  1. I know that a second Tyrant (“Lil’ Tyrant”) often spawns at the start of the Magisterium trial in front of the Emperor Cole statue. I know that the trial can fail if you defeat big Tyrant too quickly. What I don’t know is this: What happens if you defeat Chimera before Nega-Pendragon and Shadow Hunter? I have heard whispers and rumors of Magisterium trials failing as a result of defeating Chimera first, but not how.
  2. IIRC, there was a bug report earlier stating that the desk does appear, but somehow is quickly destroyed, making the mission impossible to complete.
  3. Per a discussion on the City of Heroes sub-Reddit (you can find it here), something that Homecoming has done to its shaders can corrupt shaders for other City of Heroes servers as they are all cached in the same folder - AppData/Local/NCSoft/CoX/shaders May want to move the shaders cache to a different folder for those of us who play on multiple servers.
  4. As a red side player, the PPD being jerks is nothing new. 😛
  5. Nah. It was a direct nerf to Super Speed touted as a "quality of life upgrade." Now where a +5 boosted generic endurance reduction IO could be slotted in Sprint on Dark Miasma/Darkest Affinity, Cold Domination, Storm Summoning, and Arachnos Widow characters, you have to slot a +stealth IO enhancement instead. So you get to maintain the same amount of stealth, but now your endurance usage is higher. That's a nerf.
  6. Yep. I've soloed gold side from levels one through level 35 (Precinct Five through Night Ward), on Defenders, Blasters, Corruptors, Brutes, and Masterminds. It was certainly easiest on the Brutes, but it was doable on the other ATs as well. And if you can solo gold side, you can solo any story arc.
  7. All four North American shards in Canada utilize the exact same hardware. Having one North American shard costs the exact same amount as having four North American shards. There would be no cost savings merging shards. Per Number Six a couple of months ago, merging shards will not happen since there are no cost savings to be had, it would just create headaches with SG bases lost and name conflicts, and some people prefer playing on quiet shards.
  8. Super Reflexes isn’t bad, it’s that Shield Defense is overall better. Yeah, yeah, DDR. Ageless Radial Destiny smoothes that out, and you end up doing more damage in the end. But for those secondaries that you can’t pair with Shield, Super Reflexes is a good choice.
  9. Some of them still do. Henri Dumont, Mortimer Kal, Archmage Tarixus, Kristof Jaeger, Crimson Revenant, Slot Machine, Arbiter Leery, Number 204, Viridian, and Television. Doc Buzzsaw was unlocked in Issue 27, Page One. Veluta Lunata was unlocked in Issue 27, Page Two. Ambassador Kuhr'Rekt and Johnny Sonata were unlocked in Issue 27, Page Five.
  10. Sometimes you need to wait up to fifteen minutes for the map to close, IIRC.
  11. Yeah, that's the general downside with Excelsior. It's really hard to connect with anyone there. I've been playing there off and on for three and a half years. Even leading content, I really haven't connected with anyone outside of those that I already knew from live. Of course, out of those I knew from live, all but four or so have stopped playing. So when I team now, it's almost entirely with PUGs. I don't blame Excelsior in particular. It's just been the general trend in online gaming. It's a lot more difficult to make new friends in online games now compared to fifteen years ago, for various reasons.
  12. Before double XP was added to the P2W vendor, everyone that played on Excelsior when it opened was given double XP for a couple of weeks in order to incentivize people to leave Torchbearer. It worked extremely well. Then, not to start drama or anything, but some people believed that most of the community's "rotten eggs" stayed behind on Torchbearer, further incentivizing them to stay on Excelsior. Eventually, Homecoming's population as a whole started crashing heavily in late 2020/early 2021 as the COVID-19 pandemic waned. Torchbearer and Indomitable started heavily bleeding people. Excelsior itself lost a lot of people as well. But Excelsior still had the most people, so those on Torchbearer and Indomitable started migrating to Excelsior to fill in the holes of people that left. That heavy bleeding from Torchbearer and Indomitable has slowed down some, but continues as a trickle as more and more people left Torchbearer and Indomitable. Over the past year, people have started leaving Everlasting for Excelsior as well. From what I've been told, Everlasting is very cliquish. If you're not in one of the big cliques, it's extremely difficult to get a team there. So they left. That's basically where we're at now. Edit: If you notice over the past three and a half years, there's a definite trend. As Homecoming loses people, so does Excelsior. But with Excelsior remaining the most populated shard, people on the other shards started migrating en masse to Excelsior. Excelsior's population remained relatively steady in 2021 and early 2022 as the other shards started heavily draining into Excelsior. But now even Excelsior's population numbers are starting to wane. If I were a betting man, I'd wager that 95%+ of the remaining Homecoming population will be on Excelsior by the end of next year, leaving the other shards ghost towns.
  13. On a serious note, yes, Excelsior has more lag in zones (Atlas Park, Ouroboros, and the Rikti War Zone especially), than the other shards because it's the most populated shard by far. In instances though, I haven't noticed any more lag on Excelsior than the other shards.
  14. Yep. This point was raised multiple times during testing, but somehow the developers were convinced that it's a quality of life upgrade. How, I'll never know. C'est la vie. It's done, and I don't expect it to be changed back.
  15. Radiation Emission is considered subpar on Masterminds for the same reason as Kinetics. The +recharge from Accelerated Metabolism doesn't work on henchmen. If you don't care about that, go for it.
  16. New version of Mids' Reborn is out, with over three dozen bug fixes. Click on "Help" > "Check for Updates" > "Just Update" Do that twice. The first time will update the application itself, and the second will update the database.
  17. Corruptor numbers have been bugged in game for a couple of years now by including Scourge. Don’t rely on them.
  18. Pretty sure that you all have to be Rogue.
  19. Yep. Sonic Resonance is the only support power set I would ever play as a Defender. The rest, Corruptor all the way. The differences in buff and debuff values aren’t significant enough to notice. The damage difference, however, is. Especially, as you noted, against hard targets. Whenever I see a Kinetics or Trick Arrow Defender, or a Defender with Fire Blast, Ice Blast, or Water Blast, I wince inside.
  20. If you *can* do melee and range without severely impacting everything else, yes, that would be better.
  21. Lucks in and of themselves are not an issue, really. Storing 100+ large and super lucks in e-mail messages at all times is.
  22. Will be "soon." Because the mobs are usually only +1 or +2.
