A yup. For the majority of the playerbase and how they play this game as their "relax after a long day of work or school and have a superhero power fantasy of bashing some heads" makes perfect sense. Which is why I keep saying a majority of players DO NOT GIVE A FLYING FARK if the game is easy. They like it that way. Personally if I want to play a challenging game where I still get to group with folks I go play FFXIV Online. Challenging single player game: one of the Souls games. I'm here for the relaxing "super hero power fantasy" aspect. 🙂 When I want to hurt myself with COH mobs, I go look for carnies, any of the newer mobs in the "Wards" or play the more difficult incarnate trials (on the rare times they are running lol) Let me put it this way: It says something that the most run Incarnate Trials are the BAF and LAM.
-
With that said I would not mind seeing the OP's idea implemented in a new co-op zone where it's an actual game mechanic of the zone. Similar to how the Mothership Raid was launched as a part of RWZ years back. You could even make it a new Incarnate Zone.
-
Well, there will be if you run nothing but newspaper missions. 😛 With that said I'm not too keen on a change that enforces or changes whole zones based on the actions of a few. Or similar suggestions. When the pvp side of the community made the same suggestion years ago or similar, many folks also didn't like that idea. (For example, the pvp outcomes in RV or SC affecting pve zones).

Agreed. But every time "this game is too easy" (no, it's only easy when you choose to make it that way) nerfing damage powers or softcapping always comes up. And some want to do one without the other. My point of posting what I did was to show that you'd need to deal with BOTH sides of the equation if you're serious about dealing with power creep. Killing mobs faster is just one part of it. Being near un-killable is the other part. The problem isn't JUST about nukes or judgements. The problem isn't just about everyone being so unkillable that support "feels" like they are useless. It's a combination of things. This ofcourse assumes we all agree it's a problem. We clearly DO NOT. Personally I couldn't care less if the base game as is is easy. The proper solution IMO is to add harder content or more difficulty options. Leave the rest of us alone.

Granted, I think folks make waayyy too big deal about teams steam rolling things. Teams of superheros smashing things to bits is . . . pretty much the genre of superheroes. I've always been of the opinion that there should be harder difficulty options if some folks find the current endgame too easy. EDIT: Also whenever it's suggested those folks who just find the game too easy try fighting mobs like Rularu, Carnival or any of the other groups that can and will stop most steam rolling teams in their tracks, the response is often crickets.
-
The powercreep in end game that everyone hems and haws about is not just because of damage. It's also because folks are able to make pretty much unkillable characters at endgame.
-
Sure as long as we reduce the effectiveness of softcapping defense also. To be fair.
-
Sure, as long as it's OPTIONAL and not forced on everyone.
-
I would see that as supremely inconvenient. But I hardly ever run lower level tfs anymore so as long as it doesn't affect higher level tfs, then no issue.
-
I'm the complete opposite. I find the old tfs grating and annoying. Especially having seen what Paragon was able to do in later tfs. The older tfs IMO need a complete revamp. Same as older low level content.

No it is a good one. That's how the damn game works. That's how it's always worked. Grab any 8 and go to town. -
At a certain point this game will need new content. Folks simply don't want to play the same content over and over again (whether high level or low). System tweaks and under the hood stuff is fine for maybe 1 or two pages a year. Beyond that folks are going start to wander to play other new games/shinnies/other forms of entertainment, as some of the stuff that couldn't get released last year cause of the pandemic starts to come to fruition this year. (I say this realizing the micro size of our volunteer team that has actual day jobs).

I think the changes made improved stalkers. Prior to them I played one or two in pvp from time to time and called it a day. -

IF there is ANY set that didn't need buffs, it's kinetics. LOL Agreed. -
You can transfer to another server then transfer back and you lose nothing.

TBH I think anyone saying power creep in that instance is trying to prevent FURTHER power creep. Not that I agree with that sentiment at all. I agree more with Luminara's points, after giving it some thoughts. The OPs suggestion could be tweaked a bit. -

Hell it was and is the whole point of Repeat Offenders and other such super groups that stack 8 support characters. 🙂 -

This would also effectively mean I wouldn't bother with incarnate content. It's already limited enough with some powers not being available below level 45. No thanks. -

I personally find them annoying also. But I still like the tfs for how fast they are and not a slog to get through, so I deal. lol -
Tanker/Controller archetype?
golstat2003 replied to TheLeprechaun89's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Which is why I don't even notice them as doing anything. I'd rather we not have yet another inherent based on teaming. -

The two bolded statements above are where they should take any inherent for such an AT. -
Tanker/Controller archetype?
golstat2003 replied to TheLeprechaun89's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I would not like an inherent that required team mates to be around. If I'm having end problems playing the game on my own, say "go get some teammates" isn't very appealing to me. A "team most of the time" AT just doesn't sound interesting if it has inherent problems soloing.
