  1. Make sure Rest is disabled.
  2. I normally keep it at 3, except, as above, when glowie hunting. An update a couple of years lowered the sound of glowies to the point where I can now barely hear them at all, even right next to one. So I raise the volume to 60. Everything else is deafening, but I can finally hear the glowies just enough to find them. Increase the sound of glowies exponentially back to where it was in 2019 and on live, and I would definitely see no issue lowering the max volume to 20.
  3. Agreed. I occasionally raise the volume slider to 60 just to be able to hear the glowies, while everything else is deafening. I don't know why the sound of glowies was lowered to almost non-existent a couple of years ago, but it's quite annoying.
  4. They didn't. I've been seeing a lot of people saying that in-game today, but it's not true. You can still get veteran levels in AE. That change was reversed, and instead changed into removing the Empyrean reward merit conversion.
  5. It's a known bug. The workaround is to make a new character with a random name, and then change the character name to what you wanted.
  6. It's a bug. Create the character with a random name, then rename the character to what you want. It should work.
  7. The former has been an issue since City of Villains beta. I agree that it should be fixed. The latter is a bug that can hit all newly made characters, whether in Breakout, Atlas Park, or Outbreak. If you make a new character, and log out without doing anything else, when you log back on your power trays may be empty. I have found that that doesn’t occur if you complete a mission. It’s a bug that has been around for a while, but Page 3 exasperated it.
  8. If you are going to PUG, then lead the PUGs. When someone joins that does a lot of knockback, calmly explain that knockback is detrimental to the team, and that he or she should slot knockback to knockdown IO enhancements. Explain how to obtain them. Then kick the person from the team, and let him or her know that he or she will be more than welcome back once the KB to KD IO enhancements are slotted. Also, grab Fold Space to deal with immobilized or held mobs. Bring them to you.
  9. We need both. Almost all of my friends I had playing the game (dozens of people), back in 2019 and 2020 are long gone, because they disliked how "easy" the various changes SCoRE and Homecoming made the game. Increased accessibility to ATOs, PvP IO enhancements, purple IO enhancements, winter IO enhancements, and Incarnate abilities made City of Heroes a substantially easier game compared to live, which killed their interest. They've since moved on to raiding in World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XIV, and Guild Wars 2. The only way to keep that crowd around and to keep new players like them around is to offer new optional content with increased difficulty that makes use of all of the new shiny toys SCoRE and Homecoming threw our way. But yes, blue side also badly needs a revamp of content between levels ten and 40 or so to help keep new players.
  10. Confirmed. Ambassador Kuhr'Rekt is still locked behind the Native badge, despite that requirement being removed a couple of years ago. I don't know if it the requirement was accidentally re-added at some point, or if it was just never removed despite being in the patch notes. That means native gold siders cannot do any of Ambassador Kuhr'Rekt's missions after going red side, as they cannot obtain the Native badge.
  11. Page 4 is on the pre-release Shadow shard. Tuesday?
  12. Things can be overtuned, but not overtuned to the point that it overshadows everything else (like Titan Weapons, Mission Architect, and arguably Cold Domination). Then you're eventually either ostracized or "strongly encouraged" into playing them. Also, Homecoming never took a bad set and revamped it into something good? Energy Melee, Electrical Blast, Stone Armor, Trick Arrow, and I'd argue Sonic Attack would like a word.
  13. That's because there are a lot of people who chase the meta. Titan Weapons is still very good now. It's just no longer brokenly overpowered. You know what is overpowered now? Energy Melee. So the people who played Titan Weapons back in 2019 and 2020 are playing Energy Melee now. Not because Titan Weapons is bad now, but because Energy Melee is the new overpowered meta. They'll always chase the most minmax option. I mean, you have people who (wrongly), claim that any Advanced Difficulty TF or SF simply cannot be done without at least one (preferably two) Cold Domination characters on the team. Why? Because Cold Domination is overpowered. Nerf it to just very good (which should have been done years ago), and they'd just glomp on to whatever the next overpowered support set is. So that people are no longer playing Titan Weapons isn't really a condemnation of the rework done to it, it's more a sideeffect of the "must be overpowered" mentality at work. I.e., many people weren't playing Titan Weapons because they liked it. They played it because it was overpowered. Now they play the new overpowered power set, until the next overpowered power set comes along.
  14. Go to your name on the upper right hand corner of the page, click it. Just above "Sign Out," you'll see "Ignored Users." Click that. Then at the top, start typing the name of the person that you wish to ignore.
  15. Unfortunately, the “Join Already in Progress” option in LFG is busted. It has never worked, even back on live.
  16. Never play red nor gold sides, I take it?
  17. Depending on the build, I always go with either Mace Mastery for Scorpion Shield, or Mu Mastery for Charged Armor.
  18. Cold Domination, Poison, Radiation Emission, Traps, and Trick Arrow are the top debuffers. Can’t go wrong with any of them, solo at least. Traps can be slow on teams, however.
  19. I noticed lately that Ambassador Kuhr'Rekt sometimes does not introduce himself when training to level 40 as a Rogue, but will also introduce himself after level 50 seemingly at random. His badge unlock requirement was supposed to be removed a couple of years ago, but I wonder if it was fully.
  20. Barracuda SF, obviously. You dislike escorting the four Arachnos patrons around a Fifth Column cave map now? Try it at tier 4, with the Fifth Column Incarnate boosted! Experience the joy of fighting Reichsman with never-ending Incarnate Fifth Column ambushes… not for twenty minutes, but for two hours!
  21. Yep. Go run the Who Will Die? Part 4 SSA in St. Martial (the contact is Tyrka) at -1x3. Afterwards, congrats, you've obtained the Hero Slayer badge and unlocked Lord Schweinzer in Port Oakes who offers all nine Mayhem missions. Go in the mission, grab the exploration badge, get out, drop the mission, grab the next Mayhem mission, rinse, repeat. The whole thing (including Tyrka's story arc), takes about 45 minutes. Why anyone still runs the six Task Force Commander TFs for the accolade, I'll never know.
  22. Bingo. As I already stated in the thread, I would never PUG it.
  23. No. Each attack will have both a typed defense and a positional defense to check against. If an attack is Fire/Ranged, then it'll check both your Fire and Ranged defenses, and go for whichever is higher. So it would check your 58% fire defense. What is happening before/on Homecoming now is that an attack may be typed both Fire and Lethal, and Ranged. So it would check all three, and if your Lethal defense was highest, it would go against that.
  24. That's been a bug since the Apex TF was introduced back on live.
