  1. As long as it's an optional setting that people can turn on sure. Leave the base game as is.
  2. Even with my last post, I'd say the option here ofcourse is to try it in the test environment (not the staging environment) and see what does or doesn't break with the TF.
  3. This seems like it's adding potential complication (and thus potential bugs) where complication isn't really needed. If it can be made to be 40 sure, but there are so many issues here I would tread lightly. I'd hate for this to turn into something that has to be constantly maintained because the changes to be made break a few things in unknown ways. To me that would be time better spent on other things. @Faultlines explanations show that she/he knows what she/he is doing, but those explanations show again that the way COH is put together is basically duct tape and thin thread ins some areas.
  4. Correct. The move to start separating the divisions between the sides really started when the devs saw how futile it was to have separate markets, from what I recall. I agree with others in this thread, just remove the final barriers and let everyone run what ever mission, tf, sf wherever they want and invite whoever the want. We can keep the side icons for flavor.
  5. This is a good idea. I will note though that in the current meta of high levels of defense, resistance and damage that teams brings, EMPS hardly need to EMP. No, I don't have an answer t that.
  6. In the instance it was added it kinda made sense and even then many folks still complained about it being added to the pet, with many folks stating that's not how they use that pet. Arguable if it's useful there. Time will tell. I'd argue for a lot of melee sets it would not be useful or desired. (And VERY arguable to the others ones suggested). EDIT: My suggestion would be to add the pull mechanic via an IO. So those that want it can slot for it. Similar to the KB to KD IO.
  7. On DCUO the heroic population dwarfs the villain pop there also. Take that for what you will.
  8. Then they can do it on NEW melee/control sets and leave everyone else's existing powers alone.
  9. Great, some one can do that in ANOTHER game. It's not realistic to think something like that can come to this game. I don't think such a change would be worth the time, and it would cause all sorts of issues folks have already outlined.
  10. You make some good points, but I still think if both competitors would teleported into an arena instance, that would be fine.
  11. Hmmm I see it slightly differently but won't argue with you. I'll just say on my pure Villians I always avoided the patrons for the level 40+ powers, when that became an option.
  12. Ehhhh I would say the pervasiveness of Arachnos means to some that the original devs DID NOT succeed in that regard. Had they simply left Arachnos and it’s spider based motif out, that might have made the story of Red Side work better. But as mmo I understand why they needed a theme like Arachnos. It made fleshing out the Rogue Isles easier.
  13. I think the issue here is the narrative and folks perception of their character (and what you can build in the character creator) don’t line up. Some folks see themselves as NOT a simple common criminal. Plus the fact with how invasive Arachnos is. I agree with others that I wish Arachnos had simply been written differently instead of being so pervasive.
  14. It really depends on what they are doing. A high level villain mission or sf sure. I’ll pass on low level content. If I didn’t make it clear earlier in the thread. I think it’s terrible on both sides. (And blue side having more terrible low level content is not an asset as far as I’m concerned).
  15. Why is the number of farmable missions on each side even relevant in this discussion when the AE exists literally EVERYWHERE. I don't get this line of discussion. LOL
  16. If you right click and send duel to someone, and they accept, then let it teleport them both to the arena setup kiosk in the arena. There you have your duel option, and no one else has to see it. 🙂
  17. Meh a lot of the lower level content on COH is pretty old and tedious. I wouldn't call all of that a plus. At least not until they revamp a lot of it.
  18. With that said I would not mind a rotating (maybe daily) award of double of an extra 2 merits when a mission is completed in a target zone.
  19. Hmmm, I always thought that anything that involves moving others or objects around with your mind is very thematically in place with a set called Mind Control based on various anime, comics, movies, etc. Some media separate Telepathy from Telekinesis. (aka Jean Gray not getting much Telekinesis until she got the Phoenix force), but many more don't take the path that X-Men/Marvel took.
  20. I always find it hilarious when folks say they want to play with others, this isanmmoarrrrrgh, but then refuse to realize that the "others" they want to play with aren't interested in any of the harder content. Inevitably, their next response "well make them play the harder content". Which at that point I just roll my eyes all the way to be back of my head. LOL
  21. I would not drop Telekinesis and Levitate from Mind Control. Leave Mind control as is, for those who like it as is (there are many) and just create a brand new telekinetic control set.
  22. The best suggestions are the ones you just post and say what you're trying to fix (why you think it's an issue, the REASON why you're making the suggestion) and then letting things flow, while debating with folks about it. Often other better suggestions (or player suggested workarounds) can come out of that. That debate isn't design philosophy. We're not designing anything. It's up to the devs to decide the how of how they implement a change, IF they decide to. That debate can also help to inform the devs if it's a suggestion they want to even try to pursue. They read every suggestion, but just because it's posted here doesn't mean it's a shoe in to get implemented. That was impossible on live and is probably quadropoly so here with a volunteer dev team of the current size. And the folks who don't like the the suggestion are just as important in their opinion as those who make or like a suggestion. In IT design philosophy is best left to the devs as they know the code best. I'd say that's true even with this game where the code is out in the wild. With that said you've been polite all along this thread so kudos on that. 🙂 EDIT: And to be clear I'm not picking on you. I'm stating the above cause I've seen many folks gets confused when the devs don't implement things exactly as they wish or even that a majority of players wish or suggest. (See the recent Sorcery shitstorm right before the last HC update).
  23. This is pretty much the only thing I miss about live. The list of things I specifically don't miss, including the silliness of the AH/Market on live, the old idea that tank herding was the best way to play, and no solo incarnate path, is much much MUCH longer.
  24. I don't think it's realistic to think that the pros and cons of a suggestion won't be debated in the same thread. That's the point of the suggestion forum. Also opening a new thread would just be needless clutter imo. Often those discussions about the props and cons, can improve a suggestion, as has happened numerous times on these forums and especially on live. EDIT: Debating if a change is even needed goes right along with every suggestion. That's not "design philosophy" as any suggestion made is up to the devs how the actually implement it. (Or even if they do no matter how much debate their is for or against a suggestion). Not us.
  25. EDIT: NVM, just saw the latest.
