sadly. I think PLacate is still fine and usable, even though only one of my stalkers has it (my savage/bio is more aoe, so a ST placate is meh). And I did take it on both while leveling up, where it is a great panic button, as well as a help till you get the ATOs. About the only thing I could think of (cant make it aoe, for reasons listed in the above replies) would be to give it a +AoE def buff, so that non def based stalkers dont Placate and instantly get hit. For confront..well, a few of my non-IO'd scrappers have it, but more for lack of anything else to take. As a pulling tool, sure, but you can just as easily pull with Blackwand. Again, making it an AoE seems a bad idea to me. I'd suggest giving it a small +to hit buff or crit chance versus that target only, representing the scrapper psyching themselves up before attacking. Of course, as others said, buffing both powers does further improve two great ATs..
