A great thread by @Hyperstrike. Great for returning players after a 20 year hiatus. I can attest to the tank and Sentinel builds. Working on a Brute now. I have severe altitis. Love this community so much. And of course @Infinitum builds.

Forgive my ramblings: STANK is my favorite toon right now and thrives in team play. Which is how I destress from work and play with our friends we’ve made on Reunion this year. From what I can tell, he debuffs regen, defense, resistance, and max hp. He stacks on the tank and spreads his odoriferous illumination. Enemies lay at our feet……or I pull threat and faceplant in my zeal. Either way between melee core and Rune I can survive decently. I didn’t play or even know about CoH’s return until this year so nerfs to Rune predate my experience. I used your build and tailored it to my playstyle and I simply love it. I’ve been told frost/ice corrupters are wearing the crown of debuff queen/king, but I/we have more perfect runs with Stank and crew than my Frost/ice corrupter. I have a rad/rad defender that I recreated from live but he’s collecting dust currently. Thanks @Frosticus!

If I were building the brute and I were new…which I am, I would review the very first post and download the first build and flip the power sets. The build is in the first post of This amazing thread. Also, @Hyperstrike has an Invul framework thread that works for any archetype. My wife and I both have Invul tanks based on @Hyperstrike’s framework and shield tanks based on Infinitum’s framework. You can not go wrong with either. They are demigods. They only die when I do something stupid which is fairly often but is entirely fun. @Sovera has amazing walkthroughs of how to earn capital to finance your builds which are fantastic. He also has some great stone and fire builds. @Pulverizer has some excellent ones as well. Honestly, the veterans on here are extremely helpful to us new/returning players and their insight is invaluable. To find these treasures, it takes time to search through the various threads, but it is time well spent and the tasty tidbits of knowledge will help you in all your builds across all archetypes. Hi JJ, Thank you for all the hard work and dedication. If/When you decide to return, my daughter has a Nature Affinity/Electrical Blast Defender. I have helped her frankenstein it from various other builds up to this point. Wouldn't mind your expert take if you do return. If not, then I/we wish you the best!
