For the past day or so, I've been unable to logon. I get this lovely error:

All that's changed is that the mobs outside of the first seventeen aggroed will hurl ranged attacks at you. As soon as a spot opens up in the seventeen, they'll move into melee. Before, those outside of the first seventeen aggroed would just look at you funny. Taunt, in and of itself, has not changed.

I just pick what looks fun to play, and then min-max the heck out of it. That includes things that are far from meta. As long as you are having fun and not harming anyone else, that's all that matters.

That's the New 52, which was thankfully mostly wiped from continuity. Doesn't count.

The 30th is a Friday. This coming Saturday is October 1st.

It's an issue of server culture. On the Excelsior shard, the LFG channel is far too busy to for leaders to look for "I'll join" comments. Sometimes there are literally three or four advertisements in the LFG channel in a minute, so "I'll join" is pointless as you could be replying to any one of them. On the other shards, the LFG channel is not nearly as busy, so you'll frequently see people replying in LFG "I'll join," to whatever is being advertised.

I can't say that I've ever experienced this outside of Hamidon and Rikti mothership raids. Try turning your world detail up to 200% under graphics options.

Unfortunately, on 3* and 4* hard modes, Controllers are mostly seen as a liability due to their low damage… all except Illusion/Darkness Affinity. Why? Because Phantom Army can be used as an off-tank, and Darkness Affinity is very good and only available on Controllers. Fade and Soul Absorption are great.

Responsibility tries to protect and serve the people and do good within the confines of the law and society. Hero. Power is all about him or herself. You aren’t really evil, you just do good things for the wrong reasons. Rogue. Warden tries to protect and serve the people and do good, even if that means breaking the law and even going up against the law. Vigilante. Crusader is a nut job who is fine with blowing up hospitals, gassing people, kidnapping and murdering civilians, and feeding people to Ghouls. Villains.

Halloween GMs definitely do spawn in Kallisti Wharf, FWIW. No idea about Echo: Atlas Park.

Indeed I do, quite a bit of experience with it. Force Field/Water Blast Defender the last few months of live, and two Water Blast/Force Field Corruptors on Homecoming.

I'll be blunt. Force Field as it stands today is not a good power set. However, that said, it's also underrated. Many people severely underestimate the benefits of both the AoE mez protection it provides and the endurance drain resistance it provides. Those are both valuable things, and still fairly unique. Believe it or not, Force Field is actually good on the hard mode ITF thanks to all of its +defense, especially if it's PBU boosted. It's just in the general level 35 - 50 content outside of some iTrials and the hard modes, it's really lacking. Water Blast/Force Field Corruptor is a good combination. I advise you to stick with it and realize that even though many people aren't realizing it, you do provide a couple of benefits to a team.

Warden = Vigilante. Crusader = Villain. Power = Rogue. Responsibility = Hero. Much like in real life, it's not possible to be neutral in any aspect of City of Heroes, blue side, red side, or gold side.

It's been a long standing bug that seems to only affect certain people, not everyone. I don't think anyone's been able to figure out what the trigger is. @KaizenSoze reported it recently as well.

But many veteran players repeatedly say that we don't get any new players and that anyone who plays on Homecoming or Rebirth must be a veteran!

It definitely works at level one. I use it to run around Breakout and Precinct 5 at what feels like warp speed compared to live.

You really can't, at least not without a ton of work. The only code that leaked was the Issue 24 beta code, and you can't just comment things out and miraculously turn it into an Issue 17 server. You'd have to undo a lot of changes by hand.

And now the old blue boards are back online, courtesy of Rebirth's TheQuinch, and Homecoming and Victory's Michiyo.
