35mill an hour isn't slow, I would politely argue, simply because a spines/fire brute with heavy io investment running a broken AE game mode on a broken map/mobs can hit 100mill, respectfully. All other methods average about 35 an hour. That's just evidence that AE needs further adjustment, because flooding the market with that much info from one source leads to... Live levels of 200mill per purp. Respectfully.

I lol'd and then realized this might be a serious post. So, here's the easiest version: play a CoH AT. Boom. Solved. If you were looking for more specifics, you'll have to be more specific. It's like asking a mechanic to diagnose your car issues over the phone, on speaker, based on the sound. While you are talking. And kids are screaming.

Actually, OP, I have to drop a few more dimes. "ATO's available at mid level"... SO's don't become available until 22. IO's don't become viable until 22. ATO's? Making these easily achievable at mid lvl negates both of the previous. There are plenty of great sets available early to mid level. Additionally, ATOçs are more powerful than many mid level sets. This sounds like a simple request to make it easier to just be overpowered. ATO's are great, we all love them, but they are completely unnecessary, and are quiet powerful. Unless, you want +4 to be normal mode? I vote no. ATO's are already easy to buy.... Run task forces, trials, story arcs, and by 30 you have a pile of info and merits.

You have many options. The OG? Fire/kin. The FoM? Spines/fire brute. The Avant-guard neo-retro anti-farm? Marketeering. Also, a decent build wouldn't use rares, purps, oranges... And would be far less than 600mill. 600mill is a decked out build. As for maps, there are tons of options. Old school? PI maps from contacts. Middle school? Maybe AE. K-14? Pick a repeatable map, pick a fast recharging high damage set, that you can skillfully keep alive and go to town. The reason there isn't a go to farm guide is, there isn't a go to farm method. Moreso, it's experience with the game that allows one to perceive an angle that would yield high info per map. In the end, if you want around 25-35mill per hour return, any method works, such as repeating the same tf's every day. For example, the market crash guarantees a purp every refresh, and about 7mill INF. It takes about 40 minutes. Do that once a day, and you have 35mill there. Then do a speed ITF. Then a speed....etc. You just equalled most farming methods.

This is not true; the CoH Devs designed the Brute to fill the Tank/Scrapper rolls on Redside. Also before CoV came out; hells, pretty much right after CoH came out, the players found that they did not need a Tank. The CoH Devs had broken the Trinity, and most of us players were happy with that. This is CoH not some other MMO, and you Tank proponents need to quit arguing for the Trinity role that a Tank fills within a Trinity, because the Trinity is not going to happen in CoH. What I'm gathering from this thread is you all are trying to make the Tank into some type of Support/Melee. The problem I see is that you are trying to keep your heavy armor at the same time getting Support abilities through your inherent. I don't see that happening, but I could support the Tank being turned into a true Support/Melee. and then having a true roll in the group... Buffs/Debuffs & Heals on the front line. Otherwise the Tank is going to have the same issue it had when it stepped out of the CoH box. Brutes were not meant to be villain tanks. They shaped red to be more solo, and they did not want to mirror blue. If anything, the mm was the meatshield. The closest analogue a brute MIGHT have is a scrap. And before incarnates, scraps out damage brutes on a consistent basis. -

You have three real choices. Warriors, Maria Jenkins. Demons, Harvey maylor. Council, unai kemen. All three are great. I recommend get all three and keep them. Unai is one of his early ones, so as soon as you see council stop, don't get the glowies. As for 30mill, if this is your rate per hour, the above maps are the same yield. With notetiety set properly, you should be at about 13-20 minutes per map, with a yield of 7-10 mill. -
What's really interesting though, is I spent a good bit of time calculating R.O.I. on all these different ways... And it actually worked out that running a farm map is equivalent. 109 merits per hour, 32mill inf per hour.... It's a wash, as purps are 100/25-30m. So, I kinda like that now I can do tf's, msr, or run a map alone and it's even return. That said, I wouldn't be adverse to a *slight* purple drop rate increase.

Well I'll be a monkey's uncle... First group into the warriors and I finally received my first purple drop since coming back! What's even more serendipitous, I was on the last enhance of Armageddon, chance for fire, when boom! The purple drop was that very recipe i needed :) At least I know they're dropping!

Just ran for maaany hours. Warriors, and I have the run steady at 14 min each... not a single purple. Interestingly, many PvP sets, which sell ok, and using converters on crappy drops I made a fair bit. My diff has bosses shut off for speed, and I get 8mill a run. Yet, not a single purple. Warriors have purples on their drop tables, yes? And, LT's DO drop purples, yes?

Short: no. Probably a good thing though, as it teaches us to build not just for end game, but to build so the toon is viable as you play the game. Workaround: dynamic. This setting allows you to choose powers and slots out of order. -
Ah well, that's fate for you. As my tank build will be on the order of 500mill large, I'll still be running anyhow, so, I'll cross my wires and hope for an Armageddon I can use in the build vs buying... Thanks for the feedback, all!

Yes, completely get that, and dang, congrats! Just wondering if there's some new setting I wasn't aware of that I accidentally hit, and shut off purple drops. As j mentioned, p2w not used to restrict them. I thought maybe I accidentally hit a setting, or turning off exp at 50 precluded them...

Dang. I've done SO many runs now. Hmm. And I can't think of any setting that disabled purples I may have hit. RNbajeezus must be standing on me.

Strange. Now I suspect a setting I have inadvertantly disabled. Warrior map, lvl 50 toon, exp turned off to max INF, also tried it exp on as normal. No exclusion from p2w. I just don't get purples. Since coming back, not one. Any ideas?

The short... I recall that purple recipes dropped, while not frequently, much more often than now. Perhaps this is just my imagination, but I used to see a purple recipe once every 12-15 runs or so. I have yet to have a single purple drop since coming back to the game. So, is the drop rate for purple recipes the same as live?

By taking all three, 6 slotting crosspunch and putting an io set in it, your tank now has an attack that is superior to the set tier 1 and 2. Plus, it looks and sounds superfab. My SS tank uses: air sup, crosspunch, haymaker, ko blow and stomp, and it's damn good, no rage needed. By skipping tier 1 and 2, and picking up air sup and cross, the set is awesome. Kick and boxing are taken to buff crosspunch, in my case and the results are stellar. -

Inv/ss tank... Took all 3 and tough. No slots in kick or boxing, crosspunch is the bomb-diggity. 6 slot, io set it and crosspunch>jab or punch, equal to haymaker. Also, looks super-sweet. Thank you, fighting pool.
