  1. Literally, nothing. Yes, nothing at all, that's why it has subscriber numbers in the millions, while free CoX can't bust 100k... Mm hmm, and people still walk into traffic on their cell phones, obliviously. The world has all kinds of people, bless them. And, to each their own. That doesn't change the fact that the only thing wow does better than CoH... Is be terrible.
  2. ^^^ This. I'd be fine with just removing the damage debuff. I think it gimps the power to have two crashes. It should be an either/or IMO It currently has three crashes. Endurance drain, damage drain and defense reduction. Which is why my main tank skipped it completely. Sad huh?
  3. +1 Inf. But to get the Dr. Evils Unbridled Loathing to fully Perma Haten, you need to go thru 4 years of medical school missions...Otherwise you just have Mr. Evil's Unbridled Loathing... If you are Mr. Evil going through 4 years of medical school missions, does that make you Resident Evil? Sweet! +1 on you! If you're resident evil, can you choose residency? Say, the er on silent Hill?

  5. Can't argue that toasty, you're right about the angle of argument for sure. But, I don't think fulcrum needs anything, as is it's singly the top power in game. We all know exactly what it can do, and making it set capable... Is begging for a rebalance. Let's just move along and not stare at the elephant.

  7. It takes mad skills to perma Haten. A pure legend! Is Perma Haten going to lead to people dupin rares and jerk hacking? (Is Perma Haten this boards first thing)? By the power vested in me by... well, me, mostly, I henceforth declare Perma Haten GONE TO THE AMERICANS! Please abuse it. Permabusin' the haten. That sounds like a tier 9 secondary, "Permabusin'."
  8. I don't hate it - I wanted to see if I could get to softcap without having to use those three power choices, especially since boxing/kick and tough are pretty much wasted. (I was able to get to 87.3% SL res without Tough using the build I posted - the extra resist isn't needed.) With the power choices I saved, I was able to put in all three leadership toggles for team buffing, heavily slot up multiple Pyre Mastery attacks (improving my abysmal damage output as an EM tanker) and I'm pretty happy with the outcome. *shrug* YMMV. 87.3% is decent to ok, right up until you run into one of the most prevelent facts of mob secondary effects... debuff. And that 87% becomes 72%. Or lower. Oh also, weave is the bee's knees. Oh and, boxing, kick, and crosspunch all out damage barrage and energy punch. I know, sad day. I really loved my invuln/em tank on live, my main.... My first 50... I came to HC and.... REROLL! So much happier. Seriously, you COULD skip fighting, but you could also self inflict paper cuts between your fingers while simultaneously bathing in salty-lemon juices. Or, you could trade junk kicks with a eunich. But should you?
  9. Then IMO they should be fixed... not with "good" sets, just with sets. Now if they turn out to be good sets that's great. I mention Kinetics because I'm currently running a Beast/ Kin MM and noticed that these two powers did not have slottable IO sets... in primary powers no less. I'm not having an issue with her, she's only 12 right now but she is a Beast in melee, which is what I wanted from her, and is not really due to Kinetics at this time. As she levels I'm going to need to spend slots on her Kin powers and I would like the global buffs that come with IO sets (Especially if I continue to run her in melee.), and I'm not going to get them from these powers, but other power sets will get global buffs from the same number of IO slots spent. Not gaining the same benefits from the same number of slots is fundamentally wrong, and I cant believe that I'm having to argue for my suggestion. You people shouldn't be telling me "this is the way it is"... you should be listing the other powers that also should be fixed... and maybe suggestions for other, maybe better, things for the Kinetic powers I listed, which is what I thought I would get from this thread. Also, fulcrum is juuuuuust fine. Nothing to see here, fulcrum needs no adjustment. Please don't look at fulcrum. Pssst.... You DO realize what fulcrum does, right? NOTHING to see here!

Also you need to Slot the io Set "Superior Mouth of the Frau Farbissina" Beware, it will change your battle cry to "LOWER THE GLOBE!" And cause Perma fear. You might Haten that.

  12. Preface: I detest inconsiderate spam of massive KB from any source. That said, skill transforms KB into an amazing tactical tool. I have been watching the litany of threads concerning KB, and have evolved my opinion, in part due to the massive amounts of "requests to improve the game" (not targeting you op, or trying to single you out) that are in actuality a slow progression of dumbing down the game, making it simpler and more instant gratification. So, here it is: the io convert is as far as KB conversion should go. Powers and sets that have it should be left as is, no new enhances should be added and no ok sets should be changed with respect to KB. Why? Like many things, it is a unique facet of the game that is very powerful and handy, but much like a chainsaw, a bloody disaster when used irresponsibly. Lately, everyone seems to be subconsciously being pulled along in the current of asking for things to be made easier, faster, better and more instant. I had to stop a mission in game for 5 minutes to helpfully explain to a /stormy, that yes, hurricane is supermazing, and NO you should not leave the goddamn thing running Perma. Again, OP, this is not you, but an angle of perspective; I think we all need to council ourselves to adapt, and use a different approach, and we will find that KB isn't an issue (or other such aspects, like controlled mass immob abuse) it is our improper application.
  13. So this one is straight forward, because I have completely spaced it... Do power pool attacks proc gauntlet? I know attacks from tank secondary proc gauntlet, but I can't recall if attacks like air superiority or cross punch do.
  14. Sure, and in targeted aoe, posis blast only needs 5 slots... In single Target, ene blast kills so quickly knockback is a non issue
  15. Erm, acro has mag 2 hold protection. If you slot this into a t1 or t2 attacks it will generally proc once per minute, and you now have mag 3 hold protection. So yeah, use it with acro, or not at all.
  16. I once knew a guy who was able to.... Perma-haten. That fool was rollin'. Everyone was always trying to catch him riding dirty. I asked him how he had so much haten, he said... "I got 5 on it."
  17. Oh goodness, emphatically /jranger. Energy blast is extremely powerful, and the animations are awesome. Energy blast should not have it's knockback changed, because solo it's very survival friendly. On teams, it's transformed by proper use, and there's a KB to KD enhance for explosive blast and torrent, if you choose. Nerf the range? No thank you. Nerf the solo safety? No thanks. I'm all for improvements, but these are honestly not improvements. Your statement that the powers are not good enough to rationalize the io, is a non-starter, very sorry. Em blast is extremely powerful, the knockback has great use when solo, and is a non-issue on teams if tactical play is employed.
  18. Not every set must be boss in a vacuum. For instance, I would argue you're dramatically off base on storm. Pair it with earth, and the scale of it's capability is exponential. Perhaps considering that when evaluating the sets would unveil hidden aspects that render them potent. For example, thunderclap should be paired with other items. Additionally, you're not supposed to spam all these powers on top of each other, with all of them synergizing. One might spread rain in one area, and hold tornado out if additional aggro comes into play. The point here being that these powers are very powerful, when used properly. Another example would be the supposed team frustrating hurricane, one of the single most potent powers in game. There's nothing wrong or underperforming with storm, just incapable players who use them ridiculously, like trying to hang a nail to put up a picture with a sledgehammer. Or trimming nose hairs with a chainsaw. My earth/storm is truly epic and can turn any team into a steam-rolling machine that takes virtually no damage, all by herself. And I skipped the heal as it is completely unnecessary. I think you may not be considering that these powers are used tactically, that they are area denial and aggro mitigation, not spammy-stacky attack chain powers.

  20. The DA remake wasn't always a lvl 50 zone, I remember this. I do believe there was an update and then a revision, 3 versions, basically. I liked the middle, where you could go at mid levels.

We have players who don't know very well how to play the game, and we have Power Levelers...but the two aren't necessarily related We have different segments of PL'ers - Vet Players looking to get to lvl 50 and do whatever end game content they want Players who are being PL'ed by their friends so they can be the same level their friends are People exposed to PL'ing thru an in-game connection - shows them how to do it, and off they go People who read how to PL and just did it But let's be fair, no one just comes to the game, completely clueless and starts to PL. They have to either a.) acutely aware of the game mechanics in a way to build an "exploit" to level quickly without grinding or b.) they have to been exposed to it by someone else who knows what they are doing. So unless you fall into those last 2 segments, and however you were exposed to the game didn't share with you any other mechanics...you might struggle when you get to 50...But these are the minority cases, not the rule... Conversely there are different segments of people who don't play well as other players Casual Gamers who don't min/max People who don't understand AT Balance and ignore their secondaries - "Pure Healer","Damage Only","All Holds all the time" People who get bad advice and don't know to question it People who solo and don't read Paragon Wiki or the Forums Doesn't read like a list of people who only power level, does it...I mean I could be a power leveler and be any of those...but there are lots of players who don't PL who fall into all of these as well... It helps a lot on these forums when we don't paint with a big brush and label a segment of players as being "all one thing"...Player's reasons for being who they are and how they play and why they play are as varied as the sunsets... So yes it sucks when you do a PUG and someone doesn't know all the ins and outs as well as you do, but if they leave that group and haven't learned anything, that's now on you, not them And I would argue, if you're bar for a pickup group is "master level", then you have set a very high bar that most people who play this game can't meet. Now it may seem like I am slamming you ChocolateMercenary, and I am not...You've expressed a common opinion on these forums. This post is as much for them, and not an intent to single you out. But your post gave me an opportunity to respond... Very well said. It’s pretty sad that the opinion that PL/Farm = automatic idiot is so common. Especially when some of those opinion holders go so far as to say that PL/Farmers should be ridiculed and laughed at. I don't think that's common. In fact, I think most vet 50s farm in some form to afford enhances. Also, this thread turned into the Perma-haten thread. I see you rollin'....
