  1. Just want to say the music is incredibly FF and uplifting. Especially in Ul'Dann (I know I'm spelling that wrong! LOL)
  2. I was about to post a thread on this! I got this two days ago and I'm already level 34! I'm hooked. I played XI in a bit back in the PS2/PS3 era but it didn't hold my interest. This one . . .this one feels like Final Fantasy! After playing the FFVII Remake and FF15, I needed a more traditional FF feel and this game did it. I can' t believe I'm playing a subscription MMO all these years later. 😄 (I would be paying for COH if it was still on the market. And sadly the donation windows close before I can get in. LOL)
  3. Sadly more folks want to be heroes than villains. Even in DCUO the hero pop was larger than the Villain pop by 2 to 1 (and at one point 3 to 1).
  4. I doubt they have the manpower for something as large as a reptuation system. So we can rest easy.

  8. I don't have to shudder. Them having to wipe characters and have server issues because of changes is all you need to know. I would never wish Cake's instability on here. EVER. Cake can keep it over there. Let's keep HC code as clean as possible please. (And that's saying something with how spaghetti code like COH code already is).

  10. Or just autocomplete the mission and move on. Life's too short to deal with bugs that probably won't be fixed anytime soon. And to be clear that sounds EXACTLY like a mission bug. Not a WAI experience. Let's call a spade a spade.
  11. Or you can just ignore the idiocy of that spawn camping and just mark the mission as autocomplete. . . or . . . just go do literally anything else in game with your team/solo. Life's too short to deal with that sort of bug in a past time we play for fun and relaxation. Other folk's mileage may vary. But I've got plenty more important things to do than get frustrated repeatedly for one mission. I'm too old for that s&#$ nowadays. Also "Get the $#%k off my lawn!" 😝

  13. Pretty much this. Shard's memory is spot on. AFK farming was a thing looooong before AE came into existence.

  16. Keep in mind for the last few months America (and much of the world has been affected by COVID). And let's keep in mind that these devs are a completely volunteer team, with REAL day to day DEV jobs.
  17. Yeah, I know some games need to be online if you want to play the online multiplayer component (obviously) but I've played many that also have an offline component like Dragon Ball Fighter Z and Monster Hunter World

  19. Yep, my fire/kin corrupter got 1500 merits over a 3 week period. Ended up making about 4 billion across 5 toons using those merits for converters. "Making inf is hard and needs farming" /sarcasm

  21. Also this. The prices on live were ridiculous compared to what we have now. An LOTG +7.5% recharge IO was 100 mil consistently. Purples were also 100 mill. Some PVP IOs were easily 800 mil or more (and I knew of several folks with the stones to flip those!) In comparison an LOTG has been max 7 mill here on HC for months. With pvp and purple IOs being in the 20-30 mil range. (With some pvp IOs being even less). Keep that in mind. And farming and marketeering was probably more rampant on live than it was here.
  22. I don't find it difficult to believe at all. Especially for folks who had 50s since early issue 3, BEFORE IOs. And has been said that's a lot of marketing slots to put your inf into, if you have multiple alts. By end of live, I had 75 level 50s and 30-32 lower level toons who were into marketing. And I wasn't one of the folks who had max altities. 😛
  23. I agree to a point. HC needs to focus on a path that they feel is best for their server. And I say their as they are the ones putting in the major work. Ultimately we only play here because we prefer it. And we are certainly NOT sure that the highlighted above is in fact true. That's simply a conspiracy theory. MY understanding was that some players who play here in HC, and have been good with typical testing are the ones involved, based on the actual words JImmy just posted. Only SOME things should be design by committee. And most things shouldn't be. For the Dark Melee changes I would perhaps have asked what folks thought of maybe three possible design directions and gone with the one that had the most positive feedback.

As someone who is a professional QA, it's testing and re-testing issues and doing things like black box testing, regression testing, integration testing, functional testing, and other things that are simply not just "playing with the tool/game", or ooohing and ahhing at the "new shinies" or using it regularly. In doing so you keep asking about how things work, why they work certain ways and if they match the Acceptance Criteria laid out for the change, enchantment, upgrade, new feature/function. If I had a 25th hour of the day I would help out more with this testing. Unfortunately I don't. And after spending 40-60 hours a week, I just want to hop on COH and just play. More power to those in the internal, pre-public testing test who are squashing the king kong sized bugs before they get to us.
