This, so very much this!!!!

Working as intended. LOL š Yeah if you're not paying attention certain DA mobs can flatten you. I think that's a good thing.
-
Give folks the options for tf requirements and regular content difficulty so that they can make the content as hard (or even easier if they choose to go the opposite direction) as they want. This would include an option to remove the aggro cap from a mission.

Good lord this pet is incredible! never knew it was that good. The puffy glow ball has now replaced imps as my favorite pet. LOL

Judgement IS restricted. Incarnates cannot be used below 45. All the other things that come from set IOs in many instances aren't, especially when we are referring to balance. Just responding to what was posted in the thread. ------------ From Oedipus_rex: I don't want to get into a fight with anyone about the Incarnate system, but other than the Alpha slot I find it same-y and less exciting. It's not just about power inflation, for me it's about the fact that I spent all this energy picking out a build and crafting it just for every character to end up with same-y temp powers. Judgment recharges in 90 seconds so on a team of 8 it fires every 12 seconds. It just holds no more attraction for me. I've become a soloist and since I can solo more to my taste on a private server where I make the rules, I spend a lot more time there than in public servers. None of this is the Homecoming team's fault, it's what the were left with. I wish the OG dev team had been less inclined to burn down old content to build their newest adventures.
-
And one of the reasons I don't see myself playing long term on some of those servers.
-
The point is the game was already unbalanced by things like crashless T9s long before judgement came around. Plus perma-hasten, etc etc. Incarnates are the least of the games issues, if you're talking about teams being able to steam roll content. Steam rolling content was where COH was looooong before incarnates. Hell we just had an entire 50+ page thread about IOs.
-
Crashless nukes were doing that long before Judgement came into existence.
-
There is nothing on the market to convert. And on some servers, no converters avaible. I should have clarified, you CAN do it, but just that the lack of anything to convert with, it will take you an insane amount of time on some servers.

For the number of times I've stated this to folks in and out of game when someone says "making inf is too hard", I'd have a billion inf myself by now.

. . . From spending a month playing on various other servers / flavors of COH. 1. Veteran Rewards and the way they were setup pre-shutdown were . . . NOT that great. 2. HC COH is not as easy as COH can be. Other servers allow you to do crazy things like getting FS, Transference at level 6. Mog / Elude at level 14, Nova at level 18. 3. Without an actual population getting IOs is a grind of unbelievable length. No pop, no AH. You will never get any useful set bonuses relying on drops and reward merits alone. An Active AH is pretty much Integral to the COH experience now. 4. The game is just fine played on SOs, just like it always was. 5. Incarnate abilities without IOs are meh as f. If the IO system didn't exist (and on some servers it pretty much doesn't because of number 3) I don't think Incarnates would be as unbalancing as some folks say it is. They would just be nice to have boosts. 6. Homecoming devs are doing stuff right taking the slow and steady path. Characters can pretty easily and readily break on some of the other servers. Having to reroll an entire character (no matter their level) is sure has hell not fun! Maps and parts of the game simply don't work on other servers because of some of the wacky changes made. On one server the PI indoor Police station pretty much bugs out your game every time, forcing you to re-validate EVERY. TIME. 7. The devs and community and HC are the friendliest of all the servers. Full stop. EDIT: I'll continue to spend some MINOR time on the other flavors of COH, but this is my home. š If other folks like the other servers better, more power to them, gl hf.

The problem with removing Training Enhancements
golstat2003 replied to Tigraine's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Issue here is he didn't have to do that before. He just ran with the drops he found. With that said, NO, I do not agree that they should be brought back. -
Great tips for coloring that all! thanks!

Working on a fire/dark character currently. It's fun. š

"The Game is not Balanced around IO's"..... should it be?
golstat2003 replied to Galaxy Brain's topic in General Discussion
Who said anything about TF limitations? I mean a new difficulty options. You'd play it because you'd get more rewards . . . and cause . . . fun? Fun as in you'd see new effects on mobs, something the game is sorely lacking also. EDIT: I thought I saw multiple people already imply they would not play the increased difficulty (even if you added it to the current max difficulty) unless more rewards were given. So I've been assuming any talk of more difficulty would mean they also want it to be more rewarding. I didn't think this was a question at this point. Or did I misread some folks? -
Generic Purple IO's [Semi Serious]
golstat2003 replied to Galaxy Brain's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I'm . . . actually shocked to see you of all folks post this. I think this sounds like it would lead to even more power creep. /shrug. But sure why not. LOL EDIT: I can imagine this making proc monster builds even EASIER to achieve lol -

Hmmm I would not mind a new difficulty where some mobs can get level shifted. Or have some mobs that use Destiny or Judgement themselves. š -

Right and the game if it had been completed purposefully lead you to be +3 by the time you left the zone for the next set of incarnate challenges . . . which the devs never go to unfortunately. -

You assume many folks would care. I have a version of COH downloaded to every computer I own currently. If NCSoft ever gets crazy, I'll still be able to play COH. If I could list 100 reasons why I stuck with my love of this game in the last decade, it being an mmo would be number 100. Dead last. EDIT: If COH had been released as a single player game, I would still be playing it today, and would find ways to play it in a VM when Windows no longer supported it. One of the servers, I play on I ONLY solo 100% of the time. When I don't want to deal with the nonsense of other folks I'm there playing. I've been actually playing there quite a bit that last few months. -

Superman, The X-Men, etc lost all the time in one way or another. So did Daredevil, so did Batman (hell Batman nearly lost everything in 2020 due to the Joker). Not losing doesn't have anything to do with it with my love of heroes. People prefer to play COH as casual, not serious. If they wanted serious difficulty there are plenty of games that have that. Folks like the idea of just joining a team of any 8 and steam rolling stuff. That's always been the case. -

As a kid I liked Superman, The X-Men, The Avengers. The Justice League. Guys who had actual superpowered threats. I think the disconnect in this thread is spot on with your post of where people are. What is a superhero to some folks? I'm sure we would get an epic amount of different responses. To me Batman is interesting because of the various psychiotic enemies he faces. Not that he is a gritty street level guy. Daredevil is interesting because of the insanity of the Hand and their ability to bring people back from the dead and the "monster" the worshipped at one point, and his super senses. Not cause he fights in Hell's Kitchen. I like my superheroes fantastical. I don't find comics where they are fighting a bunch of lacky thugs and struggling all that interesting. /shrug. -

That's the brilliant thing now. There can be an infinite number of COH.
