Is Orbiting Death that useful for Tri Form?
golstat2003 replied to MrSnottyPants's topic in Peacebringer & Warshade
I'd argue a warshade is most powerful when they are constantly switching forms. I can't imagine playing one as human only for any extended amount of time. It's like gimping yourself. But to each their own. -
I'd rather have PA stay when ported to Doms. Especially after the change they just made to make is so that the PAs can look like you, I'd call it a set defining power.

Add other difficulty options that the team leader can set (or solo folks can set if they want) that buffs bosses in all the ways that are wanted (or whatever masochistic options anyone else wants). That avoids the potential issue you guys are debated and leaves the game alone for the rest of us who are fine with it is as is, as a casual game.

Pretty much this.

Except it's not an MMO. It's a free game that isn't really in continuous development. I'd argue sweeping changes that affect many builds are NOT what we should be focused on. In fact I'd argue it's a waste of the limited resources this volunteer team has time to spend on. That's perfectly fine. Trying to get perfect balance on a game that is over 10 years old, doesn't have a paid team, is a fools errand. They have better time to focus their limited resources on. And that's perfectly fine to say.

IOs are fine. Add more options for those that want to play difficult content. (Of which i bet you'd find very few if you didn't increase the rewards for doing so, as @Galaxy Brainalluded to earlier.) EDIT: This ancient free game isn't dark souls. And it never will be.

I farm to level up new builds to try out. I have a farmer on each of my accounts. The inf and drops are icing on the cake. The other is for getting vet levels so that I can get the emp reward, which I convert to Reward Merits, and the converters, for marketing. Helps to fuel alt builds.

You have to do something for veteran levels. Earn xp. Incarnating out via BAF after BAF is bloody easy.

March 31 patch and its effects on the marketplace

Converters pretty much mean you won't be able to do that. At least not for long even if you tried. But that's for not. LOL -
March 31 patch and its effects on the marketplace
golstat2003 replied to Yomo Kimyata's topic in The Market
Pretty much this. I . . . wouldn't care if someone tried what the poster before you suggested, as I can just convert the ones that don't exist into ones that do. In fact I did that for half the set IOs in my last two level 50s. /shrug. -
OUCHIES!!!!

"95% accuracy against +3s is all you need"
golstat2003 replied to nihilii's topic in General Discussion
I . . . don't think about accuracy much. Just go after what I'm aiming for in the build: permadom, high recharge, softcapped defenses, high resists, etc. The accuracy for the IO Sets that go towards that work out on their own. Also stick in one or two purple sets and good enough. Especially with the to hit buffs flying around on most teams nowadays. -
Gale is fine as is. I would not mind if it had better accuracy. But other than that I disagree with the OP.

Or Dark Dark Dark Corrupter.

Electrical Affinity "seizure" animations on allies
golstat2003 replied to Keen's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
For those that get sick from this I'm fine if they gave a different animation option or blocked the animation from being seen in some way. Other than that I think the animation choice is perfectly fine for what it is. -
new feature New Feature: In-Game Polling System
golstat2003 replied to MetaVileTerror's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Hard no. The decisions on how to run the server should be left up to the devs. -
Okay fine. Let's keep the aggro cap where it is. I don't think it would do anything positive for the game. There we're back on topic now. 🙂

Difficulty in CoH: Community Discussion
golstat2003 replied to Galaxy Brain's topic in General Discussion
Agreed. Stats would just make thing more tedious. That's not difficulty. That's just making encounters take longer. -
Even 3 hours for me gets old. Especially in the dreary Shadow Shard. But glad folks are able to solo it.

Restrict Judgment powers during regular play.
golstat2003 replied to Darkneblade's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Except we're not asking them to change the game for us. We're working with what's there, which includes IOs and Incarnate powers, and being able to level up fast and try new "power fantasies". That's the difference between the two sides. If they never introduced another story arc I'd be fine. There are plenty of builds for me level up, IO up, and incarnate up that I would playing this for another 3 years even without any new story based content. Which is why I'm fine with IOs and Incarnates as is. I'm not asking for them to make progression faster or make even more incarnate powers. if they do nice. But there is enough non-storyline content to keep me busy. For ME and many others, the game is creating alts and seeing how far I can push them and rolling over mobs in full teams in random door missions, not playing ancient story lines that I already read 50 times before on live. YMMV -

golstat2003 replied to Darkneblade's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
The issue is that many of us are vets who've done the story arcs to death on live. So the fun is trying out new sets and pushing them as far as they can go. If we had a steady flow of content throughout various levels people would probably be more inclined to stop and smell the roses. Unfortunately, that wasn't even the case when we had a full dev team. I don't think it will be the case here. Also the fun of playing a living comic book is the power fantasy. The incarnate system fuels that and makes it possible for folks to do stuff that they can't normally do on the regular set up of the ATs. (Though arguably IOs do that more since they are slot-table for significant value in the 30s and up). I think many folks who like the old traditional playstyle of COH might have to realize that most folks many not be looking for that any longer. And that more folks are who are more into the more slower style of the old days, may have to make some effort to form those types of teams. I'm for more options for that. Like being able to set a team to only take folks with no incarnates (or even no IOs), or setting a cap on how many AOEs, etc etc. More options, not less. EDIT: To be clear this isn't a D&D module where you as team leader is also the Dungeon master setting the limits. You don't know what builds folks will have before they join the team or even if they are full incarnated or just have alpha, or just have IOs. The only way is to tell people ahead of time. Many folks advertise in LFG that they only want this or that on the team or "2 spots left, could use some debuffers". That's fine. (I just like rolling with whatever within reason, but then I know that team is not for me and move on). -

Yep. Seems to me there are plenty of folks who would be willing to play with tf options or exemping below the point of incarnate power availability. -

golstat2003 replied to Darkneblade's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
ehhhhhh let's be fair, an IO'd to the gills toon IMO is MUCH easier to attain than incarnates. Especially if you farm/play the market. I can do it in less than a week on a new 50. Incarnates, not so much. -

golstat2003 replied to Darkneblade's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
A consider the significant end redux, damage boost, recharge, etc that you can get from Alpha important enough on some toons that I see it up there with the utility of those other powers. In some case to me it's more important than those additional powers. But I see your point. (And as I've said I don't think Incarnate powers need any changes at all.) -

golstat2003 replied to Darkneblade's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
why? what's the difference between alpha and all the other incarnate powers. They are all incarnate powers earned via trails, threads, astrals emps. This is like trying to have your cake an eat it too. Personally I think the system as is is fine. We just need more content for incarnates to do. And give leaders the option to set teams to no incarnates if that's really needed. (I don't think it is, but more options is more options for everyone.)
