  1. Oh, that's the password to enter the real, underground Great Britain. You say it to the doorman at Madame Tussauds. ... I've revealed too much.
  2. We here in Britain appreciate your translation. I'd have been totally lost othewise.
  3. I think the conclusion here is a great point. It's one thing to break the game's terms and conditions and another to break unspoken societal rules of engagement. Devs may not have jurisdiction over the latter, but the society can and will reign over it by ostracising those who don't abide. On the other hand, those unspoken rules can get quite toxic themselves and the communities can become very insular. I think I've been on both sides of that elsewhere. These statements aren't pointed at anyone here, mind you. That's not been my experience of CoH. Though I usually keep to myself. I'm sure others might feel differently though.
  4. I mean, that's literally why. I dunno if folks are upset about PvP in general here. Or upset at all. The conversation seems to be about particular yet ambiguous behaviours that could manifest through PvP. The lines someone would need to cross to be worth reporting are independant of any PvP system, and even then it wouldn't be hard to avoid. I've seen bad PvP behaviour in other games, but not CoH. I've enjoyed what little PvP I've done, but I made a point to play with friends who I knew wouldn't take it seriously and we'd muck about. I've got into a couple random fights in RV, and that was fun but daft, wildly flying about.
  5. It has two components. One is auto, the other isn't. When you pick the power, it will remove the interrupt from the other powers regardless of if it's active or not. As a click power, it boosts your healing.
  6. Oh for sure. I kinda thought about maybe doing a Ninja/TA MM, but then looked on the forum and saw everybody dumping on it so now I'm definitely gonna do it.
  7. Sort of. My main from live was Reep the Barbarian, an edgelord BS/Dark scrapper who belonged to a different time of my life and to toxic communities I could have done without. He now exists as a Warshade called Eidolon, who's nictus parasite has totally consumed the life of the host. The original outfit is there as an alternative, but he and I have both moved on. Similarly, my main villain swapped from an ancient Pharaoh Dark/Fire Brute called Naazkorath to a more modern, immortal, mummified crimelord called Mister Grim, now a Thugs/Time Mastermind. He was still Naazkorath in his original life, but has had many high society identities across time. (I now know that Naazkorath isn't actually a possible name in ancient Egyptian, and if it were possible it wouldn't belong to a Pharaoh) I haven't remade that costume yet as an alternative; I really ought to. My new main is Hawkmoth, a DP/SR Sentinel. She was (I think) a DP/Devices Blaster with a slightly different name on live, who became my main in Champions Online. She has a more fun, cocky personality than my previous mains, is more humble in her ambitions and feels like she belongs better to the city.
  8. Totally this. Why MMOs ever decided they need so many different currencies is nuts, let alone currencies that do the same thing. (Though I know threads and shards only aligned their use with homecoming, but even so. Get rid of those dang shards.) If we could email merits in bulk too, then the larger, obsolete merits could be phased out as well.
  9. I think the devs have been playing with vectored knockback, which could open up some cool possibilities like this. I'm really excited for what knockback could become with a little more control.
  10. *enters topic to brag about something.* *reads current page* *tries to leave* *there is no escape*
  11. PvPing doesn't make you a buttface. PvPing in a PvP zone certainly doesn't make you a buttface. It's possible to be a PvPer and also be a buttface. It's possible to be a buttface through the medium of PvP. But I've not seen that ever in CoH.
  12. I'm certainly in the 'more challenge' camp, but grinding the same content doesn't really qualify to me. It's very easy to build incarnates now, but I appreciate being able to do things however I like. I feel instead like the ambient world needs (options for) a few features to deal with our incarnated characters, but that's a different conversation. I like veteran rewards as they are, I think. My main is vet level 69 (and I've turned off xp. No reason), and it's been nice to have something to level up towards. As BZB says, maybe there ought to be something for people 100+? I dunno what, though - you don't want to cram your inventory with redundant crap, nor do you want features that exclude lower vet-level players.
  13. This suggestion feels like it comes from somewhere very painful. Don't worry, OP. We feel you. We know the hurt.
  14. Maybe we should leave the straw men from the last thread buried in their grave...
  15. Even though I'm normally in the 'more difficulty' camp, I couldn't back this specific idea. I was fighting vanguard on a perfectly soloable character yesterday and had to floor the difficulty. I do like that such enemies exist, but I wouldn't want it to be everyone. A similar suggestion was to have an option for support bosses who'd appear now and then and provide a random buff to its allies. One of those buffs could be a -def proc, like you suggest. Players who don't focus such bosses do so at their peril. I could get behind that a little more - it's not just trying to subdue the meta; it brings a small ounce of situational awareness and coordination to the game.
  16. But the green number under our names is important too, right? Just asking cos mine is getting quite high but my Dad still doesn't seem proud of me.
  17. Those character names are golden.
  18. A clues based badge hunting walkthrough would be a pretty neat project!
  19. If you take a look at the Homecoming Faultline badge changes, you'll see it was a bit of a collective effort to find the new badges. They were hunted down within a couple of weeks, no piggs were harmed. I think the early badge hunting was much the same, but I wasn't really active at that time to know for sure.
  20. Yeah, as an opt-in thing this would be kinda awesome. Even as a non-PvPer, it'd be nice to have that sort of dynamic around.
  21. No dang way, that's awesome!
  22. I put the chance for hide proc into the assassin's strike power. Fire it off when you get Assassin's Focus for a big crit and hide then fire off your strongest attack for another big crit. I put the chance to recharge buildup into my strongest attack, but there might be better options. I find build up is available a lot that way.
  23. I guess criticism (critical criticism) requires an objective standpoint. Comparing opinions wouldn't qualify. "I find farming boring" isn't the same as "farming is boring". The second is a criticism - an unfounded one by itself - the first one isn't. Edit: And to add, the statement "farming is boring" is disproven the moment someone says "I find farming fun."
