Alteration to Efficiency Expert Pither's Beat Up Aeon Mission
Jacke replied to Rudra's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I'm not quite sure of the details here. But if it's a Compass direction going wrong, that's something to do with the Beacons which isn't right (I've seen that in Mercy Island). What's more likely, if it's a popup saying "Cap au Diable" when it actually should say "Grandville", that's a typo of some sort in the mission. Which should be reported as a typo with the Contact and Mission. I've done Pither's missions on one Toon. Next time I do them, I'll be on the lookout for that glitch. -
In Soviet Kallisti Wharf, YOU get donated! 😺

With Escorting NPCs (ugh): Turn off all sources of stealth (and if you have the Base Buff Grant Invisibility, delete that Temp Power). This helps so much it's not funny. You can get well ahead of the NPC(s) and they'll still find you. Turn off all +Run Speed Powers, including Sprint, as you'll still move faster than the NPC(s) even with them off. As @Psyonico mentions, running backward and looking at the minimap to guide your way is a good way to keep an eye on the NPC(s). Clicking on the NPC(s) to target them, especially with Range turned on, also helps. If enemy show up, from any direction, use what Powers you have to (including stealth Powers that have other effects) to defeat them. Then pick up the NPS(s) again and start from the top. Get to the Exit point, wait for the NPC(s) to catch up and exit. If that ends the Mission, hurrah! Else do whatever else needs to be done.

Here we see the @Snarky Memorial Statue in Perez Parak. Whoops! Looks like Snarky must have had the "good" blood before posing. 😺

I think all the continued existence of KB proves is that there's only so much Power Devs attention to go 'round. There's only a few of them and they can't do everything every Page release.

I've seen other factors that don't show up in Combat Attributes still affect things in Combat. Sometimes, the final value in Combat Attributes is accurate, sometimes not, Would have to test such a Pet and check the Combat Logs to see what the actual final ToHit vales were in a situation where the relative Level difference between Pet and target are known, as well as anything that benefits the Pet like Leadership Auras (which are only disallowed in a few cases like Trip Mine). I've done this before for other Toons, but I don't have any Earth Control, Grav Control, Pyrotechnic Control, or Symphony Toons. I'll try asking in other places to see if I can find out more.

@steelfrost: RPer, friend, my wife.
Jacke replied to White Hot Flash's topic in Fallen but not Forgotten
My condolences. I still feel the pain of those gone even decades later. I also remember the joy of having them in my life. -
As virtually all builds that improve survivability without sacrificing that much damage are very tight (especially the limit of 4 Power Pools), many of my Toons only use Inherent and S.T.A.R.T. Powers for travel. Sprint or one of the Prestige Sprints (I like Prestige Power Surge with a L15 Celerity Stealth Proc). Athletic Run (rarely Ninja Run, not yet Beast Run) for running and jumping. These 2 Powers (and the similar ones) are Temp Powers (some without a duration) that work in any Zone or Map except PvP Zones. Void Skiff (rarely Flying Carpet, not yet Rocket Board) for flying without interacting or attacking others. Holiday Rocket Pack for 5 hours (I have fond memories of the Winter Event 30-day Holiday Rocket Pack) for flying and fighting. For PvP zones, I get the Arena Temp Travel Powers (vendors in each PvP Zone too) to get the Badges up on high.

That's where this macro can help: /macro FX "++noparticles" I use it whenever I can't see things well due to effects. But also have to use it again to turn particles back on. Else I can't see SG Portals or Teleport Portals of the Vanguard type, likely other things as well. At least it's not the other Police.

I'd not done a deep dive into Singularity, so I just did to see what its non-autohit attacks were. Crush: Base Accuracy 1.2 https://cod.uberguy.net/html/power.html?power=pets.singularity.crush&at=minion_controllerpets Lift: Base Accuracy 1.0 https://cod.uberguy.net/html/power.html?power=pets.singularity.lift&at=minion_controllerpets Gravity Distortion: Base Accuracy 1.2 https://cod.uberguy.net/html/power.html?power=pets.singularity.lift&at=minion_controllerpets And was about to give my Rules of Thumb for most Pets (and MM Henchment when I looked at its Resistances: https://cod.uberguy.net/html/power.html?power=pets.singularity.resistance&at=minion_controllerpets 2nd to last effect: -25% ToHit Strength (self only) for 10.25s (Per-Caster stacking, Replaces, Ignores Enhancements and Boosts, Ignores Resistances) Well damn, first time I've seen that on a Pet. Someone in the past really really hated Singularity. My advice to getting Singularity's final ToHit somewhere near 95% (hopefully): The vast majority of Pets (including all MM Henchmen) do not receive the benefit of the Caster's Global Buffs, including Level Shifts, Global ToHit, and Global Accuracy. MRB is mistaken about this. It's such a large and fundamental bug it's effectively unfixable. Need to use some guides to avoid needing to calculate a lot. Slot the Singularity Cast Power with ED-capped Accuracy (~94% or more). Normally if important Pet attacks are under Base Accuracy 1.2: Just need Tactics with only the Base Slot (even on a MM) OR -Def debuff on the target. But a Grav Controller wants BOTH and wants to add Slots to Tactics. Have the Grav Controller take Tactics, give it an Extra Slot or Two, and enhance its ToHit, hopefully close to its ED-cap for Controllers, 16% If have -Def debuffs, use it on the target. Hope the Team also has more Tactics and -Def debuffs.

Hey @Syssiah, the current maintainer of Vidiotmaps is @AboveTheChemist. The topic for ATC's Vidiotmaps is here: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/37216-vidiotmaps-for-homecoming/ I suspect you have files left over from previous installs of Vidiotmaps that may be interfering with the latest .pigg file from @Michiyo City Mod Installer. Go to the first post at that link above and follow the instructions in these two sections to check for files from old Vidiotmaps installs: Removing/Deleting Old Installations Outdated Files I believe you have already done some of the first point, but you should check again to be sure. Then I suggest you use the City Mod Installer to remove the .pigg file version and redownload and install it, just to be thorough. If you are still having issues after that, report back here and either ATC or Michiyo should be able to help you. EDIT: Wasn't using the HC Launcher. Now resolved.

I've decided to limit my use of Energy Blast to a Blaster, Energy Blast/Atomic Manipulation. The Secondary T1 is an Immobilize that gives the mob Knockback Resistance (only some of the Blaster Secondary T1's have KB Resistance, with some having a way long Cast Time). So, for ST fire, drop and maintain the Secondary T1 on a target means it gets knocked down, not knocked back. Will only worry about using KB>KD IOs on the AoEs.

Snarky wasting blood ?!? Say it ain't so!?!

Worst arcs that assume your character is an idiot?
Jacke replied to Zhym's topic in General Discussion
When I think about it, I kind of remember the Barracuda Strike Force. Talk about starting out as sheep being led to the slaughter. Then your team becomes the shepherds for some rather overpowered "sheep". The finalé is rather harder than the Kahn TF. And as bad as a +4 Kahn would be, I don't even want to think about a +4 Barracuda. 😺 -
Well, damn. It's worse than Eagles Claw which I skip on all ATs. Even having a flat 20% chance to recharge Power Siphon is likely not enough. I find the early Powers work well with Power Siphon if all 3 of the T1, T2, and T3 are taken. Then Power Siphon is great, fire it, pump up the +Damage Buff with those low Tier Powers, then use the...damn, Concentrated Strike. Wow. Drop it off my Kinetic Melee/Ninjitsu and add on Cross Punch--which has a better ST DPA and is a 50° melee cone. I was taking another look at this topic as I was doing a new build and wanted to make sure I'd not missed anything. Good thing too.

Like "bring balance to the Force" with Anakin Skywalker worked out so well for the Jedi. Guess they forgot to define "balance" first.... Perhaps try a few of them individually, if possible.

Welp, time to drag out my old plan for a Clown MM Primary. Where is it...? This was a repost, good stuff copied below: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/53002-marine-affinity-archetype/#comment-665933 As I posted on Discord back in 2022: 🤡

From 2005 August, Repeat Offenders have been playing this game and adapting to whatever the game was at the time, teaming however they wished, or playing solo. Sometimes finding ways, Team compositions, and Toon builds to "push the envelope" so to speak. 😺 Some content does need a Tanker(s), sometimes other Archetypes are needed or helpful, and Advanced AKA Hard Mode does demand certain Team Compositions and Incarnate Powers selections. But most of it at a low enough Notoriety can be played however you wish. Even higher Notoriety with a better Build and Tactics.

French knights in castles are the ultimate foe! Be careful or they will taunt you a second time! 😺 -
As @Rudra mentioned, Vidiotmaps is a Mod for Homecoming, maintained by @AboveTheChemist. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/37216-vidiotmaps-for-homecoming/ Check the section "Removing/Deleting Old Installations" to make sure you don't have some remnants of a manual install. If doing that and reinstalling via what I assume is Michiyo's City Mod Installer doesn't work, ask here for assistance. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/49175-city-mod-installer-released/

Are the Button names working for anyone in binds?
Jacke replied to BlackSpectre's topic in General Discussion
These should work. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/List_of_Key_Names -
I think @Snarky's rather chill already. Also rather unlikely to warm up at all. Kind of goes with his nature. 😺

I will mourn for a long time that Tanker Energy Aura has no stealth. Sigh. Another Toon I'll have to use up one of the only 4 Pool Picks on Concealment.

I know the pain. And especially that of the obstacles that we always hang up on in the various hallways we traverse. Or the big open maps where we've got to do an MMO "Where's Wally/Waldo" (a target keybind that can be editting to have the name of the silly target helps here). A moment of thought also had me remember that the standard keybind for 'V' is "+ctm_invert": Hold down 'V' and your Toon will move to that spot. I very rarely use it. But perhaps I should use it more.
