  1. It works, but it's lacking. The newer sets have very few holes, whereas ice has many. It relies on layering defenses (with debuffs/drains) in a way that is not intuitive at first glance. For Stone, it's probably still your strongest out of the box tanker - but unlike other sets, when you get to IOs youre not really building up its defenses (it reaches the softcaps/caps quite easily), you're building up your recharge/recharge procs/movement speed. Still can't jump, though. Stone definitely isn't bad - it's just (much like in wow) tanks have evolved to be how much damage they do, since most everything can survive now.

  4. Pretty sure you get Frenzy (and Call to Justice for Hero) if you just switch nowadays... just have to wait for a while after you switch. And you only have it while still that alignment.
  5. I'd still do a Cor over a blaster for sonic... But IDK. 1) Sonic/they all work, just go a higher damage secondary to take advantage of your debuffs... Energy would be nice for the boost range on cones P 2) Rad/Plant or Ninja 3) Dark/Martial or Energy (Boost range!!) 4) Ice/Tactical
  6. I'm not quite sure if its' meant to be a ranged, melee, or something focused set... I'd probably harmonize (hehe) that a bit more. That being said, what if your "stacks" were like, "This attack builds a stack of Dissonance. When you reach 3 stacks of Dissonance, your next attack releases a cacophony of sonic energy around your target, stunning (mag 2) and reducing the resistance to all damage of nearby enemies." Remove the stack consuming on all abilities except at cast 4. USe the graphic of music notes from Sirens ^_^ Then you can start removing some of the -res in the attacks in favor of some other effects. Scream (should actually be Shriek at moderate damage), Howl, Shout can keep theirs. Remove it from the melee attacks. Turn Harmonize into +deal extra damage as energy, +3 stacks (Copying Water blast for stacks, Martial for +damage). Would to see Sonic boom as a -Resist variant of Psychic Shockwave, personally. Something like this would give you Synergy with Stun A hybrid between Melee/Ranged Harmonize would benefit from its own abilities' -Resist Anyways, the issue I have with Sonic is that it inherently suffers from reduced damage due to its effect (a tax, if you will); as such, it does innately lower damage... which works well on sets that are not about doing damage. Since a Dominator is very much a 'be one of the ones doing damage' AT, it'll probably work out as well as Sonic on blaster (hint: it doesnt 😞 )

  11. Were all of the Cim outfits specifically made for NPCs (as in in their models) or were any made as actual outfits that could be ported to characters? Cuz they have some great ones... Specifically the female ones! Also: They have a lot of cool powers that would be great as alternates for some player sets (like the Siren music-notes for Sonic) lol

I think you can pick up Heal Other/Field Medic as a Defender without a heal in the early levels - where teaming is rough, nobody has IOs (not really a thing anymore), and they sorta rely on the defender "to heal." That being said, after that it's not needed - and when the defender builds flesh out they tend to be able to "do their job" without healing other people... I don't even heal other people on my healers, lol. Not directly, anyways.

    Ice on Brute

    No, the DDR ignores buffs/enhancements - - it's also resist not defense (so +def wouldnt affect it even if it could). Anyways, Your Smashing/Lethal (and somewhat Energy/Negative) defenses are high enough that with the saturation from Energy Absorption you'll probably not be too bad off. It's really the fact that ice has crap against the other defenses that hurts it (and zero resists). Going up against Arachnos was kill or be killed (quickly) lol This +4/8 in Cim with a random build (literally full sets just to make my life easier - note: not a real build with just 55% in s/l )... Also note: Ice doesn't just rely on defenses though. Energy Absorption is like 70% end drain... my random test character happened to be Electric/Ice, so you can see... well, the entire mob was basically at zero end the whole time... and slowed... so even then they barely hurt it... RANDOM SIDE NOTE: Brute is still laughably better than other ATs where you can just run into +4/x8 with zero worries and clear it faster than some full groups can... just sayin - even your bottom of the barrel brute is still above most other ATs lol

    Replace Vengeance for afterburner. Replace Psi with Leviathan and replace Dominate with Hibernate (instead of Phase Shift)
  19. I'd choose Mu or Soul, honestly. Soul is very good. Very good. Mu is almost as good. Soul had more endurance problems for me, primarily because of Gloom vs Mu Lightning... With Mu my endurance doesnt move, with soul I could eventually drain it after a LOOoooong time. But that probably shouldn't be a deciding factor (since it's so easy to avoid it with Soul). Leviathan is "cool" (HEHE) but the single target shark just bites (LOL). Ugh. If it weren't for that bite sucking, Leviathan would be a great way to fin (LOL)-ish the set. I do enjoy the mass aoe (and it felt like mass aoe) but the animation doesn't even match the shark it's just awkward... and SLOW. Oy. I'm using Mu right now- will likely switch back to Soul at some point...

  23. It's a pretty good balance between the other sets for the reasons @Coyote mentioned. It's done well. I think its recharge/duration could use some tweaking for Blasters to be closer to perma-by default, but oh well. Or a longer duration by default.

    IDK if I'd still use this build as it was one of my early ones but I happen to have a build I made for this weird combo lol
